Like the title says I'm 13 days out from my first bodybuilding competition. Did a physique show in 2013 but had a horrible coach and didn't know what I was doing haha my stats are 22 yo, 6'1", current morning weight 190, stage weight 185 (light heavyweight), between 4-5%. Upper body has leaned out great but my legs are being stubborn. They're coming around but still need touching up. Low carbs starts tomorrow for a few days then it's slow increase till show day. Any advice, tips, encouragement, etc is more than appreciated!! First two pics are about 2 weeks ago and the last was earlier this week Invalid Link RemovedInvalid Link RemovedInvalid Link Removed

Looks great my man! Good luck to you! Keep us updated on how it goes for you; I'm sure you'll do well. Just get your sleep and keep a positive attitude through this low carb period. Worst time of your life haha keep your head up and just know what's waiting for you at the end!

Thanks man I appreciate it! First two days weren't so bad but I'm drained today and of course I'm training quads. Bout to go see the coach here soon

6 days out, extremely low carbs so I'm flat and no vascularity but I know once we add those in and drop water everything is gonna shred up. This pics were taking earlier this weekInvalid Link RemovedInvalid Link RemovedInvalid Link RemovedInvalid Link Removed

Awesome sir! How much water and carbs are you doing right now? If you don't mind me asking... and at what point are you going to up them? I know some coaches are real picky about letting out their methods so I won't be offended if you don't respond haha

Only carbs I'm having around right around my weight training. I'm doing a half cup of oats before and usually a rice cake after. Water is really high, 3 gallons, to flush everything. The rest of the plan is gonna be laid out on Sunday when I see my coach

Sounds solid... solid and miserable haha I love my carbs. Looks good and sounds good, keep us updated!

Id stop the cardio now. I've had a couple people hold water from alot of cardio Cut the cardio back and if its edema, it will resolve

Start doing some very high rep sets while leg training! Like 30-50 reps. It helps with separation in the quad muscles! Try this....100 rep leg ext after your leg workout rest pause style. Now leave your ego at the door bud. You are probably only gonna be able to start at 50-85lbs. Rest for only a few deep breathes. It is very very intense! Also you can drop the weight 2-4 times....trust me, you will have to!

Yea I've been doing lots of high rep work. I'll try the leg extension thing on my next quad workout. I've done it before and that's a serious burn. No pain no gain right? Lol

Lots of factors at play, but the high volume work could very well cause water retention in the legs...which isn't really a problem if you let them recover enough before the show and drop water effectively...there is a lot of pressure now days to take the 1, 2, 5 week out picture already be really dry. Get all the social media accolades...but all that matters is how you look when you walk on that stage. The way I do my water manipulation, I don't give a **** if I'm looking watery most of peak week. I drop water hard the day before the comp

Well the legs came around beautifully. Weighed in at 188 (light heavy), body came in dry and full. Possibly coulda been more full for prejudging. Had three absolute monsters in my class. I was by far the youngest at 22, everyone else was at least a couple years older. Got a lotta size to gain before I'm ready to bring it home. If I didn't mess up the order of the pics, the first is the day before, others are prejudging and the two that aren't me is the monster that won my class and the overall

Congrats on your first show man, you looked solid. Like you mentioned, once you add some more size you should do quite well.

Thanks yall. Yea at least 15lbs contest weight will be a good stars

Nice job brother! You'll learn soo much each time you prep. And it gets easier to bring those legs in leaner and leaner each time...kinda like your body gets used to dropping the fat. Bodybuilding is a marathon not a sprint, takes a lot more time than people think to build a truly impressive physique. Love the process and keep finding ways to get better, and you'll get where you want to be...lots of potential
