It's like I was meant to win one of these. Coffee showed up this afternoon with my new burr grinder.
Already enjoying my first cup.

Mine just showed up as well... I usually just go to "Fresh Market" and have them grind them. What Burr Grinder did you get? I was looking. Can't really find one under $90, unless it's a manual grinder.

I just use a cheap electric grinder from Walmart. Works good and it also works to grind my oats up into flour when I add them to my protein shakes.

That looks very similar to the one I used today (see pic earlier), except mine is a Mr. Coffee. It got the job done well enough IMO. I see similar ones on Amazon for as low as $15.I just use a cheap electric grinder from Walmart. Works good and it also works to grind my oats up into flour when I add them to my protein shakes.

:bigok:
Yeah, I'm not enough of a coffee snob to really be able to tell much difference in taste with the way it's ground. I just try to match the grind of my Folger's. Lol! I'm also a cheap bass turd when it comes to certain things.
Ha. I have been making Stove Top Espresso and Russian Coffee for my wife for years, but sick of the Starbuck's thing. I'd rather support locally, and or board sponsors when I can, so if I have to grind :naughty: my own beans, then I'm good with that. I'm no snob, but you should really taste my coffee sometime. Maybe one day! Check it: I start the coffee, then go to the cups, add some water, sweetener, and coconut oil, once the coffee is done, I heat up the water in the microwave for 20 seconds. Pour the coffee, then add the half-n-half. It's a ritual I love. 4:30a, then repeat when the wife gets up.
Nothing like a great cup of coffee.
Keep in mind, there's a difference between a burr grinder, and a blade grinder, which is what is being held in your hands up there.
I also have a cheap electric grinder. It's about $15 and does the job, I just decided to be more of a snob about my grind as my OCD was taking over. =P
The burr grinder I have can make good "Turkish" ground coffee which turns it into dust. Blade grinders can't quite get it to the same consistency. My brother married an armenian (sp?) woman who also makes the stove top coffee. I love it! You gotta like a strong cup though.
You'd probably love the coffee in Puerto RIco.....Cafe Negro y mallorcas con queso y tocineta.....mmmmmmmmm (Black coffee and Mallorcas with cheese and bacon)
Stove top coffee out of my grandmothers 60 year old percolator was amazing
Something about that process and metal makes it taste so unique
I use a 1 quart pan on occasion. You stir it man then strain it. It's crazy.
