20 years old and prolly suffering from Adrenal Fatigue (need some help)

I beleive I am suffering from either low T or Adrenal Fatigue. About a little over 1 year ago I went to my Primary Phyician and told him what I thought (Low T) and my symptoms.

Basically he said no way (I was only 19 at time) and did some tests for Diabetes (it does run in my family) and checked the size of my testicles. Diabetes test came back negative and he had me on my way, with nothing solved. He said problems w my sex drive and erection strength were prolly due to my anti-histamine (I never had problems w it b4) and didnt even care about my fatigue or anything else.

So I now realize I need to actually get my hormone levels done, and I was wondering if I need to go to another primary Doc and get reccomended to an ENDO or if I can just make an appointment w one?

BTW I didnt even know anything about Adrenal Fatigue till last night. I noticed the article said that if you often think this "I was never the same since _____ happened" then its likely your suffering from adrenal fatigue. Well, I was never the same sicne I got really sick off strep throat (and had some impetigo, both caused my strep) a while back.

On the quiz of 10 questions I answered yes to like 7 of them.

So is adrenal fatigue just a cause of Low T levels kinda like hypogonadism is?

Thanks 4 all the help!

By low sex drive I mean I have a smokin hot girl freind that Ive been with for 2 years. Ive had to force myself to have sex w here everytime we do just to keep her happy (In my mind). I dont get random boners like I used to and I should. Practically no morning wood or sexual thoughts/desires throughout the day. When I do force myself to have sex erections are maybe 90%......

Congratulations on the smoking hot girlfriend.

You can not trust drs to be good. You have to get the blood levels done and know what is going on before you see them.

I am in a similar situation. I had a dr tell me at 22 there is no way due to my build (6 ft 205 muscular) that I have low test.

He was dead wrong. I went the next 18 years wondering why I feel lousy day in and day out. And my test ended up being low all along. In other words....I have lost half of my life.

I have a very good doc now, but I know they all have strengths and weaknesses so I trust but verify.

Too many people associate low test with mental issues like depression or anxiety. I had your same problems and my issue turned out to be stress levels and other issues that were put into check.

My test levels were great the whole time. Even during the no sex drive part. it's not like once you have high test levels you suddenly and automatically become a sex machine. Keep that in mind :)

ok? im not asking to be a sex machine.

are you guys trying to say that fatigue, low libido, ect at my age doesnt sound like low T but could likely be high cortisol?

Have you ever altered your natural hormone levels? have you used stimulants for an extended period of time? Are you happy with your career? Do you do cardio?

never done anything to mess w hormones, i dont use stimulants or anything

im in college and ist easy so im guesing its not cortisol

cardio everyonce in a while and very healthy, barely drink, dont smoke, i eat great

Dr. John,
I saw your post about the hypothetical patient that can drink 3 Diet Mt. Dew's and fall asleep in another thread (but couldn't find that thread...so I posted this here).

I know I'm by-passing alot of checks here - but is it reasonable to assume adrenal fatigue if I'm exhibiting those symptoms now?
I've been on diet soda (2/3 cans per day) plus stuff like Basic Cuts and Rampage and Amp (nearly every day) for what seems like 6 months (had a nearly month long break from caffeine in May). I've also been on some cortisol-reducing supplements (not sure if that would adversely affect the adrenals or not) like Restore.

I've noticed I feel pretty fatigued lately. I'm having trouble staying awake at work. I'm deathly afraid of that - so I take most of the diet soda/caff. pills at work (pretty sure I'd be fired if someone found me asleep).

I've had TSH and cortisol checked maybe in mid-2005 (for sure in late 2004) and they were OK (within range - because I don't remember the Dr. saying I had any issues on my last 2 yearly blood tests).

So - I'm not completely just by-passing testing but I'm wondering if one of these Isocort type of supplements might be a good check of adrenal fatigue. (I.E. if they work/help me feel better while getting off caffeine slowly - then I probably have some form of adrenal fatigue.)

I'd go to my Dr. with this - but I don't trust him all that much....

Thank you for any help you could possibly provide.

I wonder if this could help?
I saw that and wondered the same but Im pretty sure its mainly just adaptogens

I decided Im gonna find a new primary Doc and go and tell I want a blood test and why, then go from there

Yeah - I'm going to get some of that Somewhat. That was my first though - because it's cheaper than Isocort (from what I've seen....).
