Great session. They are always the ones where you gotta start with discipline and end up shocked lol. I took a knee at home Depot this afternoon to get something off the bottom shelf and the back of my knee (between hamstring and calf) hurt like an SOB, I really didn't think I'd find this rom tonight.

Not ready to max out or anything but next week will definitely be heavy enough to belt up.

Crazy how those uninspired and almost not wanting to go sessions can really turn into solid gold!
I’ve always felt the same way.

Every workout where I feel amazing, sleep great and feel great going into them end up being just decent workouts. But every workout where I just slept average, feel decent end up being the best workouts ever.

It’s a weird effect, probably more psychological rather than physical.

For real, first time I ever overhead pressed strict over bodyweight was one of those days where I felt like crap but weights were moving so I just kept adding 5lbs. But that stuck with me for years so sometimes when I really feel like skipping I remember something great might happen if I go.

I asked ChatGPT and this actually makes more sense than I thought it did

Glad the knee is getting better….nice work on squats. That’s why we can’t always go by whether we feel inspired or not to go to the gym. Just gotta go in banging and clanging and inspiration will come.💪👍

Yesterday was a day of gardening, hauling dirt basically to get the new beds built up and full. Today gotta get a load of horse manure. Then hopefully next week start the foundation for the greenhouse. Hoping to have that built in time for seeding like Feb/March ish.

Still basically raw dogging these workouts and I think I'm noticing a difference finally. Starting to miss some of the simple sleepers like anabolic XT, so might have to bring it back in soon.

It's sorta nice to do a "supplement" cleanse, I feel like it validates what I get from various products.

Best is when you start taking creatine and see the weights creep up the next month that you start it up again. Makes it all feel worth it!

Looks like your incline bench is steadily going up. It really is good when you stop a supplement and you start to notice, and then when you add it back you start to realize all the benefits. 👍

funny thing is I haven't really had to think about Creatine too much in a long time cause its always in something else I'm taking so that's a really good point-

Getting there! thought about taking 2 wheels+ for a ride yesterday and decided to wait and hit it fresh. I have no idea what an incline PR is for me since it's not a lift I took seriously until about a year ago, so I'm going to count anything 230+ as a PR.

Yeah at some point after years of consistency I start to wonder if products are doing anything but I definitely think there is an extra fire in my belly during a lot of workouts with even some of the simplest things I get from Steve. I can just tell there is a difference between really having to buckle down and grind out the disipline aspect vs those workouts you never want to end.

Broke fast this morning at 195.4lbs which is 1lb lower than last Tuesday morning.

Dropped into an airsquat easily without overthinking it in the locker room. Figured this would be a good session.

I think knee is good enough to treat squats in a more training type protocol now. I'll never know what I did to it for sure but just a tad after one month post injury and id say it feels like 95% there.

I started micro dosing 1-2 pumps of XPG epiandro this week to see how I respond to it. It's been about a year since my last run and last time I tried to bring epiandro in I felt like it was stirring anxiety / panic attacks so I thought I'd give a small amount a try and see if I can ramp it up. Ifi notice anxiety or substantial hair shedding again I'll pull the plug.

Weight belt between hole 2 and 3, I don't consider the cut to be making progress until I get past hole 3.

Have a weird amount of time tomorrow night before wrestling so I'll probably double up and knock out leg press and front squats tomorrow.

Glad to see you squatting heavy without issue! Just pay attention to how it responds tomorrow and train accordingly; if it feels a bit overworked don’t rush it. And if you still feel ready, listen to your body & trust yourself.

There is something behind the knee, that area between the hamstring and calf that still seems a little pissed off but I didn't realize it till I tripped over my bbq tonight lol

Otherwise, it's feeling pretty dang good so far. I think I could have ran today in more of a "training" fashion than test but this was still a decent day.

I figured one day I'd just wake up and realize I was getting in and out of the car and walking up the stairs without thinking about it eventually. It seems like I'm there, so just gotta keep the good momentum here.

This is always one of the things that gives me pause, as I believe I have similar experience with epiandro.

Glad to hear the knee is doing so much better.

Running 2 pumps now with no issues. I do feel more balanced overall this year, placebo or not I have zero doubt that my daily RLT is making a positive contribution to life as well!

Glad to hear the knee is doing so much better.

I barely even think about it now, its great to be functional! Only have slight tenderness at full/extreme rom.

so @GreenMachineX @Segansational you can count those sets and time however ya want. its 23 sets but of course its more like 9-12 working sets. rests were the amount of time it took to change plates, or swap bench with my buddy I was lifting with. longest rest period was weighted dips and the top sets on incline.

Going to hit a second round tonight for a little more chest and follow-up on last night's leg stuff.

Oh I wanted to go for 270 for triples today but again no 2 1/2 lb plates so I took 275 for a ride. Next time will either drop weight and take volume or go for a triple at 275.

@Segansational if you need 5 minutes between thrusters I consider that acceptable. Holyshit those never get easier.

Have a WFH/PTO day today cause I have an electrician coming out for some projects so rushed in an early morning session for a quick pump.

Been a long time since I lifted before 6am. Turns out I still hate it. In and out in a pukey 40 minutes.

Tossed preWO in Gatorade (sugar free) for this one and basically lifted fasted. Headed home for protein now.

