2017 NFL Draft & Season Chat Thread

Rumours are that Marshawn Lynch is interested in the Patriots!! That would just be unfair! Lol Lynch as the power with those 2 talented speed backs Lewis and I forget the other dude.

James White

Hard to believe someone could forget the guy who carried the Pats in their SB win just 2 months ago lol.

Lol very fair. In my defence I had my 3rd child last Wednesday which makes 3 under 4 years old. The house has been a little crazy and the old brain power isn't firing at 100%

Miami's two-time Pro Bowler told a London crowd over the weekend that the Dolphins will sweep the reigning Super Bowl champion New England Patriots this upcoming season.

The Browns' decision appears to be between defensive end Myles Garrett and quarterback Mitchell Trubisky. IMO Garrett is the golden ticket. Pick a QB with 2nd pick in Round 1

The city of St. Louis filed a lawsuit Wednesday against the National Football League over the Rams' relocation to Los Angeles, alleging the league violated its own relocation guidelines and enriched itself at the expense of the community it left behind.

Hankins is good, but not elite. $10M a year makes him the highest paid defender on the Colts. He had a stud line and still wasn't elite last year. In his defense, he was playing out of position and he's young.

Plus, Luck still has a trash OL and this is a weak draft for OL and strong for DL. But Colts definitely added some talent this off season. Maybe lucks prime won't get wasted because he's on a junk team ala tony romo

Ill take an above average, young d-lineman at this point. Someone who has been successful and is young with a lot of potential is worth it for me at this stage. Id rather do that than pay for guys who are old and will be retiring in 3 seasons or less like grigson had done. And remember, the colts dont really have any "stars" aside from vontae, so if Ballard thinks that Hankins has the potential, i will give him the benefit of the doubt on his first "gamble" and think that it's justified to pay him that to bring him in.

I will agree that, collectively, the o-line has done a trash job, but I wouldn't say that the individual guys (at least the top guys on the depth chart) are trash just yet. They have given up A LOT of hits since luck came into the league, but they also havent had the time to develop any chemistry. They need another piece but i think they have the potential to be "good enough". They had a **** ton of injuries in the line early in the season last year so it was hard to really get a grasp of what we had. Joe haeg, costanzo, kelly are all young guys with potential imo.

Here's a quote from the colts website, i didn't realize the #s were THIS bad, but here they are:

"Again, we’ll give you two. 35 and 578. The first is the number of starting line combinations quarterback Andrew Luck has lined up behind in his 70 regular-season games. That’s ridiculous. The second is the number of QB hits the Colts have allowed since Luck’s arrival in 2012. That’s the most in the NFL over the last five seasons; the woeful Cleveland Browns are second with 545, according to NFL.com. That’s beyond ridiculous."

35 combos in 70 games...with a close to a fifth of those being last season if im not mistaken (i dont remember the exact # of combos, but i remember i was like holy **** when i heard the # at some point last season). Thats tough, for any team, especially if you dont have the depth at even one OL position let alone more than one.

Hoping the Giants sign Jared Odrick. Would also like Nick Mangold.

Then draft:
Njoku, Jarrad Davis, Antonio Garcia, Nathan Peterman, Deshaun Hall, Matt Milano/Kendall Beckworth, Chris Carson

Would give us a future starting ILB and OLB, future QB, starting TE and OT, a between the tackles RB, and depth at DE.

Not sure if 100% true, but if so holy crap

The rich get richer if Bills don't match it. Him + Burkhead would be a great duo.

I didn't even read what you had quoted and at first thought this was in reference to Hernandez, which made me scratch my head and laugh simultaneously.

The Plot thickens:
Hernandez commits suicide but under the state of Mass law if you die during the appeal of a conviction, automatically the original conviction becomes null and void.
This means he never violated the New England Patriots contract thus his daughter is enables to $15 million. This is the $ the patriots promised to pay him weather he died a day after signing the contract.

Titans and Brown's will trade

Seen this as well. Browns grab the best player in garret then trade back up and grab their QB Trubisky

Trubinsky most likely would be there at 12 ... I don't see it as a favorable trade up for the browns. Even if Trubinski is gone there are a few other great QB options.

Agreed. But they have a plethora of picks so if he's their guy why not grab him.

I'll have my mock up soon. Have steelers taking peppers ATM.

I wanna see your Mock, and i 100% Agree with you he will be there, I would not risk it to lose another pick in the draft. The browns need all the help they can get.

I could see Tennessee taking a CB at 5 or 18, but I think Allen and Foster will give them a formidable front 7.

I think that's a reasonable mock. I think the Jets front office is under so much pressure, however, that I don't see them drafting a safety with their first. They'll either reach for a QB, RB or trade back to acquire more picks. They're gonna want to make a splash pick at 6.

Same with San Fran...I don't see them picking a safety at 2. Even if the prospect warrants it, everyone keeps reporting how this is a historically deep safety class, so I think those guys get bumped down. Just my opinion.

Otherwise, I think that mock looks solid.

I'd also add that as a very tepid Raiders fan, they need bodies in the middle of that D. I don't think they go corner. They need interior lineman or mike backer.
