2009 College Football Season

Eagles’ Ingram (Florida '09) has torn ACL in left knee

Damn. I was so looking forward to him playing here for the Eagles. He had a great camp and was expected to get a lot of playing time. Two ACL tears in same knee in two years, not good..

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Philadelphia Eagles rookie tight end Cornelius Ingram has suffered a torn ACL in his left knee and is likely out for the season.

The team said an MRI scan taken Saturday revealed the injury he sustained on Tuesday.

The fifth-round pick missed his senior season at Florida after tearing the ACL in the same knee almost exactly a year ago.

That guy can't catch a break. And the same ACL too.

On a more positive note, Glen Coffee signed his contract with the 49ers, so hopefully he'll see some playing time behind Frank Gore this season. I should be able to make it out to a couple of games at Candlestick.

Oh, and OG... according to my Scott Foresman Math 5th Grade Teachers Edition, there's usually no need to carry the zeros after the decimal more than three places, unless an appropriate comparison is being made, so... C+

My first prediction for the '09 season: At season's end, Florida will not have moved up in the rankings.

:thinking::thinking::thinking:

USA Today Preseason Coaches Poll

1. Florida (53)
2. Texas (4)
3. Oklahoma (1)
4. USC (1)
5. Alabama
6. Ohio State
7. Virginia Tech
8. Penn State
9. LSU
10. Ole Miss

Oh, and Cal Bears at #12! So, I hate preseason polls as much as the next guy, but... discuss the SEC rightfully making up 40% of the top ten.

i firmly believe that the USA today coaches pre season poll are getting their palms greased by an otherwise politically corrupt south east us state government. It's a crooked way of boosting revenue to states that have absolutley nothing going for them(except florida).

BTW the 2 big 10 teams (20% of the top 10 poll) need to be reversed in their corresponding rankings:laugh2:

Hmmm... I'm pretty sure there's no state called south east us. Christ, what the hell do they teach you people out there in Infinitesimal Eleven country?

Great theory though, Mulder.:privateeye:

I could wake up this thread, but I feel I need another day or two before I "go live". In a couple days I will be ready for the "cyber stoning" to commence.:mischievous:

Hey plenny, just read Rivals' Big Ten Preview. They said the following about Penn State:

1. They have the best offensive player in the conference.
2. They have the best defensive player in the conference.
3. They have the best defensive newcomer in the conference.
4. They have the best defensive coordinator in the conference.
5. They have the best overall coaching in the conference.
6. They have the easiest schedule in the conference.

So it's pretty obvious who they picked to win the Big Ten this year... right???...

Ohio State??!!!

Ah man, the Nittany Lions are the Rodney Dangerfield of the Big Ten!

Here are the most humorous tidbits from Dienhart's column:

"It's an ugly truth that won't go away, a story line that will be beaten to death until the Big Ten stops getting beat to death by teams from outside the conference: When will the Big Ten become an elite conference on the field again? Here are the cold, hard, ugly facts for a league that looks up at the SEC and Big 12 from a performance standpoint: The Big Ten has lost six consecutive BCS games and is 9-20 in all bowls over the past four seasons. Last season may have been the nadir, when the league went 1-6 in bowls.

MOST EMBARRASSING GAME: Eastern Illinois at Penn State, Oct. 10. Honestly, you could pick most any non-conference game for the Nittany Lions. They all are a j-o-k-e. But this one vs. a Football Championship Subdivision speed bump takes the cake. An intra-squad scrimmage might be more entertaining."

I don't mind really. I've grown quite a thick skin through the 13 yrs of ups and downs with 'em. But I'm really proud of the bowl showing last season. I had almost forgotten what a bowl win felt like! Now we gotta get a BCS win, and a win over USC this year! Shake down the thunder b*tches!

Lame Kiffin, drenched in a nervous sweat, just tried to explain to Jim Rome that he acted like a juvenile retard for seven months solely to "help with recruiting."

Watching Rome interview this clown cements in my mind that Kiffin is truly in over his head.

LMAO - Yeah I saw that too.

