Reacting poorly to creatine. Anyone else?

I think we all know about creatine and it's endless amounts of benefits. It really is the holy grail of fitness supplements. Thousands of positive studies.

An aspect that alot of people don't seem to really talk about is.... It's effect on the methylation system. The body uses 40% of the overall methylation system to create creatine. Supplementing creatine then frees up this system and can throw things out of whack. Your Sam-E levels will increase after adding in creatine.

For most people this isn't an issue. For people like me with an mthfr defect and especially a slow comt gene it's a nightmare.

Insomnia
Anxiety
Depression
Fatigue

This even comes from 1g doses. I've also tested every type from monohydrate to HCL. All have the same issues.

If your supplementing creatine and notice that your sleep is poor. Your anxiety is heightened. You feel a background uncomfortable stimulation. I would stop it for a couple weeks and assess how you feel.

I would genuinely love to be able to use creatine. I've tried numerous times and even tried to balance out the overmethylation side effects. Glycine/Niacin are both methylation balancers. I can run it for a couple weeks and then my methylation goes crazy. So annoying!

Anyone else unable to supplement creatine?

Anything else able to have similar effects but not tap into the methylation system? I do have D-ribose and Peakatp.

What's the verdict on Peakatp? The science looks good but be good to hear actual people's results.

Also. I have no bad words for creatine. I don't want this to seem negative. Creatine is a miracle supplement. I've read of people curing chronic fatigue to debilitating depression by using creatine so it really is incredible.

Thanks

I know you've said that you have tried every form, but have you tried Magnesium Creatine Chelate? Magnesium is used to fight all of your symptoms, so imagine this goes hand in hand for you

ive used all types of creatines solo and stacked and havent had any issues or know someone in person who have reported it.

peakatp stacked with creatine can help fight fatigue .. i assume you have tried HCL as well which is my fav

SNS has a new product called ATP ELITE

Most people should react fine to creatine. I'm sure some people will be using it and having issues but never correlating it to the creatine though?

Prior to me learning about genetics I was taking 5g of creatine daily and walking around with awful anxiety and sleep issues.

Yeh I have a 1kg bag of HCL at home. I've tried a few different types tbh.

That SNS product looks awesome tbh. I might actually pick it up and see if it causes me the same issues? Because it's a pill format I could just start with 1 pill and assess the effects. If I could find a way to use creatine I would 100% have it in my daily routine.

thats very true .. i think as a lurker here do tend to forget about people's genetics or whatnot .. i know the owner of the company has to be super careful as well.

but yeah creatine is awesome

also do you notice like if you eat too much of creatine you have same effects ?
bc i dont think, you would need to eat too much salmon to get 4-5grams

hopefully you find something bc like you said yeah its amazing stuff

I consider Creatine Monohydrate to be "the fountain of youth", (particularly German Creatine.) Increased reps, rapid strength gains, fuller muscles, better energy for daily tasks, alpha attitude, heightened aggression, the list goes on. For mood I take St. John's Wort (again I use a German brand) Perhaps St. John's Wort may help you as well?
How many times do you have to get banned before you understand that you’re not welcome here?

i have used peak atp in a supplement circa 2009 ish, it came in a blister pack of orally dissolving tablets that were cherry flavored, it was during the winter because i had to go to a christmas party for work and had a huge zit on my forehead and i thought the peak atp caused it(sorry about the rambling, just every time i see that picture from that night i think of peak atp.lol). i did not notice any ergogenic benefit from it

i think it was palo alto labs "atp tabs"

i also used a straight atp powder before this looking back at my elitefitness posts from 2010ish. just look up "lankys toxic dose atp log" from november 2010.
