Arguably top 3 of all time but most certainly not the best qb of all time...
Kamara was a brilliant pick and definitely utilized wrong in college. He will have an amazing career. Though he slipped up on that last play that DB will be a stud as well. That defense has been shît for a long time and now they are damn good.

I'm not sure about of all time, but definitely of this generation. Brady, Peyton, Brees.

I find it hard to compare all-time QBs because of how much the game has changed from the early eras to Marino/Young era to Brady/Peyton/Brees era to the Newton/Mariota/Prescott era. Totally different styles of the game.

Wait...are we really putting Newton/Mariota/Prescott in the same conversation as the others you listed? Or just saying they define the type of qb play? I think I understood your post as the latter but i just want to make sure lol.

Yeah the latter lol. They're the modern QB style.

Or the game seems to be transitioning to them, at least. Baker Mayfield and Lamar Jackson coming with Paxton Lynch, Patrick Mahomes in the wings.

Can we please just let him leave the conversation. My goodness how long can we all just sit here and keep listening to him spew bs? Saints lost. Lets moooove on.

Personally am not a fan of Baker. Just his composure and how he conducts himself off the field almost reminds me of Manziel.

Manziel came off douchey and entitled. Mayfield doesn't rub me that way. He's a competitor, a bit obnoxious and immature, but you can see his passion. Manziel seemed more concerned with himself and partying. Plus, he came from oil money and grew up entitled. I do see how you could find them similar, though, but Mayfield strikes me different. And Mayfields game is also better, imo.

My ideal situation actually has the Giants trading down to 6-8 and taking Mayfield while picking up some extra picks.

Would love to walk away with Mayfield, Evans, Chubb, and Price.

Ill have to wait and see how he plays on Sunday's before I judge him, but I am not sold on him. Heisman or not. I just don't like the cockiness, the dick grabs, the slitting of the throat during the Georgia game and then they lose. Sure he can put up some great numbers, I just don't like his composure. These college players don't realize how many people see and monitor their actions on a daily basis. Him doing some stupid stuff off the field or on the field will really sway how a team looks into him. But that is just my opinion.

I love the cockiness and the competitiveness. You can't teach that kind of confidence. You can't teach being a winner.

Look at Watson vs Kizer. Kizer was allegedly the better QB going into the draft but Watson was a winner. That's why I don't like Sam Darnold (aside from the fact he's a USC QB). He just doesn't win.

The dick grab was blown wayyyy out of proportion and will stop in NFL. I agree he does go too far sometimes. He brings a passion and energy though that will amp his team up. I wouldn't want him to stop bringing that energy to every game.

Plus, I think Shumar can get the most out him. Interested to see how the rest of the staff shakes out. Hoping we don't keep Spags as DC

I personally think Baker has the most upside but he needs to sit for two years to mature and develop under a quality QB like Manning or Alex Smith. I do not think he can start now. I am not a fan of any QB of starting in this draft immediately. Not impressed with Rosen or Darnold from what I have seen but I am no expert.

I also thought Manziel could be a quality QB if he sat for a couple years, matured and packed on some muscle but none of that happened. I remember being so Angry when the Browns traded in front of the Chiefs to get him. Thank Goodness they did though! Ha

I don't know that I would have put Kiser ahead of Watson as far as success potential going to the NFL. He had some upside but also showed a lot of inconsistency. Like you said Watson had that taste of winning and it really edged him ahead in my book. Couldn't beat the toughness in big games either. I also have been watching kizer since since high school as I live in the toledo area. Very good but I wouldn't say he was no doubt going to be great.

Reports that the Colts are expected to reach a deal with Josh McDaniels for their HC opening. I wanted Patricia, but it looks like he's going to be heading to the Lions. I am just concerned the Colts will be McDaniels' second failed HC attempt...he really hasnt done anything without being under Belichik and having Brady. I do hope he will be good for Luck and the Indy offense as a whole, and I trust Chris Ballard a lot more than I did Grigson, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

;). I still think I'd prefer Patricia, but Shumar and a good DC would be a huge upgrade from McAdoo

McDaniel's biggest failure was his inability to connect with players. A lot of HC fail their first time so I wouldn't be worried. He's a great offensive mind and can put together a vastly different game plan every week. Assuming Luck comes back, I think Colts will be fun to watch.

what is good for luck is good for the colts, team is designed around the passing game...frank gore was a terrific pick-up, but he suffers under the colts 'system'...too bad marshall faulk wasn't better utilized, imo.

btw-it was a real treat to see eric Dickerson play in person, even though it was at end of his career.

one last thing...I got to see marino play at the old hoosier dome[rca dome], even though he was in decline at the end of his career I thought he was the 'smoothest' most effortless drop back passer I ever saw...that is until tom brady-even though the pats were main rival for colts in mannings heyday, I still give huge props to brady-the guy is amazing!!!

brady is the real deal!!!

Very happy with the Jags season so far. Went from a laughing stock to one of the best this season. I still don't think we can win it all with Bortles, but I have to commend him on his performance vs Pittsburgh.

I think they actually have a real shot at beating the Pats. They really do match up pretty well. They have a strong pass rush that can harrass Brady and great DBs who can lock down receivers without extra help, which frees up defenders to pass rush or run stop. They aren't great against the run, but NE isn't a great rushing offense, and they run the ball hard which NE hasn't been great at stopping.

