Oh yeah, since pictures were mentioned. I took a quick snap of my forearm last night when I got home and the vascularity was on point.

Dude that’s a legit roadmap.👍
Obviously vascularity is going or flowing good.
I’m glad to see there are others that agree on Oats. I mean I know they’re healthy and all, but man they hit my gut like lead. It is funny how so many believe they are a must add into their diet. Just like Hyde said there are so many other options you can choose. I’m from the south, so I like grits occasionally, and I’m ok with oats in a bar. Kleen, it sounds like you could have a food allergy to them.

Yeah, this is some of the information I found on it and I had several of the symptoms the last couple of days.

Oats are an excellent snack and bring several nutritional benefits. But if you feel unwell and have itchy skin or stomach problems after consuming a bowl of oats, you might be experiencing Oat Intolerance Symptoms. Oat intolerance is often a trigger to your immunity system.

Depending on the level of sensitivity, your body can experience mild to severe symptoms when coming in contact with oats or consuming oats. Oat Intolerance Symptoms are different from wheat intolerance ones as the constituent of wheat that triggers the immune response is gluten, whereas, in oats, it is the protein avenin.

More than 20% of people worldwide have some kind of food allergy or intolerance [1]. This forms a sizable chunk of the population, and as some allergy flare-ups are more aggressive than the others, you need to know which ones relate to what allergy to manage your sensitivities well.

Sometimes what you might term as oat intolerance could be a reaction to gluten. Even though oats don’t contain gluten, they are usually manufactured alongside other grains with gluten (like rye), and your intolerance could be the result of cross-contamination. Cross-contamination like this often results in misdiagnosis. To know the difference, you can read more on symptoms of gluten intolerance.

What Is Oat Intolerance?
Oats have a protein called avenin that is excellent for manufacturing new cells and muscular build-up, but certain individuals can either develop or have a hereditary sensitivity towards avenin.

Oat intolerance triggers your body’s immune system releasing antibodies to fight off avenin, which the body now views as a threat. Like other food items, oat intolerance leads to the production of Immunoglobulin G or IgG antibodies in the body. Severe allergies trigger the release of Immunoglobulin E or IgE antibodies that exhibit a much more violent response [2].

Oat intolerance can trigger several reactions, from itchy skin to watery eyes. While some symptoms might be more violent than others, knowing and managing your condition is the best option. If you experience severe symptoms like anaphylactic shock, you will need immediate help from your doctor. Anaphylactic shock occurs on rare occasions, and it’s usually a sign of a severe allergic reaction rather than intolerance. It occurs approximately one hour after consumption.

If you’re intolerant to oats or you think you might have an allergy to them, you should always check labels on products for avenin, oats, and oat powder.

It is dire to know when you or someone else is having an anaphylactic shock in order to get immediate help. Symptoms of anaphylaxis include; hives, itchy skin, trouble breathing or wheezing, diarrhoea, vomiting, swollen throat or tongue, fainting, dizziness, weak, rapid pulse, and a drop in blood pressure. Although one might not get all these symptoms at once, if you or someone else has most of these symptoms, the simplest way to get help is to call 911 or your doctor if that’s easier.

7 Worst Oat Intolerance Symptoms

Avenin or oat exposure can trigger an autoimmune response from the body, and an individual can experience the Oat Intolerance Symptoms that include:

  1. Blotchy, irritated, itchy skin
  2. Rash or skin irritation on and in the mouth
  3. Scratchy throat
  4. Runny nose or Nasal congestion
  5. Itchy eyes
  6. Nausea
  7. Common cough
Unfortunately many of these symptoms can look like Covid, so we have helped you further understand the difference here.

Other less common but oat related symptoms include:

  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhoea
  • Stomach pain
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Anaphylaxis
Different people can experience different symptoms, but if your symptoms are similar to any of these, then chances are you might be allergic to oats. Mild sensitivity can trigger a runny nose or a scratchy throat. Still, a serious one is accompanied by difficulty breathing as the nasal passages swell up and can also exhibit symptoms like rashes and uncontrollable itches.

