  • Talk to your doc about a med called Pletal (sp?). If I recall, it some how allows more red blood cells to be able to pass through a narrowed vein or something like that. I was on it for a bit but just for cost concerns dropped it. My doc allowed me to drop the Plavix too, stated there was little evidence it was much more helpful than 325mg aspirin.

    I tend to do all of my cardio on bikes, be it stationary or 18 speeds. That being said, I have done this for up to 50 minutes with not cramps. I think there is something about the mechanics of running/jogging that places more demand on the calf muscles, thereby increasing the chance of intermittent clottication. I was told to jut keep pushing it and things will improve as your body will grow ancilliary veins to make up the difference. Have to say I have been skeptical of this, as I have limited success. As and aside, controlling cholesterol levels and blood sugar is a must.
