6 Week Fat Loss Challenge

Here's a picture of a guy who can't stick with a plan. I knew when I started this that there was going to be a couple weeks that would be tough, due to a vacation and work travel, but I really thought I was up for it. Now, throw in a partial tear of my achilles tendon and stuck wearing a boot for 4 - 6 weeks, and my cardio is gone. Turns out, I may have been out exercising my bad diet choices.

My struggle now, do I continue with this cut (that I seem unable to actually do), or run the 8 weeks of Test1fy, Tr1umph and X-Gels that I had planned on doing, or say screw it and run the 8 week cycle of 1-Andro, Epi-Andro and Dermacrine that I was thinking about running sometime in January.

Please ignore the chubby mid-section and un-even traps.

You are looking great my man. Don't get down! Just a diverted course and correction. I'm here for the duration plus or however long it takes.

Nobody is leaving you behind. On the contrary it was kind of you to allow me time to catch up a little!

He is definitely slimmer than me lol by a long shot

Same here... :D
Make that three of us! SFreed, seriously bro, life happens. Get healed up and TRY to keep diet in check. After all, you're just determining your next starting point right now.

Regardless of what you run next, you'll be insanely ripped again quickly after that boot comes off. I have faith in you!

Looking good
Keep up the cut and just control it through calories

SFreed, for an older guy, you look great. Just get back on the wagon and it's all good. I chubbed up to 18% earlier this year and I'm smooth sailing back to my goal. It happens

Today was conquer and was not super impressed. Been using nitraflex and ergopre lately. Got a mesomorph but felt like death when I came down.

Interesting...I love conquer. Just shows how different people are because I don't like nitraflex...haha

Back up to 207 despite eating the same exact diet. Proof that when dieting, weighing yourself everyday can be pointless. The 207 probably comes from the fact that I didn't even take a dump yesterday before dinner, haha. Stay strong everyone!

LOL, I guess I'm unique. I weigh myself 2-3 times a day a lot of days. It just mentally keeps me aware and in check. Fluctuations don't seem to bother me at all unless they seem like they actually indicate things. But I KNOW when I'm doing what I have to and I KNOW when it's water weight because of it. I mean, if I eat 800 calories in a day and gain 3 pounds, it ain't fat. Water and food weight, sure, but not fat.

Gotta say, today's workout was demotivating. Strength levels still on par with before, but going to the gym is a chore. But hey, that's what big calorie deficits do. Gonna start popping the stims on Monday, my energy levels are shot!

What is your workout like? If you're pushing too hard, it can be tough. In a severe deficit you really need to be focused on just maintaining strength as best you can. You'd be surprised how you can inch ahead a little if you just don't push too much...and this is coming from the idiot who everyone says is crazy and makes things hard on himself. Some days, when you are down on energy, it's better to just rest that day and come back the next. Why have a bad workout that doesn't accomplish much when you can come back tomorrow and get more done?

Brother, this entire thing is just harder than it looks. It is full of "failure" at every turn (failure being really just set backs). Losing the last 20 that I think I have to lose has been BRUTAL for me and it still won't come off. You are even leaner than I am and you have had a lot of life happening on top of that.

You should do what you REALLY want to do. Whether that is bulk or cut - which one will you commit to and be happy doing? it's your goals. And if you WANT to do it, you will.

If it is any help, I've gained 15 pounds in the last 7 days. Yup. Bang. Full retard. Ok, so, I lost 5 of it as of this morning....but mentally that is hard. All that work I did and it just piled on because I was STARVING suddenly haha. I think it was some kind of grehlin/leptin rebound.

Anyway, just go get what you want to go get. Hopefully this thread will last a while and maybe in 8-12 weeks you can come back and do it again. Or, if you choose to, you can start all over next week or the following week.

lol @ "for an older guy" - He actually is good period. He has a nice v-taper starting and just has a little pudge (very little), which of course we would all put some pudge on if we had to wear a boot due to injury.

In all reality, I think he's just setting himself up for the 18 pounds if he decides to come back. The first 7-8 will just fall off fast now. #sandbagger SFreed

My workout routine is based on the concepts of the Texas Method, and a lot of reading from my favorite strength/conditioning coaches and the RPE system. So my workouts are mostly autoregulated so I don't push too hard when I am not supposed to. The "demotivating" part comes from the insane lack of energy I have, but this is expected in a 1k cal deficit and a stim break. This monday, I'm popping some stims.

Oh, I am just pointing out that a lot of the older guys I see are in awful shape. I usually find a lot of older guys let themselves go cause they don't really care about that stuff or don't have time to do it. No offense intended.