If the exposure is not reduced, the symptoms can further flare up and last for hours. Physical contact usually leads to skin-related symptoms, while consumption is accompanied by respiratory, digestive, and skin-related ones.

When children have a reaction due to wheat consumption, they experience a protein-induced enterocolitis syndrome (FPIES). FPIES affects the gastrointestinal tract causing symptoms like vomiting, dehydration, diarrhoea, and poor growth. If this condition drags on for a long time or is severe, it can lead to starvation and lethargy. Multiple foods can also lead to FPIES besides oats.

Oat allergy is different from most other allergies as most other food-related allergies focus on gluten, something commonly found in wheat. If the oats are grown in the same field as wheat or rye, then gluten allergy symptoms can also appear, making it impossible to diagnose the allergy by symptoms alone."

12/8/23 - Fasted Weight - 200.8 - Looking nice and tight!

Training this morning was nice and productive, I tested out my ability to do Rack Pulls and the Arsenal Chest Supported Row. I performed well on both of these without any pain. I did not push to failure just to stay safe but definitely increased total volume. I only go through the 2 exercises because I was being very deliberate and careful about being very warmed up. Plus setting up the rack pulls if a time consuming effort with how I have to kind of build a station to do it. I will post up my session once I complete the workout but I was able to do 315x15, and 315x12 both at about 2RIR. I focused on a slow breaking the bar off the blocks and finished with scapular retraction at the top. So i am stoked about being able to do these and should be able to really push them next week after this little test run. On the Arsenal Rows i matched my previous weight at a lower perceived effort level, and went up 10lbs on my last set and did 13 just to get myself to about 1RIR.

Very happy with this result and effort! I will ask coach this week if he thinks I should go back to barbell RDL's so I can handle more weight or if I should stick with the DB's for the greater range of motion they provide. That or do the barbell but with a deficit or using 25lb weight plates instead.

I feel like my physique is improving even though my weight is on the way up which is awesome. Of course that is just looking in the mirror, we will have to see what is showing up in my pics tomorrow. I will probably post up a pic of me fasted as well as post workout with some food and a pump in the mix.

I have about an hour and a half available for my training at lunch today. So I will do my cardio, then finish up my back work right after. That way the last signal I send my body is to grow!

Yeah, it was nice to see it and be validated in my suspicions. I had never heard of this before. As mentioned people act like Oats are the holy grail off healthy carbs, and you never hear anything negative about them. The fiber content is almost always blamed for the issue but this verifies there is a greater issue at hand for some. I always just went with the fact there was fiber in it as to why it sat in my stomach like lead and caused issues but now I know that is not the case for me.

I was the same way….throughout the 90s into the early 2000s I was one that always added oats, you know healthy carbs, fiber, heart health, and so on, then as I got older I just didn’t tolerate them anymore, just to many digestive issues, so I gave up on them a few years ago, except for when I may grab a bar with a Fairlife high protein drink at a convenience store or something.

Yeah, I am okay with things that contain oats in smaller amounts but 1/2 cup was just too much for me, and the intolerance is definitely progressive for me at least. I took them out of my regular diet for about 2 years prior due to these situations. However, it was definitely worse this time.

Congrats on the painless blockpulls! Sounds like that session was the definition of focusing on quality work. You know what you did had weight to it (no pun intended).
Yeah, I was very happy with this. I even had someone to celebrate it with. He was there when it happened and saw me gradually just get worse over the workout and was worried. So we both got excited I was able to do them and with 3 wheels per side no less. This guy is a man possessed. He lifts and runs almost every single day. Like 9-30 miles a day type of thing. Dude is a mental beast. We chat a little every morning in between some of our sets. He is the guy who plays the motivational stuff all the time.

Yeah, didn't get too stressed about it. Just annoyed it meant I would have less time with the wife and kids last night. It's the reason I get up so early. My session was probably better because if it. I am sure I got some reps I wouldn't have if already pre-fatigued but with 3 big meals and several hours in between performance was majorly improved.

Yeah, that wasn't flexed or after any activity or anything. I just happened to notice it in the mirror and thought damn they look like ropes.

