Weights up, scales down…

Man, I bet that’s an awesome view.
Google maps apparently drove by on a cloudy day so I drew the mountain for you lol but thats their house to the left and barn to the right.

generally though this is the view from my home town. Where we live now we are about 45-60minutes west on the water as you know, and my folks are inland roughly 20-30 miles.

Yeah my wife and I want to go to Alaska for a trip one Summer. My sister and her husband went on an Alaska cruise about 8 years ago and saw Grizzlies, Polar Bears, Killer Whales and some of the most amazing scenery you could ever see. She said the pictures didn’t do the scenery and the huge icebergs justice.😎👍

My cousins are actually trekking through Alaska right now and posting tons of photos. It looks amazing.

An Alaska cruise was my father's dream. He never got to fulfill it, but I plan to take my family one day in his honor.

Nope unfortunately, we leased out the pasture this year as we figured it would take most of the summer to get situated. This fall when they move them off we will start building are herd. Probably 3-4 at first and then ultimately plan to grow to 15-20 head. We can sustainably support that amount and then sell the calves in the fall.

Then I guess longer term goals will be to try and acquire more grass land and have more like 50 head. But that’s a long ways off. We are in the first stages 😂

Summertime is awesome; sunshine for most of the hours of the day. We went one year because they were holding Strongest Woman In the World at the State Fair that year. That trip was awesome & would love to go back as long as it wasn’t winter.

There are coffee and ice cream stands everywhere within the cities it seems like! And you are never not in view of mountains, forests, meadows & streams or lakes that are just gorgeous in the sunshine. Hiking, fishing, and hunting can be done all over.

So today was a special day, my boy turned 2. It was a good day and a little sad at the same time. He got a few Tonka trucks and some ninja turtle sunglasses 😎

Happy Birthday to Lil Man!

my man kids are such a blessing and it just gets better all the sudden you're talking to an adult mini me who's bigger than you.
Oh man, having adult kids who love and respect you but more importantly like you enough that they want to be around when they no longer have to is awesome. As much as I enjoyed their childhood, I think I enjoy spending time with them as adults more. Then again I am lucky that 2 of my kids live with me, and I get to see and hang out with them regularly. Something I never thought I would say when I was younger. We were programmed the kids moved out at 18... I was completely onboard until the boys started approaching the end of High School. By that time my sense of family value and just having good kind hearted children started changing my outlook. Now I am like stay as long as you want and we can all help each other live a better more enjoyable life.
Happy birthday to your boy! Man, time flies. Kind of crazy that us AM bros get to watch each other's families grow up on here.
It is pretty wild, I joined here in 2008, so anyone who was in my logs back then have been around for me talking about every major event in my daughter's life since she was 4. Several people who were just pups back then now have children in various stages of life that we have all been a little part of. It is wild how tight our little group is.

I honestly believe if any one of us was in need we could ask anyone here for help and likely get it. I have been reached out to with people offering things when I was in need, and have reached out offering things and support to many as well. We just have such a great group and if you get adopted into it you probably have some friends for life.

agreed across the board. even though I'm typically opposed to failure to launch syndrome I always tell my wife that one of the step daughters could always reset and move back into her old room (and pitch in around the house haha) cause it would be nice to have her around, but also we want her boyfriend out of the picture (LOL!) so I'm like, just tell her she doesn't have to make that big rent payment in the city, she can just have her old room back for a while lol.

a few years ago we did that family trip (blended of course) down to Puerto Vallarta. we found an all inclusive that was more affordable than most, but turned out to be really nice! I was able to use miles to fly us all down and I was really pleasantly surprised that not only was it a good trip, but maybe one of my favorites ever. one of my step daughters couldn't get out of work (federal parks) but we had her twin sister, my step son, and my boy was I think 15 or 16 at the time. it was the first time to Mexico for 2 of them, the first time out of the country for my boy (he got a passport stamp!) and we all just chilled, walked all over the place together and had fun meals and trinket shopping and a little snorkel action.
