13 Weeks to RPS Rawdawg Nats: Herder's PUUUGHE Comeback

You could also set the pins at that height where you stick and do dead stop pressing from the pins. (sans leg drive)

Hmmm...now I have about 10 options. I'll especially toy around with a lot of these after my December meet.

Yea, your bench is really your stand out lift IMO...granted you are strong all around. You just seemed to be way ahead on bench. Still are strong as **** on it. I have faith you'll beat that PR.

Yeah, I was way wayy ahead on bench at the beginning of the year. My deadlift was just poor, and my squats were ugly. I've always squatted and deadlifted, just never heavy. Luckily, I had some quads, hams, and ass. Just needed to build the hips. It's funny how fast the hips get strong once you start training them well.

Hell yeah! Of course do this. Low pin presses, sticking point pin presses, low Lilly presses, sticking point Lilly presses. What you'll have there is a nice ass bench.

All this bench press talk is making me hungry to go train

I'm just hungry for food. And deadlifts too, I guess. But I have to wait on the pulls. The food is coming in hot.

This is an over set I did before my reps. Moved as well as it ever has for me in training, I'd say.

Rep Deadlifts

Hardest Day of the cycle, just like last cycle

425x5,4

425x5 is a PR

6" Blocks
455x3

2" Blocks
455x2 this is a brutal spot for me.

2" Deficit
405x6,5 done with no belt.

Reverse Hyper
100 total

After my last set of deficits, I had a double trap cramp, right at the very upper inner corner of my scaps. They're still spasming as I write this. So I called it a day. Pretty awesome day at that. I didn't think I'd do as well as I did, my lower traps were a little beat up from yesterday and my lower back was still funky from that one bad safety bar squat on Sunday. On my last set of deficits, I did something to get me to quit looking at the ceiling when I try to grind out a pull. Try it on squats or deads if you're having trouble driving your head into the bar:

I love how you timed out the "from the things that make me hate!" And boom! Weights go up like butter. Awesome work and song selection.

I like the little scream right before. Sounds like someone about to be me see in a horror movie

I honestly have no clue how you know the lyrics to these metal songs. I just need the noise and yelling sometimes.

Makes sense how you seemed to have no idea when I quoted the song "eyeless" when it was in one of your videos awhile back lol

Not a clue, man. Disturbed, Korn, and Linkin Park were more my groove back in the day. Don't have any Korn CDs in the shack, though. That's gotta be rectified.

What's up with you guys and CDs? If only there was something that could hold a whole bunch of music on one device....

I could lift to LP for days. Disturbed and Korn.... yes. And it only gets better from there.

Try downloading music with dial-up, smoker.

I would leave my computer up and running overnight with a bunch of songs cued up ready to go. I'd wake up and have one or two new songs.

The way I see it, albums are, or used to be, put together to be listened to as a whole. But with iPods and crap nowadays, people don't even listen to the second verse. Speaking of Korn and the death of albums:

I do enjoy whole albums man. Listened to LP reanimation like 3 times in a row the other night in its entirety. Some I care for some I don't but as a whole it's something different.

You're right. Some albums are good, and some aren't. Hell, most of the albums I have at my disposal in the shed I bought because I knew one or two songs. The rest is a crapshoot. That to me is cool. How are they gonna be? Only one way to find out. I remember my senior year, me and the guy I rode to school with were all busy getting psyched for the new LP album and it came out and he was creaming his shyt and I'm sitting there like "This SUCKS. They need to get back to what they did before." That's what's cool about music, this coming from one of the least musical people in the world (me). But it's the same way with all art. I enjoy the stage, literature, and mythology as well, lots of people think that stuff is dry and/or boring.

Any ozzy album is great fellas. Can't go wrong buying one any of his

I have Blizzard of Oz and Black Sabbath's Greatest Hits of the Ozzy Years. Though I wouldn't have minded having the hits from Ronnie James Dio's Sabbath. I already have Dio's Greatest Hits.

Rainbow in the Dark and Holy Diver FTW.

2 farking awesome dio classics. Always wanted go see him live, missed my chance forever now.

I don't care for dio much with sabbath, except the heaven and hell album.

I think rob is one of the few who just respects ozzy but doesn't like his solo work.
Only stuff I don't like of his is the newer stuff. I don't care for much.

Apparently I needed a lot of recovery time yesterday. I got off work early and laid down for a nap. Woke up from my nap around 11pm. So, rather than wait around for 8 hours to go to work, I went back to sleep. Now my hips/trunk are all super tight. Gotta lube up all day today and then hit some OHP, CGBP, WGBP and a ton of back work, biceps, triceps, and probably some Reverse Hypers and furniture slider hamstring curls.

Weight was down to 229, so I remedied the situation with country fried steak and gravy, six eggs, four pieces of toast, potatoess, and two Coca Colas. That was also a nice end to my unexpected fast.

Way to turn things around. Lol

Biscuits n gravy, NOM NOM NOM.

Tried to remedy my weight loss the past few weeks with an extra 1k cals, down another 1lb this morning, DAFUK

You power lifters have it made......my coach would punch me in the Dik if I ate what you ate lol.

Sub'd to learn, per Sean's reco. Will initiate my own log once I recover from this brutal case of bronchitis/sinusitis, and get back to the gym, where I largely confine myself to the purple, pink, and neon green DBs.

That **** ain't right, NomZ. Take that metabolism and get it tuned down.

EDIT: Should've gotten biscuits with my meal. Damnit!

Welcome! Glad to have you aboard.

Alright, today's a big day! Gonna hit my standard upper assistance day. Gunning for 200 for reps on OHP, some big ol' close grips, and some wide grip benching as well. Maybe even get some handoffs today so I can bash out some really heavy stuff. See how the biceps tendon holds together, then hit some sumo pulls if my hips feel up to the task and then... Pound. More. Back. Big day, big day.

And there was apple butter, too! Right there on the table! I already get looks for using two of those apple butter packets on each piece of toast.

I'm worried about you, buddy. That's alarming.

****ing love apple butter.

Na rly, mostly glycogen, water, and bloat.

That's what happens when I don't watch my diet, I undereat, but I usually take a 2 week break after meets from the monotony of counting macros. Back to it. I can afford to lose some fat anyways, cannot see my abs relaxed now...

Mashing before I BBBC.

Damn you on so many levels! I remember that time when I could see my abs relaxed NAHT. And Boss . . . Say what's up to Dan for me. Cause he knows who I am and shyt.

I TOLD you guys it was gonna be a big day! Let's get right to it.

OHP
205x2 that's gotta be a strict OHP PR. Laid back a smidge, not bad though.

CGBP
275x4 bossin it
295x2 Yup
320x2 Previous 1RM on CGBP was 315

Feeling good, I decided to throw a touch more weight on the bar and move out to my comp grip.

340x3 PR Paused even!

Such a huge validation. My bench has been stuck since April, and I've changed arch, feet, grip, gotten high rep PRs, dealt with pain, all to no avail. So this cycle I decided to throw everything at it and see what sticks. And it's working! Don't know exactly what's doing it, don't care at the moment. The weight felt feather light in my hands and I fought through some less than ideal bar path. Thrilled with this, just gotta keep tabs on my bicep and stay healthy until meet day.

Here's the vid. napalm, am I allowed to open with it, pretty please? :D

I decided to forego sumo pulls today. Let my anterior hip feel good. I've widened my feet on bench and it's a little more uncomfortable. Must be good!
