Checked the RPS website, got the #2 all time squat in the 220lb 20-23yr old drug tested raw with knee wraps' the #4 all time full meet bench in that division, and #5 total. Missed the all time squat by 10lbs, the #3 bench by 5lbs, and the #4 total by 5lbs. Though I feel I should be clear, "all time" for this federation is about two years. Lol. Now it's time to take aim at the open division!
I'm glad I didn't have those numbers memorized, or I could have really messed with myself, jumping from 505 to 550 and missing would have been devastating. I could certainly have gotten 355, but we knew that.
If I could get my deadlift rolling, I could really start going big. I noticed that a lot of the guys that trained at Lexen and were in this meet looked very average in terms of size and musculature, like some guys just saw a flyer at a coffee shop and decided to do this powerlifting meet. The thing is, they all pulled HUGE. We're talking 540, 590, 650, et cetera. And these are guys that weren't putting up big totals, just big deadlifts. You can see it on the meet results at revolutionpowerlifting.com, any guy you see that had moderate squat and bench and a huge pull = Lexen trained. I need some deadlift coaching like that!
