Can’t step over the bar on deadlifts
even though I like this from a gym ettiquite perspective (I was taught, stay off other peoples platforms, respect the bar, dont' sit on the bar, dont' drop the bar, etc), what is the point from a competition perspective? Like what happened that would lead them to say, "oh yeah, we dont' want people doing that again" ?
 
I think stepping over the bar is just some European superstition turned into meaningless etiquette.

Newsflash: the bar doesn’t care about you or anything you do.

Yeah the changes they have made recently are stupid. Can’t step over the bar on deadlifts, can’t have a visible necklace on…it keeps going and going.
I don’t really pay attention to them. They have always been fruitcakes with rules, their drug-testing has always been a joke, they run their meets like a golf tournament held in a library, and just generally not what powerlifting is to me.

300 test c / 300 mast e / 300 dien e / 90 deca / 40 trest a

Split over daily shots (except deca) for a 1,030mg total. Mast was lowered by 100 to raise Dien, Trest bumped from 35 to 40 total, and I am sticking with the therapeutic dose of deca for joint support. Took a single 200mg shot the day my pec cramped up the other week to frontload it, and between the brutal cold here & prep it seems prudent given I’m already on Caber for the Dien & Trest anyway. ~100mg/wk is the medical dose for this.

Took a 600mg shot of glutathione today, as last week’s definitely helped hold off the winter crud going around our house. Plan is to do this weekly through the meet. Taking L-Carn before most training and trying to get it on 1-2 off-days as well for 4-5/wk.

I just got my l-carn/choline blend from Mike today. Also ordered glutathione to start back on it for a while. I haven’t used ephedrine in years. I miss the OG Hydroxycut and Ripped Fuel. That stuff was legit.

Bronkaid Max is $17 for a pack of 60x25mg at CVS, Walgreens, etc. right over the counter in the US except in a few states. Hits strong and you know it’s legit, better than any supplement brand of questionable quality.

It raises my BP pretty obviously, but I also find half a tab to be gentler while getting a lot of the benefit.

I wouldn’t go that far, but it absolutely helps both absolute performance and getting more done overall. My staples are caffeine, sodium, choline & the Ubiquinol (which is just daily health supplement I move to preWO on lifting days).

Didn’t feel like I needed any BP meds as I’m not super retentive right now on this stack, but it’s always good to be sure. Probably also helps that I’m about 12lbs lighter and using some Caber too.

Yeah in NC we have to sign for it at the pharmacy. It’s no big deal. I’ll grab some. Just be nice to have that extra energy on Saturday when I do my programed lifts at my trainer’s place.

Yes, just to a lesser degree. Like I said, maybe half as strong per mg, or less, but it definitely works.

The “-sartan” family of ARB meds are especially effective at reducing AAS-induced BP increases because they block the angiotensin receptors that AAS tend to overstimulate. So if you block them, you will hold much less water from your gear.

Which may be perfect, because you need to not have high blood pressure longterm to keep healthy kidneys, but you need to also look at your entire stack and how that would affect you. What I found when I needed to use Telmisartan is that I needed radically more sodium intake to maintain fullness and proper hydration for safe training. It can slightly raise potassium levels as well; that’s the one thing you need to monitor with it on bloodwork.

This is how you see scenarios where guys are using 80mg of Telmisartan to manage their BP from their gear stack, but then having to salt their water heavily and consume 10g actual sodium daily. It’s a net win for BP big time, but it does require a lot of intervention IME.

Getting really comfortable with the self-liftoff feet-first setup I switched to Saturday; 325 practically floated out of the rack. Bad elbow is hurting on lockout of every rep now. Never really used to do that, but been an issue last couple weeks and I suspect it’s just going to be what it is going into this meet since it’s just bone on bone. I even put Curcuprime on it preWO, which is not a normal thing for me. Definitely limiting my work; I had to just stop the CG set with 287 due to pain every lockout.

Still, all in all a good bench day where I got some good sets in & solid practice. Only feels like I could bench 350 right now, but there’s a few weeks left to train so hopefully that bumps up.

Interesting. After my current blood work comes in, I’ll look to see where my sodium and potassium levels are and might need to increase sodium.

That’s awesome brother….with the numbers you’ve been putting up, I thought you were in that 620 to 630 range, well you crushed that, 635 lbs is definitely “Beastmode”. Man you’re going to kill it at your meet.🏆
 
Thank you everyone. Something my wife told me was, ‘A lot of people would have quit.’ And they probably would have been right to, if the result was only measured in time laboring vs lbs added. But here I stand 5 years later, without crippling back pain and my back stronger than ever, instead of inevitably becoming weaker otherwise. These things mean a lot to me, so it has been worth it.

635 is also special because that’s equal to 6 plates and a 25 per side on the bar in North America. And I’ve squatted the equivalent of 6 & a half on a squat bar (645), and benched 4 plates too. To me, these are milestones I’m proud of: if I die tomorrow, I’m happy knowing I made it to a 4 plate bench & 6.5 plates on the big lifts!

This was the bench day I needed to have. I did take an Anadrol50 prior, as I do for my six 100% and 90% sessions in all my peaking blocks, but everything from my setup to execution all felt easy & natural. I had to hold back reps & weight this session (instead of grinding), which leaves me excited for when I max out bench in 10 days.

Bodyweight exploded up after this last deca shot and raising the daily Trest dose 25% (only 50mg total/wk, but bumped from 40). It’s classic high estrogen based on that and other little indicators, so taking 12.5mg Exemestane to wrangle it some.
 
It’s a good thing it’s winter because I am starting to roast from this blast with Dien & Trest levels creeping up. Spending a lot of time around the house topless & barefoot despite the thermostat only at 65 🥵

No you misunderstand: we have it heated up to that for the women because that’s the most I will justify spending considering how hot it already is for me. Heated blankets would be insane for me at any temp. I’m already sleeping with just a bedsheet and nothing but briefs to avoid sweating the sheets! I go through 2-3 tshirts a day from sweating out the pits at 65*, so I’ve backed off wearing any when I can.

Took 12.5mg Exemestane yesterday after training & dropped 3-4lbs overnight, then dropped another lb to 250.4 by 10am after coffee. So I know what I’m working with now as far as estrogen bloat & no longer concerned about making weight at 242 when it’s time for the watercut. Hoping to get most of that water back by Friday morning for squat with some Mk677 tonight and food tomorrow, but estrogen was getting out of hand.

Just repeated rowing weights from last week, and will taper back on accessory intensity from here on probably. Spent time tonight getting my pecs and shoulders loosened up after benching yesterday to get them ready for Friday. I want to squat a big one!

Six hundred ‘n fifty solid-ass pounds this morning, for a 5lb lifetime best. I really nailed my groove on this one; this was a damn good squat. Also nearly moved as fast as 633 prior, so there’s definitely more in the tank for the meet in 3 weeks!