I briefly contemplated what a pro would do to plate this in an appealing way then gave up cause that's not my jam. A pile of food is my jam though. Lol.

There's my wife's homemade bread under some cheese which is under a pile of eggs and veggies which is topped with avocado lol.

I really like trying to get more healthy fats in when on a cut where I can. Avocados have been a favorite hack of mine the past year if I can find decent ones that don't cost an arm and a leg.

DB thrusters are basically standing BB push press? But could see how that's essentially full body taxing!

Similar, but thrusters you squat all the way down, push press is like a quarter squat.

yeah it's a front squat into OHP
Fran was 21 - 15 - 9 of
95lb thrusters
pull-ups

I think my best time on that was like 2:30 and usually the target was for all athletes to break 10 minutes.
the thrusters is a super taxing movement, adding pull-ups leaves you with a quick wod that destroys your legs, push, and pull all in a few minutes. you taste blood for the next day or so. lol

Screwed up my math on squat progression, 275 was supposed to be 285, lol. Thought about going for a triple on 315, it felt light on my back but about at parallel on rep 1 my hammies went super weak so I knew it was better to just take the one today as I get back into it.

After a year+ of fighting my way into squats for hypertrophy purposes I'm starting to actually look forward to them for maybe the first time ever lol.

Nice session looks like the knee is coming along.

Saturdays are made for shovelling. Got a lot of progress done on the garden/greenhouse project. Kept food super light all day cause I want to let it go a bit at 5pm when Seahawks kickoff their playoffs game....

Weight 195. If I can hold close to that till Mondays fast I'll be happy and on track for a 194 weigh in next weekend.

Man the Seahawks blew the 49ers out of the stadium. This might be their year…. I don’t think the Rams or Bears can beat them. Actually as long as Sam Darnold sticks within the game plan and doesn’t make mistakes, their defense is good enough to carry them through. Of course the main reason that Denver, Houston and New England are doing good in the playoffs is defense. Drake Maye and Stafford are the best quarterbacks left, and might give the Rams or New England a chance, as much as I hate the Patriots. But I’m rooting for you guys or the Rams (Matthew Stafford is a Georgia Bulldog, so I can’t help myself).😎👍

Speaking of 13 seconds. Aw the good ole days.

Gotta say I didn’t believe in the Seahawks but I may be wrong about them. Don’t make mistakes and let your D carry you. My prediction was Rams/Bills with a Rams victory. But what do I know!

It's been a good year to be a Seattle sports fan. I already have tickets for Mariners opening day at spring training next month and working on opening day in Seattle if I can finagle it. That one might justify a PTO day for me lol.

Had planned to have all my cheat/refeed shoved into the hawks game last night and we ended binging on a big veggie platter my wife made, some hummus, and finally chicken sliders made from grilled chicken breast rather than crispy. So my gut was full of veggies today and honestly it was a pretty damn clean refeed. I tried.

Incline making steady progress IMO

Now I gotta haul another yard of gravel and get the foundation finished for the greenhouse.

I'm smoked today, good day to fast and hope for some anti-inflammatory response. After the gym yesterday I got the trench dug (rectangle shape) for my wifes new 10 x 12 greenhouse. backfilled it with that 3/4 minus rock. laid treated 4x6 all around it and got those cinched up together in the corners. took about a yard of soil from the middle which was now mounded up, then unloaded another 1/2 yard of 7/8 rock for the floor of the greenhouse. you know we have that steep bank on the back side of our house so as I was over there getting ready to unload a wheelbarrow full of heavy stuff it slipped and started to go, so I fell on to my back to try to hold it in place, I could see one wheel going over the bank floating there and my feet slipping in the wet 32f grass so I sat for a second then finally yelled out to my wife, who's mom ears somehow knew me yelling for her was serious cause I was bout to lose my $200 barrow over the cliff or possibly go with it so she came running and scoop by scoop unloaded the wheelbarrow while my forearms are sitting there burning up holding it in place and I'm lying on my back 😂 😂 bashed up my shin real good, knee is swollen again but not painful, then went back to the job. didn't quite beat nightfall but got a lot done.

The greenhouse we got wasn't by any means top of the line. but it had 2 types of reviews, 1 star and 5 star. the pictures showed the 1 star people had slapped it together somewhere and it got trashed by weather, and the 5 star reviews were people who had taken the time to build a good foundation, bolt it down, and frame out the interior shelving etc to make it more robust so thats why I'm overbuilding it right now. I hope to have it finished next weekend so we're ready to start adding shelves and then she can be in there seeding stuff by March. fingers crossed.

Landscaping, especially when you’re moving wheelbarrow loads of rock, will definitely put it on you. I love to do it, but it can absolutely be a workout. But man you had an adventure trying to keep your wheelbarrow and yourself from falling down the steep bank. Glad your wife came to the rescue…..women definitely have that 6th sense, that spidey sense.😎👍

by the time I got to bed I could no longer find a part of me that didn't feel sore and worked, from my ankles up to my shoulders. my hands were so wrecked my wife made me use special lotion on them lol. I was like the Indiana Jones of gardening.

Sorry man, couldn’t help it.🤷🏻‍♂️

ahahaha you're not far off! its a good 20ft or so and I told my wife if she didn't get there time she'd find me at the bottom either trying to rescue my wheelbarrow, or because I simply went over with it
