2016 NFL Thread

Colts completely dominate the Vikings today. Too bad the titans and texans ended up making comebacks in the 4th. The Colts are one game back of those two teams for 1st in the AFC south. If they would play like they did today consistently, they wouldn't even be in this situation looking up at the divisional leaders. Shout out to their O line today though, they actually played like professional offensive lineman and protected Luck.

News Around the League:
- Jags fire their coach after a 14-48 Start

Pitt vs Cincy:
Great comeback by Pitt, and good all around game from Ben & Bell. Much needed W to keep them alive ahead the AFC North. Baltimore on Christmas Day!

Indy vs Minn
Nobody saw this blowout coming. Peterson only had 22 yards in his first game back. Colts destroy the Vikings on all aspects

NYG Vs Detroit
2 Turnovers cause Detroit some problems. Giants take this W and Eli looked good with 2 TD's even though he barley had 150+ passing yards in this game.

Tenn vs KC
Both QB's struggled to find the end zone, but both teams ran the ball very well. Close game all the way up to the end as Tenn edged out the Chiefs
on the road. Andy Reid is wishing he could take that Timeout back as TENN gets the last second FG win.

Baltimore vs Philly:
Philly continues to struggle and the losing streak continues. Ravens pull out a much needed W to keep them alive for next week vs Pitt to see who holds the AFC north title. Wentz 22/42 and under 200 yards with a subpar performance.

Buffalo vs Cleveland
RGIII is back, but that doesnt mean anything. Browns continue to lose. McCoy ran wild for 150+ yards which set the standard for the bills wearing them down.

Houston vs Jax
Houston made a great comeback as Savage looked pretty darn good on his performance and almost throwing for 300 yards. Lucky for Houston they put the ball on the ground 3 times but never turned it over.

GB Vs Chicago
Just when you thought Chicago may pull it off, GB got the victory on the road. Barkley and his 3 interceptions was the dagger that gave GB the edge. Rodgers did not find the end zone, but GB crushed Chicago on the ground.

Atl vs SF
ATL continues to look absolutely deadly on offense. Firing on all cylinders. I will not want to play this team in the playoffs if they continue to keep putting up tons of points on the board. They could be a team that people overlook going into the playoffs that could make it to the SB.

NE vs Denver:
Brady and the Pats are just too much for Denver. They controlled the ball the entire game and dominated the clock leaving Denver off the field and not giving them a chance to get the offense going.

Oakland vs SD:
What a game. Both teams were neck and neck the entire game and it went all the way down to the wire. Oakland prevails in the end as they had an edge on the ground game and controlled the clock. The O line wore out SD in the end.

Arizona vs NE
Talk about offense. Both teams put up 30+ Points. Drew Brees and the Saints get the offense moving again after being slow the last few weeks. They get a big road W vs the Cards.

My fantasy team wishes TB had a better run defense.

And when Dak only throws 4 incompletions all game. hard to really lose to a team who runs for 150+ yards and is nearly perfect through the air.
The cowboys are not making mistakes, which is why they are so damn successful right now.
3 Picks by Winston did not help, nor was the fumble he had in the first quarter to put the boys right in the redzone and Zeke going for the Salvation army touchdown lol

Pats are 12-2 also.

Wonder why you're the only obnoxious **** on this thread? Maybe it's because they've actually been good for the last 20 years, so they don't feel the need to cling to their teams record to establish their own self worth.

Pat's are nasty that's for sure. I'm just not sure they can take it all the way without gronk. Still gonna be the team to beat in the AFC no matter what. However I do think my Steelers have a shot and so do the raiders

Honestly, this year seems to be so wide open as far as who can win it. Usually it's like 1-2 teams each conference...this year it feels like 3-4.

Agreed sir.

All i am saying... If Atlanta continues to play like they are... They could beat anyone... ANYONE on any given day
This is why they line up and play football. Nothing is set in stone.

I have a feeling the playoffs will be a lot more interesting then we think. Until then... we wait till Thursday for more football, College Football is on almost everyday now...

Tis' the season.

Giants RB Shane Vereen has reinjured his triceps; CB Janoris Jenkins has no organ damage...as it was initially thought it was a spine injury.

-Texans announce that money-bags Osweiler will be QB2 and they will roll with Tom Savage vs Cincy.

-Jags announce that Tom Coughlin will be on their list of interviews. This would be a great fit for him. I remember hearing that he wanted to be on Gus Bradley's staff as a consultant. Young team could benefit from his discipline and structure. Doug Marrone is interim for now.

Falcons optimistic that WR Julio Jones returns vs Carolina

Panthers LB Luke Kuechly cleared the concussion protocol but didnt play last night. Slim playoff hopes...with his history, I sit him unless in the playoffs.

Brows will start RGIII on Sunday...'with a short leash'; WR Terrelle Pryor has a torn ligament in his finger...will try and play through it (for whatever reason) and have a procedure in the offseason.

