2 weeks off?

No its not too much time, sometimes its healthy in fact. Your muslce will have memory and youll see that it might take only a week or so to get back to where you were...thank god for muscle memory. Sometimes when you take in all sorts of supplements and have a crazy diet its good to take a few weeks off and let your body naturalize as far as cholesterol and other ill effects of bulking. But dont sweat 2 weeks.

I take 2 weeks off every few months to give my body a break...heard it's benefitial once in a while but also for me adds variation

Definately so but would this have anything to do about how they say that a few days/weeks out of the month we should completely do a different set of workouts or a different routine?...(because are bodies/muscles and whatnot get used to the same routine that we actually see diminishing/slow growth over time?)...anybody know?

It is recommended to switch up your routine every 6 or so weeks because your muscles will become used to the routine. What I would suggest is that if you don't plan on taking any time off of lifting that you switch up your routine every 6 weeks..completely switch your excercises and youll notice that newby soreness after (good thing)..but if you do plan on taking a few weeks off then you can come back with a different routine for at least 6 weeks...How I usually guage taking a few weeks off is when my body starts to feel run down or I can feel a cold coming on...because we know that your body isnt going to recoup well if it is fighting a cold or something...

Another important aspect of taking some time off is the mental side. We all say that we are motivated for the gym but we also become complacent and lose that hard core drive after a while of straight lifting...take a few weeks off...enjoy yourself and come back with a vengence..

Either change the routine or up the weight, i do the same exercises but jus switch the order of them every week, seems to always work pretty well

2 weeks is nuttin'. If your muscle is "mature", meaning you've had it for awhile it can withstand a month or even 2 months off without losing too much.

If you are like me, you will go batty in that 2 months, but 2 weeks is good for you IMO. You give your CNS some time to recoup from the onslaught of daily life and hard training.