Yeah, I was sincere in that I thought it was funny. I knew, and I think everyone did, that you weren't insulting anyone at all. I didn't mean anything other than it was actually funny. I mean, SFreed is old, what can you say? And he can take the jabs....so you gotta love that

First.. SFreed, you look like a fricken stud man. Get healed up, and come back hard with a vengeance. HIT4ME, you knownyoure a rockstar in my book. Do what you gotta do and as Ive said, I and we will still be here when youre ready. BEAST73, beast is all I can say. ma70 lighten the load a bit and hit more volume. Youll pull through this, just quit calling us old people old, it hurts. Lol habajaba and BloodManor keep up the positive reinforcement. We ALL need it! bighulksmash, love seeing you in here bro! justhere4comm youre crushing your goals man. Its a fight, and a slow one, but your winning.
Second... bad news. Homecoming weekend at the College I work at, so no gym...today, or tomorrow since Ill be here again. NOT IN A PLEASANT MOOD. To top it off, were going to be up ALL NIGHT dealing with drunks, and overdoses, tonight and tomorrow. STILL NOT IN A PLEASANT MOOD. Diet is still on point, but I need to release some energy, so calisthenics it is for me.

Nitraflex is ok
Max reps today plus a caffeine pill was amazing this morning

MaxREPS + caff was the first recipe I found that worked really well for me. Then I added BronkAid... Whole 'nother level, brotha! I think RagNOrok gives me just a slight edge over MaxREPS, but they both work darn well for me personally!

Thanks for the support guys, it really means a lot to me. Part of my problem is I look at what you guys are capable of and feel like I should be the same. And yep, I am old. It's not an excuse, just a fact of life. I just need to decide if I want to cut or bulk. Can't do both, and I feel like a recomp isn't where I should be focusing my efforts.

I count each of you among my real friends and I'm happy that I stopped being a lurker and started participating. I do feel like we're all in this together, and I know that I can count on each of you to help me. Thanks for being there!

ma70, part of me wants to make a comment about what your Mom thinks of me for that "older guy" comment, but not really knowing you, I'll let it slide. This time.

I'm kidding you, man. I know I'm old compared to most on here. Trying to keep up with you guys is what keeps me "young"!

Fck yeah bud. You can't let a week where you just relax and let go bring you down. What was the point of even doing up the vacation? Just hop back on and get back to your pre-vacation diet, or try to do even better. You are a machine man and look better than 99% of men in their 30s and up. I know you have the drive and work ethic. Just relax friend

SFreed, I am 43 soon to be 44, and sometimes I can feel the age.. but this young guy at the gym was calling me a old man for months. So one day I said, hey let's work chest/back together, he said sure old man. At the end of the Workout session he was on the floor saying I am done. It took him 2 days to recover. So I love to be called old from the young generation. Lol

^^this^^ I for one would be thrilled to have your leanness SFreed! As far as feeling like you feeling like you should be doing what we do? Naa, you do you. I can lift, and some people consider what I lift to be heavy, but do you see me running 12 miles with BEAST73? Nope. Not happening for this guy, but I feel like I should be able to. You think I can bust the elliptical for 1.5-2 hours like HIT4ME? Not happening, but I feel like I should be able to. Everybody self criticizes, its just to what level, and Ive learned in this lifestyle, were the worst on ourselves. You can admire what others do, but in the end, you do you and you'll get what you're wanting. Promise

Exactly. SFreed, how do you think the 20 something year old college kids feel when my overweight bald @ss goes in after their struggling to do 135 on overhead shoulder press, and I say, leave it on there, I need to warm up. And before its Im pushing 245? Or reps at 185? Or when these young cut up b@stards do skull crushers with 50s and hurting, and "the old man" knocks down 20 with the 100? In no way am I trying to brag, but Im with BEAST73, for the first time in my life, Im enjoying being older than everyone else at the gym

I personally think you are in a great spot to start a recomp from. You drop 5lbs of fat and build 5 lbs of muscle your body is going to look completely different, and you never had to go so low as cut diet levels but composition wise it will look like you are 10lbs leaner.

However if that's not your bag then I would not waste a planned bulk on a time when I can not work legs. Instead I would start doing some fast paced circuit training while remaining on the cut. Use your lifting with no breaks or minimal breaks to burn the extra energy you would notmally use cardio for. This way you are building muscle with the exercises you are using to also expend a lot of energy. Still creates the deficit but is not catabolic to LBM.

Started my Sup3r DHEA tonight. Loaded up a syringe and proceeded to press the plunger.

Only thing is. It exploded and shot a wad all over me and the bathroom wall, door and sink.

Lmfao. That sh1t dries fast and only alcohol takes it off. Fuuucaduck.