As far as for my lunch hour and the espresso, I actually, just decided to just watch some funny videos on youtube, relax and enjoy the down time at my desk. Admittedly, I was fidgeting my legs the whole time but that is pretty common for me with my ADHD.
I have been there once or twice. LMAO!

12/9/23 - 199.8lbs

Interesting data, I put my recorded body weight into a spreadsheet, and did an average weight for the month of November, and the month of December. I have only gained about .5lbs over the last 40 days. However in the middle of that time I hit a low of 194.8, and a high of 202.6 I was flowing in the 195-197 range a couple weeks during the cutting portion but have added on a solid 4 lbs since then. So with the recent calories supposed to have been quite a bit above my maintenance I have only added .4lbs in the last 2 weeks of what should have been a substantial surplus. I think it is safe to say my metabolism is all kinds of revved up at the moment.

Wow man your back is coming along really good! Arms are too, your triceps are starting to get that nice separation and look massive. Same with your biceps on the front double bicep pose looks massive.

couple questions, 1. Do you feel like the bent over rows with DB give a little more range of motion for better activation? Just curious I can’t say I’ve tried them with db.

2. the DB tricep kick back do you do them forward facing on a bench at a angle or how is your method? I want to incorporate these on my next meso.

Yeah, this is some of the information I found on it and I had several of the symptoms the last couple of days.

"

Woman seated on the floor with arms around her knees curling forward

Those extra calories are going to the right places. Back is looking wide and thick. Arms are looking thick, and the double biceps pose is a good one for you. You’re getting a nice bicep peak on that side flex too. Looks like between diet and training you’re ahead of schedule, that’s always good.👍💪

Yes it definitely allows for more range of motion at both the peak contraction and stretched position. I definitely think they are valuable for building muscle and strength. I won't go so far to say they are superior to barbell movements for this but equal and a different tool that can be varied to target different areas just a little more than barbells. However the weight that can be moved on a barbell brings some serious mechanical load to the table evening things out. So one is not more important than the other.
It's easy to do...

Yes Sir, and loving it!

Thanks, it's actually a tattoo made to look like scarification. He did a good job, it was an anniversary tattoo the wife and I got together. Hers is even better now because her skin holds red ink really well. It's kanji for Fate, because we say we were destined to be together all the time. Couldn't find the one for destiny but that's basically what fate means anyway so that is what we went with. We didn't want to do names or anything like that.
Definitely leaner at this heavier weight, looking better and better. Gyno and loose skin are really looking great too, going to be no issue when you step on stage.
Thanks! Yeah, I am pretty comfortable with both them at this point. I just didn't want to look like I had a set of breast up there. I know the loose skin will get tighter, and paper thin at 5-6%

12/10/23 - Fasted Weight - 203.4 - Rest day

=================================================================================

12/11/23 - Fasted Weight 206.2 -
Man the weight is starting to stick to me the last 2 days. Big increases, of course I have to combine some meals and end up with more food later in the day so it could have to do with that as well. Plus harder to get my 7 liters of water in on those days. I am awake about 4-5 less hours on the weekends. That is when I actually try to accomplish getting 8 hours of sleep if possible. Often this requires going back to sleep around 4ish and 6ish in the morning. Hoping to make it to around 8:00AM. Since my body is used to training upon wake up If I get up and do anything other than pee and go back to bed, I will not be able to sleep again. So eating then is not an option.

Chest & Biceps - Monday, Dec 11, 2023 at 4:42am

Incline Chest Press (Machine)
Set 1: 90 lbs x 6 @ 10 rpe [Failure] -
Failed on rep 7 up 5lbs done to true failure
RP Set 2: 90 lbs x 3 @ 10 rpe [Failure] - Failed on rep 4 Up 5 lbs
Set 3: 80 lbs x 6 @ 10 rpe [Failure] Failed on rep 7, Up 5 lbs

Iso-Lateral Chest Press (Machine)
Set 1: 65 lbs x 10 @ 9 rpe
Set 2: 65 lbs x 8 @ 10 rpe [Failure]
Down Set 3: 65 lbs x 10 @ 10 rpe
Drop Set: 50 lbs x 6 @ 10 rpe [Failure] -
True RPE10, I actually couldn't quite lock it out which is why it says failure.
Drop Set: 30 lbs x 6 @ 10 rpe [Failure] - I went to failure again to test out my shoulder and see if this was a separate issue than the referral pain from my neck and back, and it was it's own separate issue. From now on I will be doing Set 1- to RPE9, with two resp pauses to an RPE9 as well.

