Bro prices went up 3.5 years ago and they been the same pretty much since they went up 3.5 years ago lol. Occasionally companies will throw out these BS fake sales of 10% or 20% cause people ain’t spending money so they need to drop prices to make it more intriguing .
The person who posted this thread is a respected member who has posted on AM since 2004. He asked a question because he noticed protein prices had went up again in recent months. He gave detailed pricing in his post. I replied to his post and to his point about it going up and explained why, and let him know the best price that I knew of on protein at the moment.
One of the brands that I use a lot of myself was 49.99 pre-pandemic, went up to over 100.00 for a 5 lb. during the pandemic, then had went back down to around 59.99 to 64.99 and is now back up to 69.99 to 79.99 in the last few months.
I explained the why part of this to anyone that was interested in learning about it. For anyone that isn't, there's no reason to read my posts about it, but also no reason to try to argue with me about it.
I'm not going to argue with or debate anyone on protein prices, or the prices of any raw materials.
I work in the industry and deal with raw material prices every day of my life.
I've discussed in this thread the raw materials costs and the factors that influence what protein sells for.
I explained in detail in this thread about the up and down trends of protein prices and even detailed how we had planned to do a protein last year bc protein prices had been down to their lowest costs since the pandemic and from the time of getting a finished product quote to the time of getting flavor samples approved that the price went up again by about 70%.
There was a whole thread about that at the time, and it was discussed openly about the pricing going up then - and I'm not the only company owner that discussed it and let everyone know then that prices were getting ready to go up again on it.
You are free to criticize companies for offering sale prices on protein if that's the way you view it, but a lot of times that's when the prices come down and they buy batches that are lower cost and they pass the savings along to consumers as a sale price - because they don't want to change their actual retail price and then have to increase it again. So it just makes more sense to present it as a sale.