-After virtually no protection on a play and taking what looked like terrible hits (from Suh and Wake) Jets QB Bryce Petty only suffered bruising.

New York Giants fined $150k, Coach McAdoo fined $50k, and fourth round pick moved to end of round for use of walkie talkies in Dal game.

The only thing that is annoying about the harshness is iirc the one drive they used them ended in an interception.

Yea I guess in perspective of what that amount of money is to an organization and being 4th round it's not so bad.

^^^ Came in to post that.

News:

Giants, Ben McAdoo fined for use of walkie-talkies vs. Cowboys
The NFL fined the New York Giants $150,000 and coach Ben McAdoo $50,000 for the illegal use of walkie-talkies during their Week 14 victory over the Dallas Cowboys, the league announced Tuesday.

There was no formal announcement made to the team for Jaguars head coaching firing.
Making the situation even more awkward was that a lot of players found out about the firing via social media

Jets discipline Sheldon Richardson for profanity-laced Snapchat post
Coach Todd Bowles, who called Richardson's actions "detrimental to the team," met Tuesday morning with Richardson. He refused to divulge details of the punishment, saying he wants to keep it in-house

Remember Dak was drafted in 4th round. 1 of 5 pro bowlers on Big D.

Well he is an aberration who was drafted by a team that was 12-4 two years ago. Granted he is obviously playing good, but he is surrounded by so much offensive talent it's crazy. QB position seems to be one of the hardest to predict.

So what?
Brady was one of the last picks of the NFL Draft and look where he is now..

Sometimes going #1 does not always mean your a great QB or a star in the NFL
Tebow, Manziel, Leaf Anyone???

Anyone can get a steal at any round in the NFL, just depends on the players work ethic, and also where they land and what they have to play with.. Put Goff behind that Offensive line (Dallas which could be the best in the league) or Wentz and I bet they would be having much better season's this year.

Not taking anything away from Dak or Zeke.. But when you got the best O-Line in the league you can do anything you want because you win the battle up front which is why the cowboys have been so dominant this year. Give any running back a hole to run through and they will hit it and excel.

RG3 ran more of read option and Shannon ruined his career. Dak is more a pocket passer. My point is that a 4th round pick docked from giants is actually a big deal.

Solution I agree line is great and it the most major part of the offense. But still the poise Dak has is not normal. It is also nice to see someone who is not a show off or smack talker. Case in point Kirk Cousins is a tool who screams every time he wins. Which is not a lot when you play in Washington.

Dak plays alot like Alex Smith with dak throwing the ball more down field

This is right around the time when the Giants start to shine.

Cowboys are very beatable and I'd honestly be surprised if they make it to the SB.

I'm just dying to see the Raiders go back to NE. Finally payback time and the Piper is calling.

Go Raiders!

That game was straight bull****. Both roughing the passers were horse**** and the noncall on Shepherd is embarrassing.

How can players get fined for not following the rules but if a ref misses a CB having a WR in an arm bar it's cool..

Eli also looked like garbage. Under/Over threw OBJ on at least three TDs. But that game was definitely ours. Refs screwed us with the noncall. Tye screwed us by being soft.

Lololololol.

That game was a triple win for me. Eagles take down the Giants, R. Matthews held under 7 fantasy points, and Beckham gets me 19 fantasy points in the championship game. :feelsgoodman:

Giant got themselves in a hole and could not recover. Wentz looked very effective last night, had some great plays and passes. His Arm strength is incredible, and how fast he can move in the pocket will make him a stud in the future. Sucks Philly is on their 2nd string O-Line to protect him.

NY Could of used some walky talkies maybe they would of won :)

Steelers and Ravens on XMAS!!

I work evenings so I don't get to watch football outside of my lunch break. I did see some of those scrambles when I thought for sure that Wentz was about to get sacked. 2 in the same drive where the Giants had defenders run straight through the line and he somehow avoided the turf.

Watching him duck those two guys and scramble for the first down was awesome. It's too bad he doesn't have any offensive weapons.

Bad WR Crew (agoholor or however you spell it) was a good draft pick, but has not lived up to his reputation. in college he did not drop a pass
he had a few that hit his hands and he drops totally. The bomb for 40 yards in the corner was a nice grab.

Sproles is good, but he is not an elite back.
he doesn't have a line like the cowboys. Given time Wentz will be a great QB, give him some protection and weapons and this guy will light up the field and make plays.. he can scramble, he can run down field and he can take the game in his hands.

He had a nice catch in the sideline before the field goal that was challenged and ruled as a catch. He seems like he has been doing better the last few weeks since they brought in Turner and Treggs. I did hear that he had a pretty nasty drop in this game. I didn't get to see it though.

Eli threw and interception on 100% of his walkie talkie drives lol

Refs definitely were bad in huge spots, but if no pick six we don't have to worry about them and how bad they suck. I have begun to expect it from the refs.

Every game I've watched this season, there has been terrible officiating. These guys get paid some good money to suck.

Kinda like a lot of nfl players.
