I got a dude sitting facing a barbell on a bench that's laid atop a mountain of skulls. He's fückin sweet!

Actually lodging fell through, so we're going home. When we get home, we're going to drink beer.

EDIT: Those trophies are outrageously obnoxious. It's excellent.

Big day! 1500 next time?!

545/365/555 next time, man! Really, I'm just going to train my ass off, show up on meet day with a goal of 5lb PRs, and a very fluid plan as far as attempts.

I can't express how discouraged I was warming up for squats. I was certain I was going to bomb. I pulled two squats out of my ass and then my opening bench I smoked until my wrists turned over. At that point, I was done stressing. It was like the bar said "Fück you, Dude." And I said "No, it's my turn to fück you." And I did. A rollercoaster.
 
Way to do work my man. Congrats. And they do how obnoxious trophies. Nice dead too man, I'm impressed.

That squat wasn't nearly as good morningy as you let on.

Lol. You know how it goes when the bar's on your back, man. Exaggeration runs rampant. I guess what would be more accurate is that I got forward and by the grace of God finished the lift.

Yeah, with the 3m spiral wrap, we actually spiraled down and spiraled it all the way back up. I like that wrap a lot. I took a PR second with the thought process of "I have no legs or hips right now, and I'm in the meet, so fück it, best case is one more successful lift."

555 was freaking textbook perfect form. Nothing broke down, but once I got past where the wraps take you, I stuck for a second and then sunk back to the bottom. Nothing in my legs. I could feel that bench would be fine, had no idea deadlift would go so well. Immediately after squat, I wanted to take my last deadlift warmup as my first attempt, 475. Hit 505 for a full meet deadlift PR, and get out of dodge. My warmups went 315 beltless smoked. 365 beltless smoked, 405 belted good, 455 good, and I knew it was PR time.
 
Oh YEAH. Watched a guy (a BIG BOY) pull his 675 opener in a spud belt that blew out when the bar was at his knees. So he switched to a lever belt for 725. Missed it at lockout. Apparently the lever belt was not his jam. So he walked up to the platform for the second-to-last pull of the meet and pulled 725 without a belt.

No wrap limits either?

3m for raw modern and for amateur equipped. Amateur multi-ply is 3m wraps and double ply briefs + double ply suit limit. Pro equipped is non drug tested, unlimited equipment (3-ply, 3.5m wraps).
 
Oh yeah, Dave Tate was at the meet for a couple hours toward the end of the day. That was super cool.
 
Awesome stuff. You lied about that squat though....was MUCH better than what I envisioned when you typed it up. :D

Thanks man! Pendlay Do-Wins. Love them for squatting and benching. Hate them for deadlifting. Obvs pull in Chucks. Might start pulling in the Do-Wins in training to make it harder.

I need to try a near max effort in my chucks. I absolutely hate them for rep work.