Bench Press (Cable)
Set 1: 50 lbs x 15 @ 8.5 rpe
Set 2: 50 lbs x 15 @ 9.5 rpe -
Up 10lbs on this set from last time.
Set 3: 50 lbs x 14 @ 10 rpe [Failure] - 2 rep increase from last time.

Chest Fly (Machine)
Set 1: 100 lbs x 21 @ 8.5 rpe
Set 2: 100 lbs x 21 @ 9.5 rpe -
Up 10lbs on this set from last time.
Set 3: 100 lbs x 20 @ 10 rpe [Failure] - I only got the 21st rep about halfway, so hit failure on last rep.

Spider Curl (Dumbbell)
Set 1: 25 lbs x 15 @ 8.5 rpe
Set 2: 25 lbs x 15 @ 9.5 rpe
Set 3: 25 lbs x 13 @ 10 rpe [Failure] -
Up 5 lbs on this last set. Failed on 14th rep

Bicep Curl (Dumbbell)
Set 1: 20 lbs x 15 @ 8 rpe
Set 2: 20 lbs x 15 @ 9 rpe
Set 3: 20 lbs x 14 @ 10 rpe [Failure]
Got the 15th rep about halfway up for a 2 rep increase.

As mentioned, I woke up big this morning. A nice and tight 206.2lbs. Waist slightly thicker, but still very tight and fullness was off the charts. Chest looked massive after just 1 warm up set!

After going to failure on the first sets of my chest press I had a hard time stabilizing my scaps, and mildly annoyed my labrum. Hence the going back to adding in some rest pauses to those sets and staying at an rpe 9 instead of hitting failure on chest press movements.

**** oats. People in bodybuilding are so obsessed with them, as if 5-10g fiber/day is going to be the difference in keeping your lipids managed while you’re loading up on Tren & DHT derivative orals at the end of a prep. So many people digest them so poorly, or struggle to eat the food volume, yet then continue to choke it down and suffer with the bloat because, you know, they’re magic or something. It’s just fucking glucose.

If you like them, digest them well & the volume is good for you, they’re a great food choice. If not, make a bowl of grits, or rice, or bran flakes, or pasta, or quinoa, or….

are you tossing in cardio here and there as you want it, or trying to achieve x amount per week? At first I thought you were doing it daily, but...

I do cardio 5 times a week preferably during my lunch break when possible. So normally during the week it is every day unless something keeps me from doing it during lunch. I won't go at night if I can avoid it.

Nice! I definitely see some improvement there as well. More in the thickness but both seem to be coming back nicely right now.

Today has been a rough one, I have been to the restroom cleaning myself out on and off all day long. I am sure there is going to be a weight drop tomorrow. Will be good because eating has been a bit rough today still feeling so full. We shall see how things go tomorrow hopefully a little easier to eat tomorrow. I will be taking my progress pics in the morning so hopefully not still holding on to a lot of bloat tomorrow morning.

It seems like everyone is sick, But everyone has a different sentence. So it's not like something's going around, but it's more like everything is going around lol
Going strong over 5 weeks now on this bronchitis. I have been holding off on taking a zpac because I don’t want to trash my gut on this bulk, but man I’m not sure it’s going to improve any since it hasn’t yet. Every day is exactly the same.

Mine keeps changing i feel like. I called out again today. I woke up at 3am in a cold sweat with body aches and i keep getting muscle spasms. I spoke too soon on the no fever because now i got one. At 3am it was 103.4 when i woke up. But i was wrapped in blankets. I waited a few and it was consistantly 102.6-102.8

I justvdid it again and after a hour and 800mg ibprofen its 101.4 so not terrible i guess. Im severely dehydrated tho and it seems like no amount of fluids is fixing it

Damn it! @Smont hate to hear that. I hope you start feeling better ASAP.

