How is the strength, endurance, and recovery?

Been taking since Monday (LOL I'm listening to Come Monday by Jimmy Buffet right now) and really haven't noticed anything yet. But, I cutting cals a bit...around 2000-2100.

The RPM effects were either starting to diminish on me or I am so used to them, I may only notice when I come off.

I do look leaner...lost about 4 lbs since Monday. :think:

So what possessed you to go BACK to bed :)

I make it a rule not to touch my damn bed after the feet hit the floor (hence the bed never gets made, that's what maids are for).

But I digress, going back to bed within 5-10 min of getting out is a sure fire way to never get up.

My feet never hit the floor bro! LOL...bottle of RPM and the Red and Whites are on my night stand w/ a glass of water! :head:

So you are taking in 2100kcal daily? You know, I think that is double of Easy's intake? He is on the manorexic diet :lol:

Well, I can say it isn't as strong as it was for me. I started popping 8 caps pre-wo. Now, I cut that in half and stack it with some Chaos.

Rules are made to be broken.

Manorexic!!! :toofunny:

Yeah, I was thinking about 3 RPM + 2 or 3 R/W's + 2 or 3 Dialene4

:head:

I'm such a man I don't even need caloric intake to do strength workouts + cardio :D

Are you really under 2000 cal a day???

When I go that low my brain shuts off and I stand in a corner....

I've been between 800-1400 a day for about 6 months now

2-2.5lbs lost a week, no muscle loss, all fat. Strength slowly climbing the whole time.

Seriously, any mental effects like trouble processing? Super low calorie or no carb does this to me.

A female who is 4' 150lbs & 25yo has a BMR of 1410.1

She sleeps and burns more calories than what you intake on your manorexic plan...

I would question how he is accurately measuring this, or question how much muscle he had to begin with.

I'm at 197 now. Well, as far as measurement goes, i'm using body calipers, and the measurements pretty consistently show between (after the math) 160-161 lbs of LBM. Also, my strength has been consistently (slowly) climbing which I suppose is theoretically possible during muscle loss.

Thanks for your feedback on the fish oil thread. I take about 6 grams a day, I'm going to look for liquid fish oil and try to go to 30g. I'll do ten grams three times day...caps with lunch.

I would think that strength increases would indicate you are keeping all the muscle you need to finish the program your on. So,as long as your lifts are challenging enough, you should be all good. It is hard to imagine not losing muscle with that caloric restriction though.

Basal metabolic rate (BMR)

Basal metabolic rate (BMR) is the amount of energy expended while at rest in a neutrally temperate environment, in the post-absorptive state (meaning that the digestive system is inactive, which requires about twelve hours of fasting in humans). The release of energy in this state is sufficient only for the functioning of the vital organs, such as the heart, lungs, brain and the rest of the nervous system, liver, kidneys, sex organs, muscles and skin. BMR decreases with age and with the loss of lean body mass.

Bench hits 150#, bb bicep curl is 67.5lbs, tricep pushdowns 80lb, wide grip lats 125#. So ok weights, not huge, but higher than 2 months ago. Standing calf heel raises I do 345# :D

BMR Formula & example

Your basal metabolic rate (BMR) simply means the amount of energy used by your body during a 24-hour period if no activity is performed. In other words, if you're inactive for 24-hours straight, you'd still "burn" the amount of calories equivalent to your BMR.

Your BMR is a function of your size, sex, and age. It's also influenced by your metabolic status (hypo or hyperthyroid state for example). We can calculate BMR with the following formulas (by Harris-Benedict):

For Men

BMR = 66 + (13.7 x weight in kg) + (5 x height in cm) - (6.8 x age)

So for a 30 year old bodybuilder of 220lbs (100kg) at 5'11" (178cm) it comes up to:

BMR = 66 + (13.7 x 100kg) + (5 x 178cm) – (6.8 x 30)

BMR = 2122 calories per day

For Women

BMR = 655 + (9.6 x weight in kg) + (1.7 x height in cm) - (4.7 x age)

So for a 28 year old figure girl of 132lbs (60kg) at 5'6" (165cm) it comes up to:

BMR = 655 + (9.6 x 60kg) + (1.7 x 165cm) – (4.7 x 28)

BMR = 1380 calories per day

I would say as long as your body weight keeps going down and your lifting weight keeps going up you must be doing something right!

Its been that way as far back as I can remember, thats probably why've I've been a lardass for more of my life than not

If it is low. It means so is your metabolism.

I always sleep in a cold room, meaning air on 72 now and windows open when cold out. This was easy when I lived in Philly, as it was cold enough from September until June most years. I hate the heater, it is my enemy...

Seriously, no matter how cold it got, I never ran a heater at night, I read that being cold at night increases your metabolism immensely, and the cold makes me sleep better...

I'll have to start measuring it regularly to see, and no manu20, you can't come over to help with the rectal thermometer. I keep the house at 75, with a ceiling fan in the room

I ain't smackin Easy, but that is just insanely unheathy. Then homey gets on teh cardio and goes to town.

Easy will reach his goal in no time

hahahaha... dude I'm losing amount .5-1 lbs a week and sucking down nearly 3k calories a day. Your metabolism must be some kind of jacked up... If i get below 2k I start thinking about eating anything near me, including the carpet.

until you get pneumonia... graduate student friend of mine back in school slept with the window cracked open all the time to try and keep his room cool for exactly this reason. He was a fat assed malasian. Anyways, a couple of weeks of this and he ended up with pneumonia...
