gyno flare, seemingly no cause at all, any advice?

Recently had a gyno flare, I'm a 35 year old male, Not taking anything other than creatine for the last 8 years and recently as of September had uni-lateral gyno flare up starting with itchy right nipple and then followed by puffiness/swelling and tenderness and growth in the underlying gland.

I have not done any PED's for a long time, and promptly scheduled blood work which everything came back within normal range. Did a further test for prolactin and it was not elevated even though I suspected it might be prolactin related as I have dealt with that in the past.

My doctor scheduled ultrasound imaging of my breast and that determined it was not a tumor or any growth other than glandular gynecomastia.

I wasn't sure what to do and my doc didn't want to prescribe me ralox because estro was within normal range. So against their advice I began taking ralox at 60mg a day and it's seemed to at least keep it from getting significantly worse but it's driving me crazy that this is happening and I cannot and my doctor cannot determine the cause.

If anyone has dealt with anything similar, please let me know your thoughts anything to check or try.

For what it's worth, I have also cut out all alcohol for over a month and it hasn't really changed anything gyno related. It's still tender and puffy. Also prior I rarely ever touched THC so I know that wasn't the trigger or cause either. It's very strange its uni-lateral.

i have noticed this as well intermittently throughout my adult life on my right nipple even with normal bloodwork, it is something that comes and goes and i just take it in stride, no change in diet or alcohol intake training or supplementation etc. some progressive thinkers here have mentioned decreasing caffeine intake can help alleviate symptoms in some. eating clean with low carbs may help some also. i am not a fan of starting aromatase inhibitors myself

Not too sure, but I have been waiting to show people a new gyno protocol I made with AI and used that really clearly me up even with 10+ year old gyno (I am sure it will comeback eventually) but as of now. I cannot see it or feel it.

3-5 months
Raloxifene 60 mg daily
Calcium D-Glucarate 1.5–2 g (twice a day)
Serrapeptase 20 mg (~40k-60k SPU) (fasted)
Vitamin E 400–800 IU (with fat food)
Vitamin D3 5000 UI (with food)
Calcium 500–1000 mg (with food)
Taurine 2-3g
Fish Oil 2-3g (with food)

Would like to ask AI what everything in that list other than raloxifene contributes toward gyno reduction.

Calcium D Glucarate basically ensures that estrogen leaves the body and isnt reabsorbed.
Serrapeptase can theoretically help break down non living fibrous tissue and scar tissue, softening the lump making it easier to reduce it in size.
Vitamin E/D and calcium more hormonal support, basically makes it not a great enviornment for the gyno with the ralox.
Taurine is good for liver health which means better estrogen filtering
Fish Oil helps with inflamation
I would also add Zinc (30–50 mg daily), but most people have that anyway

I don't know what would have caused it. I'm just going to assume you had it from childhood and got a random flare up. I got it from testosterone but also just have random flare-ups for no reason, but it's been a while. I have masked my gyno pretty well over the years. When I get a flare up, I lower estrogen with exemestane and then I do ralox 100mg for 2 weeks and 50mg for a month after. That's pretty much it. If you keep your BF low and your chest has a decent amount of mass it will also help to basket with a more aesthetically pleasing look I guess you could call it.

Sooner or later I'll probably get it cut out but it has not gotten worse or even flared in the past year or 2. so I don't know maybe I'll keep dealing with it.

If you run cycles moving forward, estrogen management will be super important. Primo or EQ may become your best friend

Thanks, I was currently taking the Ralox with DIM and Milk thistle, but about to run out of both, might switch over to Calcium D Glucarate and Serrapeptase and see if that helps!

Well at least I feel somewhat better knowing that I am not alone in this and it's happened to others. I also am contemplating having it removed if this continues.

Is yours also specifically uni-lateral? So weird that this occurs in some individuals. I'm trying to eat a little cleaner as I have noticed junk food seems to increase inflammation and increases a puffy appearance I'm guessing from increased water retention due to sodium?

it is always my r nipple. i cant always pinpoint the cause for myself, definitely junk food makes me a little bit more puffy than normal

I like to call acne, balding and gyno the big 3. These are the 3 most common side effects of steroids. Some ppl get none of those issues, some ppl get all of the issues. But the large majority of ppl seem to get 1of the 3 main issues. Knowing what I do know, it would have been super easy to avoid but the damage is done. I've read that approximately 50% of steroid users get gyno. Who knows how accurate that is, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's correct. Most competitive bodybuilders get the gland removed

I have the same thing on my L side. I haven't used anything in the last several years that should cause issues, but it still comes back every once in awhile. The 2 things that I have pinpointed are a change in diet where I fairly quickly increase junk food, alcohol, and calories in general (vacation or holidays). The other one seems like a stretch but I swear it's happened with several different companies supplements, but it seems as though sprirulina over time causes it to flare up. I've noticed this with 3 different greens supplements I've tried and 1 other supplement with the common denominator being spirulina.