This morning was rough on me. Just feeling nauseous and had to rest longer than normal to get my stuff in. Ending up calling it after lunges, and will do the rest at lunch. Woke up lighter, but still bloated looking and holding some water. My preworkout smoothie and banana beat me up, I felt full from the first drink. I am hoping coach wants to stay at this calorie level another week so I can get more used to it but we shall see where we go from here. Either way, I definitely have something going on with my gut the last couple of days leaving me bloated and distended a little bit.

I took my progress pics this morning, and will post them up after I finish doing my check in. I have to have it in before noon today. So it is going to take priority over my usual update. Going to go make meal #2 and sit down and fill it out while I am eating.

Do you have glutamine? High dose of 20-30gm a day is really good for your gut. It seems like more is better up to that 30gm or so dose.

Check your DM's i sent you the tracking but it appears To be out for delivery, expected december 12th by 9pm.

I feel you dude, im sick as a dog. I lost 6lbs over the weekend yet im bloated at the same time. Nose is stuffed closed, definately bronchitis and my anxiety has been on level 20. I havnt pinned or trained since thursday or friday. I think not b3ing able To really do anything is why I have such bad anxiety. Last night while my nose was stuffed up. I had an anxiety attack and my throat swelled closed and it was scary as ****.
I'm at 2.5 weeks right now with a little congestion/runny nose still. a few days ago I blew the weirdest yellowest **** out of my nose. energy has felt 100% for at least a week now but the stuffiness and slight cough still showing its face. everyone is getting this one. my dad had it for 10 days, my brother is staying home from work today.

@Smont I had the throat thing for a few days as well. it was waking me up twice a night the first week freaking out and getting a glass of water to keep the throat open.

my buddy had me take some allegra to clear the head a couple of times and honestly I think it worked wonders.

I know I touched on this once before, but I'd like to hear more of your thoughts on the fasting vs caloric deficit approach when you get back to cutting. Seems obvious to me that a coach is going to have you in a higher cardio/caloric deficit program but you had so much success in 2023 with fasting, I've seen Hyde fast his way down for comps, etc. I don't remember exact dates but it seems like you're down around 25lbs or maybe more from your peak weights earlier this year in ... was it... like NO for anniversary and stuff?

then back in May when you introduced me to ADF I was still able to PR both my lifts and lose 10lbs the same month with caloric surpluses on my lifting days. so the whole thing still has me fascinated.

I was 230 the end of last December, so those weights sound about right. As far as fasting, I would have to actually try to replicate what I have done recently with the cut effects with fasting and see if I maintain as much. I will say that prepping all of my meals and eating repeated meals has increased my ability to hit target nutrition numbers, and be in the habit of just getting it done. I can definitely see the benefit of that aspect, but honestly I could do both, eat all prepped meals and then fast for a 24-60 hour period then go right back to a specific meal plan and do really well. As well as now, I am not sure. If I were doing this as a lifestyle situation, I would likely still fast a bit.

===============================================================================

Here are my progress / check in pics from this morning. I figured out why my weight is lower on Saturdays and Sundays when i wake up. I am fasted, and dehydrating about 5 more hours by that point which gets rid of extra water and food in my gut. However what you see here is the result of me holding a good amount of water recently. Not sure if why exactly but you can definitely tell I am a little spilled over, but still look good Muscle fullness is on point for sure.

absolutely phenomenal. You are going to look fantastic on stage. I think to get my abs to pop like that again I'm going to have to weigh in nearly 20lbs less than you do, with me being an inch taller and 10 years younger. fantastic foundation you've built.

