    Ketosis and sleep.

A kg is 2.2 lbs...that in a week is not slow at all. Unless you're obese, it's going to be extremely difficult to sustain that kind of pace. Congratulations because I know that takes hard work and determination but keep that in mind

Tri. ext. vs Skullcrusher vs. Tri. cable push Dn.

Just another reason to avoid prison: no parallel dip bars

Tri. ext. vs Skullcrusher vs. Tri. cable push Dn.

That's more or less replicating the shoulder extension and internal rotation that makes bench dips so terrible for your shoulders, if i'm picturing that correctly. It's dips. They're awesome but, in my opinion, here are plenty of other ways to get strong or build an awe-inspiring upper body...

Tri. ext. vs Skullcrusher vs. Tri. cable push Dn.

Yeah do not do bench dips. End range int. rotation and extension and then some guys want to load it with stacks of plates? Not sure they've really taken the time to think that through

    Hitting shoulder twice a week?

Can we stop saying "don't over train". That's such an antiquated warning with little to no consideration for the million things that would come into play. it's not as simple as, "don't train shoulders 3x a week, you'll overtrain". In fact, with most people, you're far more likely to end up with...

    Summer Reading- Programming

Yeah I figured that'd be a safe route. I've read some of Verkoshanski's stuff before. Appreciate the responses guys

    Making up

Don't sweat the little things until you're advanced enough with specific goals that ride on them (bb or figure contest). With that said, a mess up day in the kitchen can easily be +1000 cals and if that's the case, you're not going to burn that off going hard the next day. Get back on track and...

    Summer Reading- Programming

Pretty self explanatory. Looking for input on some summer reading and i'm looking for some things you guys have read regarding programming that you'd suggest. Thanks in advance

Is my 5/3/1 BBB Workout Good?

There's nothing inherently wrong with high rep deadlifting. The argument of technique problems isn't unique to that lift and could just as easily be stated for high rep squatting. OP, this is a fine approach and will probably prove far more effective than haphazardly throwing together your own...

    First Meet

Congrats, man. I've been dragging my feet about finding a meet around me to pop my cherry as well.

    Need some help

You're going to get a lot of people telling you to use a tried and proven program like 5/3/1, any of the 5x5 variations, Layne Norton's P.H.A.T., etc. Take a look at those. You're also going to need to provide more information such as training experience, goals and other things like that

    current split?

Working sets of other exercises are going to fatigue you more than it's going to warm you up. O/H Press allows for the greatest amount of load for your delts and fatiguing them prior just limits the amount you can use. Why limit the exercise with the greatest potential in that regard?

    Deadlift Form Check Video

I was watching the sets at 275 and as mentioned, before the bar even breaks the floor your shoulders move over the bar and the hips rise. On the 370 attempt, this also causes the bar to drift out in front which is why it looks like it bangs against your thighs as you try to lock out

    am i overtraining?

Do more work with the compound exercises and get rid of the 1 set of all of those tedious, low return, exercises. You're not overtraining but you're throwing the kitchen sink at yourself with little to no rationalization for many of those movements

    Gym machines

It's not necessarily a new stimulus if It's the same joint action. A machine chest press and the bench are the same joint actions. The strength curve will be altered for some lifts, say curls, but not all of them

Leg workout to battle back pain

For the purpose of this thread? Whichever doesn't aggravate your low back. That's the whole point of these alternatives

help me with my back please!!!

Firstly, don't use words like tone. A muscle gets bigger or smaller. You accumulate or lose fat. Secondly, continue to train your back with horizontal rows (chest supported rows, db rows, bb rows, inverted rows, etc.), vertical pulling (pull ups, pull downs), and then incorporate upper trap work...

Leg workout to battle back pain

I'll second unilateral leg work. It can provide a strong stimulus while often times using 1/2 the weight. Rear foot elevated squats (DB or BB and even BB front squats), lunges, etc

    Core, How and How Often?

Not so much anymore because I've given up my more athletic endeavors and will stick to owning old men in flag football, but I used to try to incorporate unilateral pressing as a combo pressing + "anti" movement. 1 arm DB bench can be challenging, 1 arm o/h press (I prefer the landmine press if...

Help with making a split for my next "creatine" cycle

Knowing how to program the accessory work negates this issue. That's a very broad outline but your accessory work can and should absolutely be geared towards addressing weak points and imbalances.
