Shoot running into your friends there was a social thing too. You could easily blow an hour just reading boxes you have read 20 times already trying to find the perfect substitute for the movie you were actually trying to get. LOL If you got the one you wanted it was like scoring a touchdown!

my co-worker just informed me that he has my N64 from my childhood. that would be a 30 year old machine, and all the old games, including Perfect Dark and Goldeneye.... apparently my little brother gave it to him haha. he told me I can have it back
what kind of lil brother do you have giving up these gems lol
i still have my old nintendo, n64, original sega
dont think i could ever give em away .. ill never play it then can collect dust and bury it with me lol

thats a great collection. there is a "video game museum" at the Tacoma Mall. its basically a store for video games, posters, etc but behind glass they have the OG machines. a couple years ago for Christmas my wife got me one of those 100000 games in one unit and the only one I crack open is Kidd Alec in Wonderland for the nostalgia of the music lol. Sega should be a priority. I'd get a dreamcast too maybe but only for Crazy Taxi haha.
Super Nintendo might be important for the old Donkey Kong lol. Love that game.

In High School I had an Odyssey 2 (by Magnavox).
It was fun, but we used it up (until the controllers broke), and packed it up.
I never got a system after that, but years later, when my nephew and niece visited for the summer, they brought their system, and I enjoyed Mike Tyson's Punch Out.

I always enjoyed Duck Hunt (I became a Sharpshooter, later in life). ..... And I actually remember the Duck Hunt games, before the electronic games.... One that had a physical pistol, and light detecting target, and one that had a physical pistol that you aimed at the TV (don't remember how that one worked, back then) ... that was probably Pong era.

And if I may .... I just got home from landing a job that I Really wanted, because I'll be working with a Long time friend, and his wife. And it comes with a sign on Bonus. ... And just for kicks, I stopped by a bank, and opened a checking account (my 3rd) with them, that comes with a $500 Bonus. You know what Ice Cube would say ....

I cant tell you how many nights we stayed up all night playing goldeneye and perfect dark. fav trick was the knife or sedative after I shot you so you respawn all messed up lol

I just bought a Retroid Pocket 5 (6 is the newest one) Put alot of time into it loaded it up with thousands of games with NES, Genesis, SNES, Neo Geo, TG16, PS1, N64 and even runs PS2 and Gamecube games really well. Have other consoles on it too.
For Travel I use something lighter and smaller, have a Sony Vita which I modded years ago I have thousands of retro games on it too as listed above but cant play anything PS2 era (N64 sucks too on it for some reason) but I do have it loaded up with PSP games as well.

I had the nes classic mini edition with lots of built in games and bought an aftermarket wireless controller for it. I have the sega genesis mini console also. Played streets of rage 2 and Road Rash last night. Also beat contra without the code a few years back on my emulator

I'm curious too. I can't personally recommend one cause I have a cheapo chinese version of this thing that my wife got me for fun. Its literally just a USB thumb drive looking deal that plugs into your HDMI port. it does have gazillion games on it, but not all of them work because of copyright issues lol.

Without breaking bank for a super high end portable gaming platform ($800-$1000 or more) I would go for the Retroid Pocket 6 maxed out with 12GB RAM to future proof it a little if you get into PS2 games .I have the 5 got it for cheap but wish I just got the newest one with all the work I put into it, I will be happy for 5 for now.
Now here is the catch with the 12 the analogue stick on the left is on top and the digital pad on the bottom. If your more into retro gaming having the digital pad on top and analogue stick on the bottom as seen in the photo below. My Retroid 5 has the digital pad on top but playing driving games with the analogue stick on the bottom kinda sucks for me anyways, I always liked the Xbox setup more than the PS2 but for retro gaming I absolutely love the digital pad higher.
Also you can get a dock and pair it up with a controller.
I would recommend getting a hand grip too
An alternative is the Retroid Pocket Flip 2 if you prefer this form factor as well which I kinda like having the screen up higher and hands a little closer together, I havent tried it but both digital pad and analogue stick are set up a little higher when you grip it.

It does take ALOT of work to set it all up though, skills finding the roms, having the right apps to download etc.......there are premade machines out there but I dunno about them.
Whats really cool is that when you play all these games you can save your point pretty much with all the systems and you can get back to your very spot almost instantly once you load the game back up even with Ps2 and Gamecube.
