I agree with most except I'll take Junior Silva by KO, and Carano by TKO, hell I'm gonna take Krazy Horse by KO too. Guy Mezger is commentating, and I heard the production blows. You can watch the Prelims for free, there is a link at Sherdog, but its not working for me:frustratePredictions for tonight:

*from MMA WeeklyFRANK SHAMROCK VS. RENZO GRACIE
R1: Shamrock looks solid on his feet throwing leg kicks early but after clinching with Renzo against the cage, he's taken down. Gracie maintained side control and also secured a second takedown later in the round. MMAWeekly scores the 1st round 10-9 Renzo Gracie
R2: Gracie again starts the round with another takedown. While on the ground, Gracie was working on side control when Shamrock kneed him twice to the side of the head, causing Herb Dean to stop the action due to the illegal knee strike to the head on the ground. Gracie rolled over in obvious pain and unfortunately was unable to continue.
Renzo Gracie wins by disqualification due to illegal knee strikes to the head while on the ground from Frank Shamrock 2:00 Round 2.
Of course he didn't want to stand with Frank, but most thought he would have to, but he did a great job with the takedowns. I really remember Frank having a much better takedown defense. I could care less about Frank Shamrock, we waited 8 years for him to have a real comeback fight and then he does some BS, and won't man up to it:sad:To me it looked like Renzo didn't wanna stand against Frank.. The shots to the head were kinda dirty, he should've kept to the kidneys like he did first round..
Rematch!![]()
Too bad the bell rang when it did in that last round. That last take down looked brutal!Pretty entertaining card. Carano is impressive.
What, you didn't like the back flips off the top of the cage?Krazy Horse is dumber than ever.
I noticed that right away...Frank was getting beat and couldn't do anything about it, so he blatantly broke the rules in an attempt to level the playing field. I somehow missed The Crow's fight, but the other fights that I saw weren't bad. I'll definitely be looking for their next card.Frank knows the friggin rules and the way he was setting up those knees with his hand behind Renzo's head and then releasing the hand and kneeing simultaneously was very pre-meditated.
I really remember Frank having a much better takedown defense.
Yeah, the production was pretty good. Goldberg is not bad at all, and I'm really starting to like Mauro a lot. Bennett's been doing those backflips for years in KOTC and other promotions, but I remember the first time I saw him do it I was very impressed. The lack of set up is amazing. As soon as his second foot makes it to the top of the cage he jumps with no preperation. It wasn't the best show ever, but it really exceeded my expectations.I think those were better fights and a better production than the one Bodog put on.
Frank Shamrock is a slimy SOB, smirking then rationalizing his foul. Renzo was doing well, using the Gracie ground strategy, and Sham was too, until he choose to make up his own rules.
**** him, hope Baroni beats him to a pulp. That's hard to say, I'm no fan of the "Best Eva".
I like Mauro and that Goldberg is, I'm biased since I know him, is less irritating IMO than the UFC one. Bill G. knows MMA quite well, he's required to promote the product and dumb it down some to the general knowledge level of the audience.
Those two women can fight, a very nice showing by both.
I haven't seen the Villasenor fight yet, it does not suprise me to hear that he dominated Louisea, I've always been impressed with his intensity and skills.
I liked that Bennett backflip, that was nicely done. He may be crazy as an S**thouse Rat, but at least he does'nt cheat.
All in all, props to Showtime, I think it was a fine first production.
Yeah, I'll have to watch those fights again. I remember Tito having trouble taking Frank down, but it was later in the fight when Tito was gassing. I guess its all part of his not wasting any energy theme. He'd rather get taken down, than burn energy fighting it.It's hard to say. Frank was taken down easily by Tito, Eugene Jackson, and I think Horn got him down quite a few times. Tito and Horn were probably fighting at 20 lbs heavier than Frank, though.
Scroll down to the Gracie/Shamrock coverage and you can see a gif of the knees. They look a lot worse than many people have described, and they appear clearly deliberate. Sham is holding Gracie's head, and right at the moment of impact he moves his arm to land on the head. There is no way he didn't feel Renzo's hair. He would have noticed ape-like shoulders if Renzo had them. I don't doubt Renzo's claims of blurred vision. Bump the back of your head lightly against a wall and you'll see your vision getting messed up.

