What’s up guys. Bit of a different question but my mom is 76. She’s having an issue where after a few hours she just loses complete focus and can’t concentrate on anything. She’s in great health, extremely active with family and grandkids and all of that. She has suffered from long covid which I have gotten her some items to help with that aspect. As far as her mental, concentration, focus, etc. what would yall recommend? She can be sensitive to supplements so I want to avoid something stimulating or a big blend like focus xt so we can add individually.

So far I have purchased the following:

Choline xt
Nordic natural omega 3
Creatine
Magnesium
Sabroxy (if needed)

Was considering the following:

Phosphatidylserine
L-tyrosine
AlCAR
Bacopa
Methyl b vitamins

I’d be interested to hear y’all’s thoughts and opinions.

Thank you!

Creatine is amazing so thats a great start, I would take higher than 5g since most doses when it comes to cognitive enhancement is 20-40g. ALCAR, creatine and magnesium can have a synergistic effect for brain function so adding alcar on top of the magnesium can be great.

P-serine is good too. I would add in some high dose vitamin D too, its great for immune function and has very strong evidence for improving long covid and covid symptoms. Any multivitamin could help aswell.

you can look into these too:
CDP choline
Pharmaceuticals like naltrexone
NAD
NAC

I had long covid on and off the past 4 years and really used to struggle with it but it was exacerbated by my autoimmune condition. Vitamin D is the only supplement that helped me personally. I have researched this extensively and would advise you to look on the vaccinelonghaulers, covidlonghaulers and post covid subreddits for anecdotal evidence that supplements can help.

Good luck! Keep me posted once you try them, im excited to see what will help her.

Cognitive Health & Nootropic Support:
Palmitoylethanolamide is a natural fatty acid that is made in the brain and has anti-inflammatory and neuroprotective effects.

Palmitoylethanolamide has been shown to stimulate healthy brain cells, reduce inflammation in the brain, and to help protect neurons from excitotoxicity, oxidative stress, and cell death induced by inflammatory mediators.

It has also been shown to help support neurobehavioral functions, including memory and learning, by reducing oxidative stress and pro-inflammatory marker expression as well as rebalancing glutamatergic transmission.

Thank you. Yea she will be taking NAD and NAC as well for her long covid protocol as well as the SNS Choline XT. So it seems we are on the right path. She is taking Vitamin D3 but need to figure out the dose she’s taking currently

Yes I had considered this as well. Lots of good options I’m just trying to start small and slowly add so we know what’s doing what and so she isn’t taking 50 pills a day. But this is definitely in consideration

IIRC, there was someone on here, might be in that thread somewhere, who was specifically using PEA for some Rona brain fog. I'll try and find the posts, but we all know how the search function is haha

It’s pretty good. Mostly eggs for breakfast and fruit or homemade bread, meat and veggies and fruit the rest of the day. With the occasional popcorn and coke haha. Zero health issues. She has had bad migraines and vertigo in the past which seems to run in the women in her family but other than that they live to be 90+ and active. This aspect could be related but I think it started after a bad Covid bout. Thank all of yall so much for the help. The best community here

Vertigo is a pretty classic syndrome of Covid. The main symptoms I struggle with still from Covid infection or vaccine injury in 2020 is POTS and wet cough. I have had a wet cough every day for the past 2 years. And have POTS that flares up from time to time, it’s the main reason I can’t deadlift because I get lightheaded and vertigo from pots when I stand up fast or hinge fast.

Sorry just now seeing this, well she sounds extremely healthy. I ask because with a lot of elderly patients, sometimes appetite goes in the gutter and then nutrition is lacking which causes other problems, but sounds like her diet is as good as it can get. It still wouldn’t hurt to check her blood sugar during one of her little spells to rule it out any blood sugar problems, if yall haven’t already.