As long as Bortles plays a competent game, they really could win.

Now, they don't match up that well with either NFC team because of their reliance on the rushing game (which both the Eagles and Vikes are great at stuffing) and their inability to push the ball downfield (which both are less able to stop). Additionally, both Offenses are run heavy which really exploits the Jags defensive weaknesses, but they are certainly not incapable of winning it.

I just feel like we've seen this story 100x over, some cinderella team makes it to the AFC championship with all the momentum and the pats always just end up being too good, too smart, and with too good of a game plan. I would LOVE it if the jags went to Foxborough and won, I just dont see it happening. I agree completely with all the matchups Jim. I just seems like the pats always figure out a way to make these teams new to the playoff picture look bad. Bortles is going to blow the game somehow, his luck has to run out sometime and there's no better time than against the Pats in the AFC championship.

Edit: Dont get me wrong, I'm definitely hoping for another Giants-esque upset.

I agree. I don't necessarily think they will win this game, but I do think they can. I won't be too surprised if the Jags pull it off, but I wouldn't put any money on it.

Definitely fair points. We have overperformed this year for sure, but it is likely coming to an end soon. I'm sure Bortles will be the biggest reason when the loss does happen.

Noticed Patricia mentioned above. My god am I happy he is our coach now. Lions fans have been waiting a long time for a great coach and our team truthfully isn't far off from making a deep run.

gotta pull for the underdog.

For Sure brother. We had hockey but that was it. The tigers should have been unstoppable with the 4 ace team a few years back but the chemistry wasn't right. Now we are the joke of the league. My lions have been decent just missing that push and I truly feel a winning combo with Quinn and Patricia will give us an edge. Just have to be able to play all 4 quarters. We shall see.

That Brady injury is interesting. Missed 2 straight days of practice? Also thielen will be so jacked up on morphine to get him through the playoffs with a messed up back who know what shape he will be in coming next season. Depending on the severity a off season surgery could be in his future. That's just me knowing the feel of back issues.

NFL "mistakenly" releases Vikings vs. Patriots SB promo.

Google has SB 52 listed as a SB appearance for MIN.

First time in over 40 years if so. Being in the division you would think I would be rooting for them to lose but I actually am pulling for them. What a story from that humble ass QB. A year ago had you told me he was going to lead Minnesota to a conference championship game or super bowl I would tell you to pass the good shìt you are on! Lol
Blows your mind.

You think he can run crisp routes and catch a football on morphine...? Definitely not. I'd bet Toradol/ketorolac is the absolute heaviest they go on game days. Thats just basically a stronger Ibuprofen. Theres only so much pain you can take away with drugs without negatively affecting performance.

I am rooting for a Jags vs Vikings SB
I would like to see Minn play in their own home field.
The Jags if they can come out early and get up on New England would be interesting, but then again we know how Tom Brady is with comebacks (if he plays based off what the media is saying).

There is no way Brady sits out that game. They don't have a competent backup, and he would never let Belichek bench him. His hand could be broken in 18 places and he would suit up. He would probably try to play this game in a damn cast like he was JJ Watt or something.

Jim. I never confirmed brady was sitting out at all in my response. I simply said we know how good Tom Brady is at comebacks even if the jags got up early. Hell he is like Gronk. They would play even if they had half a body cast on.

You don't see the quoted part of your post where you say "(if he plays)?"

Really?

Does IF mean he is 100% Sitting out? No. Your twisting the concept of the word.
How many times are players listed as questionable and end up playing about 95%. This is the NFL they don't care how injured they are. Brady is a nutcase, he would play even if his other arm was broken as long as he could throw the football

Are you stupid Bob? That is a serious question.

Your statement implies that you believe there is a chance he doesn't play. My response to that was that there is no chance, as in 0, that he doesn't play the AFCCG. Quit being argumentative just for the sake of arguing.

Good thing quoted posts are forever, since you are over here trying to edit all of your posts to make it look like you aren't being an idiot right now.

IF is labeled as presuming (that), supposing (that), assuming (that),
used to admit something as being possible

To you IF may mean sitting out, I get that is your assumption. . Simply he is questionable based off the media.

You are the one trying to argue the word “if”
As being definite or confirmed for Tom’s status for Sunday. That was never my intention.

Personally I don’t care if he plays or not. I am simply reporting what is written on ESPN so you can argue with the newscasters who write this on their public webpage

Holy ****ing **** Bob.

"used to admit something as being possible"

Now read that quote from you, and then read my comments saying it is impossible, or there is no chance, that Brady sits. Continue reading those two things until you get it, or die, whichever comes first (my money is on death from old age tbh).

Quit being a ****ing potato. It is too early in the morning for this nonsense.

Brady, who was officially listed as questionable on the team's injury report, deflected questions on how confident he is that he'll play in Sunday's AFC Championship Game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

"We'll see," he said.

I agree bet they do it more often then people think man. Who knows. It could be just a non significant issue and they are playing mind games. I just haven't looked much into it.

He's questionable because he's injured and they took away probable. Questionable doesn't mean anything. It's a formality. Brady is absolutely playing
