I tried a bag of these the other day, UTZ brand. They were amazing. There a kettle style and the ingredients are Whole fresh potatoes, sliced and cooked in 100% pure Peanut Oil, with salt added. No oil preservatives added. Entire line free of MSG. Contains no hydrogenated fats. My question is can i substitute this instead of cooking and eating a reg. sweet potato. They appear relatively healhty and they taste great.

There has got to be something bad in them...

yep, im sure they are very calorie dense. 1 serving has still gotta include a good portion of cals coming from fats. cooking a regular sweet potato wont contribute additional fats, but since these are cooked in peanut oil... enough said. yes, its healthier fat but still, i doubt a serving of these chips with a lean protein source will leave you satiated.

I love sweet potatoes too and love to make sweet potato fries!

yes you are right. Im having trouble finding the info on the net but im still trying. Just to give you an idea a small 99 cent bag has 300 calories and about 15 grams of fat but only .5 of them are sat so its healthy fat depending on your diet.
