Diagnosed with small internal hernia. What type of belt to use?

Have minor discomfort when sitting in the lower left abdomen, about 2" to the left of the belly button on a flat stomach. Dr. believes small internal hernia. No bulge and it doesn't show on ultrasound or CT scans. He said I could lift only wear a belt or band with front support.
Does anyone use these? the hernia support belt or elastic band?
Dr. is consulting with spec. to formulate plan to exactly locate for surgery purposes.

I function on autopilot. Brain and physical activity keeps me distracted. When idle I revert through the various grief stages and it is ugly.
