Jimothy's Back (and worse than ever)

honestly in his current situation the play here is to just rip the shirt off to mow the front yard and establish your dominance over the rest of the neighborhood dads.

need a cup of sugar from the neighbors? go over shirtless.
taking the garbage out? no need for a shirt.
working on the car? nope, no shirt needed.

gotta go get the mail. boom.
I do most of those things shirtless here right now. Mowing is how I establish my base summer tan and I’m not putting a shirt on to run out to the curb for mail/trash. I’ve already switched to flip-flops 6/7 days of the week when not at the gym or a longer walk.

Legs from this morning. Crashed hard last night on my couch around 8:30 and woke up at 3:30ish.

Went back to bed for an hour or so and then got up for the gym. Felt pretty good, all things considered.

Atlantis Leg Ext: 310 x 7, 290 x 7
Atlantis Seated Ham Curl: 170 x 6, 155 x 6
Adduction: 260 x 7, 240 x 9
Cybex Calf Press: 240 x 7, 220 x 8
Glute Builder Kneeling Glute Iso: 180 x 7, 160 x 8
Pendulum Squat (w/ Torq ramp): 135 x 5, 115 x 6
Glute Builder Weighted 45 Deg. Hyper: 135 x 7, 135 x 7 (this is gonna be a fun one to build up some weight on, and should help keep my back feeling good. Will still be SLDLing on Saturdays, but think 2x a week is a recipe for disaster with my injury history)

Nah, that's the building's responsibility and they hire illegal immigrants for that.

man thats usually the worst lol. I tend to wake up at like 4:15-4:20 and if I even think about falling back asleep for some reason the 4:30am alarm clock is ten times more miserable 😂

Never did a pendulum squat until I went to EliteFTS in December. I think I maybe got 8 with 115, possibly 135; the loading was crazy, especially wearing lifters. Couldn’t decide if it was going to help build big legs or just make something explode. But one thing was obvious - it was going to absolutely cook them.

I'm a big fan. My old gym in Austin had one, and I'd use it all the time. Probably my favorite squat pattern for quads, but you're right that they are heavy as ****.

Part of the reason I decided to bite the bullet and get this second gym membership by the office was just so I could use the pendulum squat and seated ham curl. The other machines are just a nice bonus (and place is dead empty in the AM, which is almost impossible to find in NYC).

I’m a 2-membership guy myself and very happy with the flexibility it gives me.

I am a 3 myself, but one of them is $10 a month, so it barely even counts as a membership. LOL I keep my Planet Fitness because in my travels it is the most available gym so far. I have a Fitness Connection that is a local chain, and has a lot of good but run of the mill equipment, and then my bobybuilding / power lifting gym that is 24hr key fob access, and has excellent energy!

Jim over here taking a week off, must be some sorta Harvey Spectre style deload.

Rookie numbers! When I went through the big D and relocated I at one point had 3, when I owned the 4th one, and would drop into other gyms regularly to try them out lol 😂 😂 I think my max where I was a "member" was 5. One was $9.99/month a few miles from my loft, and that was how it all started cause I had zero money and was rebuilding around 2016. that worked well for the budget! Then they sold to planet fitness and on Jan 1st I came in, all the free weights were gone, so I said I want to cancel my membership, they literally had a streamlined process and a line of old members that all showed up that day to cancel lol.

I've actually still been hitting all of my sessions on this trip, just haven't been logging in to log them and tracking a bit of a silly exercise since they are different machines and whatnot, so can't track PO anyway.

Been absolutely eating my way through the UK though, so imagine I'm gonna have some work to do when I get back lol.

I could see that going two different ways 😂 as far as eating your way through the UK

Got home around midnight last night, so not a ton of rest before this morning's workout. Was feeling the fatigue a bit (most noticeable with grip), but moved some decent weight anyway.

Getting back into the routine today. Gonna have to assess where I'm at for this weekend's check-in, but feeling like a fucking water buffalo after the trip. Bodyweight up to 194.4 this AM (lmao).

Lat Pulldown: 180 x 8, 170 x 8
Prime CS Kelso Shrug: 225 x 8, 200 x 8
Prime Lat Pulldown: 270 x 8, 270 x 8
BB Shrug: 275 x 8, 275 x 5 (couldn't hold the sonofabitch, even with straps)
Prime Rear Delt: 190 x 6, 190 x 6 (first set with resistance at mid-range, second at lengthened)
Atlantis Preacher: 105 x 4, 90 x 5
Hammer Preacher: 90 x 7, 75 x 7
RG Cable Curl: 50 x 8, 50 x 8

dude for me its hydration... those early morning sessions when I'm under prepared, lack of sleep etc, always hit me the hardest if I don't pound serious electrolytes as soon as I wake up.

whats that like +14lbs?

Probably closer to 16 lol. Some fat for sure, but a lot is probably just water, glycogen and waste.

Will see where we settle in the next week or so and can then really know what the damage was.

LOL thats good work man. I came back about 8lbs heavier from the Bahamas, but after bloat/water settled down I seem to be about +3 or 4 but maintaining nicely about 192-193lbs.

Basically went on what became a food tour of the UK because we had to buy something any time one of us needed a bathroom while driving or out sightseeing.

