Small Hernia treatment?

Anyone know of any ways to "fix" or avoid surgery for a small fat-containing right inguinal hernia.

Dr said probably need surgery eventually, but wondering if there are any unconventional ways to go about it.?

Lots of people have these and never get or need surgery. I have had this for years and lift heavy.
However, I did not even know I had it until it came out on another scan. And I have never felt anything in the area.
If you knew about yours and it bothers you, be cautious. imo, the best thing to do, so nothing changes with the hernia, is to have a strong core. Stuff like one arm carries, side planks, planks, McGill big 3, bottom up kettle bell carry, beltless squats and deadlift. Try for better and better bracing for all lifts. Especially squats and deadlifts.

if you do go the surgery route the only thing I can say is about a decade ago my old xfit/PL coach ended up with a double surgery and he was really really happy with the results and went on to some big PRs. He and I thought I was looking at it as well but mine turned out to "just" be a torn adductor magnus up near the pelvic bone but at the time we had done a lot of discussion and research on the surgeries before we had clear diagnosis.

so I don't have great feedback to your original question, just positive information from past experience... hopefully that puts your mind at ease.

another buddy of mine popped one through his abdomen wall the size of a golf ball, freaked out and pushed it back in. went to the dr and said meh, dont' worry about it until it does it again and we'll fix it then. lol

Your doc is 100% correct. To avoid surgery is asking for worse complications (i.e. incarceration, pain, gut issues, etc.). It is a minimally-invasive procedure. There is no other way to reverse it nor should you waste time trying.