BTW, on the topic of Tito, I saw him on Inside the UFC. If he really trains like he claims to, he must be overtraining, no?
It's gotta be the ears! Thanks for the gifs. Those knees look pretty brutal from that angle. I took a spinning backfist to the back of the head once and my equilibrium was off for a few days. Not a good place to get hit. I don't know, he just annoys me.
Interesting to hear a different opinion, Size. I'll have to watch it soon.
My take on the Crow is that he never recovered from the beating he took from Franklin.
One last thing, WTF is with this Kit Cope dude popping up everywhere? First, it was MTV True Life, then he's testing positive for EQ, then it's some cheesy show on Spike, and then he's in Carano's post-fight interview video.
Seems to me like you don't read many of other peoples posts, because I stated exactly what you are saying about the Shamrock/Gracie fight. Frank was doing more damage on the ground and that the fight could have gone either way before the stoppage. As far as Noons rolling to his back to keep the fight going, well thats kind of hard to do when you're in la la land.I watched the Elite XC and I was disappointed. I seem to have a different take on the Shamrock vs Gracie fight than most.
First one needs to note that EliteXC has a 15 second clock that one must advance on the ground or the fighter are forced to stand backup after being warned. So I think Shamrock fully intended to use this to his advantage while on the ground.
While standing Shamrock clearly had the advantage, he hit Gracie with good leg kicks and some good punching. Gracie landed nothing. Gracie seemd to take Shamrock down rather easily. Once on the ground, I actually thought Shamrock was doing more damage than Gracie. No one seems to mention this, but for the most part Gracie stayed in cross body while Shamrock kneed him repeatedly in the side and kidneys. Gracie never advanced and Shamrock never looked in any trouble. Shamrock seemed content to stay there kneeing until the clock made them stand up. In regards, to the knees that caused the DQ, I think the first knee hit him in the side of the head/neck. I thought on the second knee he was trying to land the same strike by pushing the head away and opening up the side of neck/head. Outside of a few elbows/forearms by Gracie on top, he did not do much except stay in crossbody. I really felt that Shamrock was doing much more damage on the feet and ground than Gracie.
I also think that part of Shamrock's attitude is him promoting himself. This reminds me of how Tito Ortiz promoted himself. He does not mind taking on the bad guy role as he knows it will pay him. He and Renzo will now fight again and get payed again. On the other hand, Renzo seems like a genuinely nice person.
Noons looked really good early in the fight. He was hitting Bennett with some solid leg kicks and it was obvious that Bennett was not going to be able to take to many more. However, Noons decided to stop with just using leg kicks and decided to trade. Bennett hit Noons with a body shot and Noons dropped his left hand, then Bennett hit him with a very solid right. If Noons would have fallen to guard instead of rolling to his back, the fight would have continued.
Silva looked like a much better and faster fighter than Cabbage. He went for take downs, tried to advance position and threw strikes while on the ground. While standing, he threws kicks, strikes, and a knee. He looked like a much more polished fighter than Cabbage.
Villasenor looked very good in his fight and he absolutely dominated Loiseau. Loiseau did not look like he even wanted to be there, and I honestly wonder if this was his last fight. Loiseau mounted no attack until the last round and still it was not much of an attack. Villasenor looked solid on his feet and moved like a boxer. On the ground he made excellent transitions and did damage. Villasenor should have been the fighter of the night as he displayed a well rounded fight game.
Carano vs Kedzie was entertaining while on the feet. Carano was obviously a superior striker. She looks excellent on here feet. She easily hit Kedzie seemingly at will. On the ground, it seemd as if neither was comfortable and both even looked a little lost. At the end of the fight, Carano still looked cute and Kedzie looked beat up. A good fight to watch and a good intro for women in mma.
Overall, I thought the production was okay. The volume seemed off but that could have been my feed. I thought the intros were terrible as fighters walked out of some silly looking horse head. Mauro did a good job with the play by play. I thought Goldberg was bad and annoying. However, he did seem to understand the fighting and techniques. As usual in MMA in the USA the crowd booed.
Yeah, unfortunately I think this is true. Was it the sports bra or does Carano have a straight up d-cup. I always thought she was good looking for a fighter, well she's good looking for whatever.I think Cope is dating Carano.
Talk about a travesty.

Oh, sorry, I just wasn't sure if you read through the thread or not. And you are probably right, an experienced MMA fighter probably would've fallen to guard.I stated "I seem to have a different take on the Shamrock vs Gracie fight than most".
In regards to Noons, it is definitely a difficult task to roll to guard after getting hit hard. I could not help but think when it happened that he was responding more like a boxer(which he is) rather than MMA fighter. I wondered if a more experienced practioner of MMA would have fallen onto his back to pull guard in hopes to regain his composure.
It really is not this thread that is making it sound so bad(this forum is rather open and honest about mma). However, other places on the net that I have read are describing the fight as if Shamrock was getting destroyed and I simply do not see how people can see it like that. My only guess is that Shamrock is an ass and Renzo is a nice guy so people are much more willing to give Renzo the edge.Oh, sorry, I just wasn't sure if you read through the thread or not.

Here's an interesting (and serious) question- is it possible to submit via boobs? 'Cause if it is, "big" girls have something else to worry about.
Actually, looking back over it, let me clarify what I mean. What I mean is, could you attack and submit that point, and are there rules in place for that?