That deer in the headlights of a Mack Truck look :puppy_dog_eyes: (with a Florida license plate) was priceless.

Just 34 days (September 19) till that truck makes a pile of roadkill in Gainesville.

At least my dad invited me up to Happy Valley to see a better game than Eastern Illinois ....
I get to see PSU take on the mighty Akron "Zips" on September 5.
Yep, that's right, I scored tickets to see the Nittany Lions take on those friggin' Zips. Eat your heart out.

From rivals.com: "Penn State appears to be applying for MAC membership with games against Akron and Temple".

I can't wait until Florida tears Tennessee a new azzhole!!

I'd be willing to bet that Georgia doesn't even make a bowl game this year. I really have NO idea how a team can lose the QB/RB/WR that they lost and people rank them higher this year than they finished last year. By far the MOST overrated team in college football this year.

Really?

I'd be willing to take that bet, if it were allowed here.

And it's not, so consider yourself lucky. :147:

What the?!

Already 23 pages??

Damn!

Rebuilding season for the 'Dawgs, but we're still going to upset Florida!!

Welcome back, Tony. The gators will be feasting on some Bulldog come October 31st, haha.

Chomp, Chomp, Chomp!!! :D

He thinks pro football with the raiders was bad. Heh. This is the south. He will be gang raped, plunger style.

I remember watching LSU play Akron back in the 90s in Baton Rouge.

The maw****in ZIPS!

Rebuilding season for the 'Dawgs, but we're still going to upset Florida!!

Lol no. Thats Auburn.

Auburn will not lose to Georgia.. the only thing Auburn is rebuilding is there coaching staff. They did not lose much on offense or defense. Look at Auburns schedule last year again, they could of easily won 8 or 9 games if it wasnt for a coaching staff who did not get along nor want to be there. Keep dreaming though, and when Auburn starts spanking people just remember that I told you so.

You might be right.

But then again, you might be wrong. I'm not convinced you can blame their poor performance on the coaching staff, who several years before, went undefeated, if I'm not mistaken.

Anyhow, I think Auburn will probably lose 4 games this year. Most likely to 'Bama, Ole Miss, LSU, and yes, UGA.

They had a new oc which got fired half way through the season. The team could NOT score. Defense was great as always but with no offense not much you can do.

ahhhhh.....good job on finding a page created by some burned out pothead that probably goes to an inferior state school somewhere in the backwoods of alabama or arkansas. However i do agree, we are overwhelmed by state and federal prisons (great pay..great benefits though) yeah lycoming county, home of williamsport and the little league world series attracts people from around the world and generates millions$$$. The next time you eat a Hershey Bar, think of Pennsylvania. At the Gym, if your 45lb plate says "YORK" think of Pennsylvania. When you put your nightlight on..think Ben Franklin..a Pennsylvanian, who discovered electricity. Next time you watch classic nfl films and see joe nameth, joe montana, jim kelly..HMMM!! does pennsylvania breed good football players? Ask JOPA:bling:

you have balls gator.....now go practice with Charleston Southern in the swamp on Sep 5th...at least Penn St travels to some of their cupcake games. No, not almighty florida..they blow the small schools out at home to draw more hype and fans and that generates$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. It would be a kick in the balls if Troy( uh? troy...whatever) upset the gators in the swamp..now go eat a snickers!!:laugh2:

LOL! And none of them went to Pennsylvania colleges! Btw, when I see Namath, I think of crimson and white... or drunken interviews with female sideline reporters.

Gotta say no surprise with Flordia #1 it shouldnt be anyone else. As long as superman is at QB they are going to win.

Already said the Gators have one of their easier schedules in years, specifically in regard to non-conference games. Even still, 2009 SOS: Florida #32, PSU #74. 32 is bad enough, 74 is worse than a joke for a team with the proud history of Penn State.

Unfortunately for PSU, this year's schedule has become the rule rather than the exception. It only hurts the Lions. If things don't change, it would be a damn shame. They will make some progress with Alabama on non-conference schedule the next 2 years, but they have got to get Temple off their "forever" game list.