Was walking 20-25k steps a day, and did some additional cardio some days when I had some energy to burn and the hotel had decent facilities, but not enough to offset the incredible amount of rich ass food we kept putting down lol.

And my partner is pretty small, so most of the eating of said food for those bathroom breaks went to me. Felt like an actual blimp by the end.

Making someone buy food to use your shitter, so they snack afterwards & then need to come back AGAIN to buy more to re-use said shitter, is big brain strategy 🧠

When I was in Santa Barbara/Monica, and LA for business a long time ago my buddy asked if we could drive into beverly hills so he could take a dump. so I let him jump out the car on Rodeo Dr while I circled the block for ten minutes lol. fanciest shits he ever had.

Legs from this morning. Bodyweight at 192.0 so a slight decrease from yesterday. Will see how steady that stays this week lol.

Atlantis Leg Extension: 290 x 8, 290 x 7
Atlantis Seated Ham Curl: 145 x 8, 145 x 8
Atlantis Adduction: 260 x 8, 245 x 7
Cybex Calf Press: 290 x 8, 270 x 8
Kneeling Glute Isolator: 180 x 5, 160 x 6
Pendulum Squat: 135 x 4, 90 x 8
Weighted 45 Degree Hypers: 135 x 8, 135 x 7

About 90 minutes all in. Still shaking off the fatigue and jetlag, but moved some decent weight again.

Especially with how ridiculously low their DUI limit is. Basically one beer puts you over and we were on a road trip, so wasn't like I could pop in and have a light beer or something for 100kcal and then keep it moving when we were done with the beer and the bathroom.

Had to be food lol.

Haven't really been drinking this year anyway though, so probably wouldn't have mattered even if I could drink.

yeah I'm with you, I'm probably not going to risk even light drinking if I'm driving a car in a foreign country on the wrong side of the road. Although it does crack me up, when we go Isla Mujeres its a golf cart island so everyone just rents a cart for the day, no cars. I constantly see people wrecking their carts, sometimes BAD accidents and people get all up in arms DONT DRINK AND DRIVE PEOPLE, THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU DRIVE INTOXICATED!!

and I'm like some of yall have never been on a golf course and it shows. they won't even let you check out the cart unless you chug a shot and a beer in the pro shop.

I probably would for the thrill of it.

Nothing crazy today, just 35 minutes on the elliptical this morning with the usual yohimbe and caffeine. Might do another 30 tonight, as that's seemed to help me get to sleep easier, but will depend on what my step count looks like today.

Slept like fucking **** last night but had a decent session anyway.

Lat Pulldown: 180 x 9, 170 x 8
Prime Pec Deck: 230 x 8, 230 x 6

Yesterday's leg workout. Bodyweight was 188.0 yesterday morning. 187.6 this morning. Slowly but surely getting back in shape.

Prime Leg Extension (w/ Husla ROM Extender): 295 x 6, 270 x 6
Prime Lying Ham Curl (w/ Husla): 125 x 7, 110 x 8
Life Fitness Adduction: 145 x 6, 140 x 6
Arsenal Donkey Calf Raise: 810 x 6, 760 x 6
Hack Squat (w/ Torq Ramp): 320 x 7, 320 x 6
Smith SLDL: 315 x 4, 275 x 5

Couple was baby guarding the hip thrust machine and my back was feeling a little tender from sleeping weird, so skipped those on this session.

Did 30 minutes of stationary biking in a PM session as well; kept HR in the 135 range. Doing another 30-45 minutes of fasted cardio this morning.

Coach wants to start pulling me out of the diet and into a building phase in the next week or so. Will be doing regular cardio PM sessions on training days during that phase.

Couples who share the hip thrust machine are always so sad to me; mainly because the male typically does the same weights & both people are DYEL positive.

Guy with less ass than PeeWee Herman will add a pair of 10s to a machine that his woman just needed to use multiple plates on, phone in a set of 10 lazy reps, then go back to scrolling on his phone while his gf tries & fails to be interesting to him with her TikTok booty workout.

Do you remember early 2000's when Age of Mythology was a PC game? Like 2002 I think. I had some customers up at Microsoft around that time that would go on 5 year plans. Like they literally would move into their office basically. shower at work, eat in the cafeteria, not have a life for 5 years to get a massive new product (or 2) built and out the door, then retire, lol. I was out duck hunting with a guy and in a roundabout way found out thats what he did when he let me know that the huge swath of land we were working was his 😂 😂

Pull day from this morning (or yesterday morning, depending on your view of when a day starts and ends).

Atlantis Lat Pulldown: 230 x 7, 200 x 8
MegaMass Kelso Shrug: 360 x 6, 320 x 8
Prime Lat Pulldown: 210 x 6, 185 x 7

Atlantis Preacher Curl: 65 x 5, 55 x 6
Hammer Preacher Curl: 50 x 6, 40 x 7
RG Cable Curl: 50 x 7, 45 x 7

Haven't made it to the gym yet today. Was up way too late working and didn't have it in me for the 5:45a alarm. Did fasted cardio before logging on this morning in my apartment gym; going to try to squeeze the leg day in this afternoon between work calls. FML.

Seeing all of this extra free time lately... ;) Any are you getting any traction on going in-house with one of the clients so you can have a little life/work balance?