12/12/23 - Fasted Weight 203.8

Legs - Tuesday, Dec 12, 2023 at 4:36am

Pendulum Squat (Machine)
Set 1: 125 lbs x 7 @ 10 rpe
Set 2: 100 lbs x 11 @ 10 rpe [Failure]
- Up 10lbs on both

Leg Press (Machine)
Set 1: 470 lbs x 12 @ 8 rpe
Set 2: 470 lbs x 12 @ 9.5 rpe
Set 3: 470 lbs x 12 @ 10 rpe -
Up 20lbs per set

Walking Lunge (Dumbbell)
35x8 @ RPE 8.5
35x8 @ RPE 9.5 -
Up 5lbs per side both sets

Romanian Deadlift (Dumbbell)
Set 1: 50 lbs x 15 @ 7 rpe - up 15lbs
Set 2: 65 lbs x 12 @ 8 rpe - Up 15lbs
Set 3: 75 lbs x 9 @ 8.5 rpe - Up 25lbs -
I am going to have to go back to barbell to go heavier, and will likely use 25lb plates to get more room to get into a stretched position due to my highly flexible self...

Seated Leg Curl (Machine)
Set 1: 80 lbs x 20 @ 7 rpe
Set 2: 100 lbs x 15 @ 8 rpe
Set 3: 130 lbs x 10 @ 9.5 rpe [Failure]
Set 4: 90 lbs x 20 @ 9.5 rpe [Failure] -
Had to really bump weights here since it was a different machine than normal.

Leg Press Calf Raise
Set 1: 30 reps
Set 2: 23 reps
Set 3: 16 reps -
Nice burn, I got about 8 additional reps across the sets here. These are slow negatives with a 2 second pause in as deep a stretch as possible. Calves looked silly and my legs were trembling at the urinal after the session.

Thanks AK! My traps are just going to grow and grow. I don't really train them directly but rowing and upright rows hit them well indirectly and mine are naturally pretty big.
As a matter of fact, when I was born my shoulders and traps were apparently so big the Dr. handed me to My Mom and said Congratulations, you had a linebacker!

You really are making great progress……you’re still ripped, but all your muscles are looking full, and you’re really well balanced, nice symmetry. One of the things I used to like about Frank Zane, even though he wasn’t very big, was his symmetry, and how well balanced he was.

Oh a good bit of it! It was a lot of down a little, up a little, down some more up a little to keep and rebuild muscle mass from muscle memory. This is apparently the first picture I thought was worthy of posting that year at 213.1 lbs in mid-March. So you can add on about 15lbs from this point. It wasn't pretty....

Thanks, I dropped 2lbs of water between yesterday, and this morning. Looking MUCH TIGHTER again.

It is awesome you mentioned Zane, because I believe it was his body weight and height they used to design the ideal physique for Classic Physique if I remember correctly. He was always a bodybuilder I felt like I could obtain his physique or very similar if i really pushed things. I am pretty sure his waist is probably smaller but otherwise there are a lot of similarities in our build.

12/13/23 - Fasted Weight 201.8lbs - I dropped 2 lbs of water yesterday. Also, my last 2 meals were much easier to eat. Now I am wondering if I wasn't just fighting something off that was causing some gut disturbance, and inflammation or something.
I got some more Super Cardarine, and some Exemestane from @Smont for the weight belt, and it arrived yesterday. I will start taking 5mg a day again when I return to Houston next week to keep lipids in check.

That is some stout stuff, definitely will lower blood sugar so taking it in the morning may make earlier meals easier to eat.
Yeah it is, that is when I take it too. So it should help out there. I didn't even think of that aspect. Good thinking!

Thanks! Yeah, it is mostly psuedo-gyno, there is a tiny bit of actual gland there but it is not going to be bad come show time with the fat loss. Probably even if I don't do much to minimize it later going in to the show.

Is the super Cardarine that much better? I haven’t opened my bottle from MA yet, ordered it and tore my tri the day b4 it showed. I was allegedly taking Cardarine when I got injured but that or my Mk were bunk or they “identified differently than the label assigned at the lab”. Lol. Suppressed w achy joints and high BP. I’d break a sweat changing channels w the remote.

My lipids were the best they have been in a decade at 8 weeks into my cycle from taking 5mg of super-cardarine, a low fat diet and 25-35 minutes of cardio 5 times a week. I would definitely say it is that powerful on the lipid front.
