Lots of people have these and never get or need surgery. I have had this for years and lift heavy.
However, I did not even know I had it until it came out on another scan. And I have never felt anything in the area.
If you knew about yours and it bothers you, be cautious. imo, the best thing to do, so nothing changes with the hernia, is to have a strong core. Stuff like one arm carries, side planks, planks, McGill big 3, bottom up kettle bell carry, beltless squats and deadlift. Try for better and better bracing for all lifts. Especially squats and deadlifts.
