The dissapearing man

Mom likes the shredded look.💪😎
Where I'm from brick **** house means huge, way bigger then normal or ridiculously tuff and rugged. Not something I would use for shredded. But what I was getting at is the illusion of him looking bigger ripped then when he was 240

And last time you were there you were 40lbs BIGGER weren't you?
Yup..smh..stupid dbol..my mom said I should seriously consider a show next year. She thinks it would be good for me mentally/ emotionally to do one. She was like you Don have to do anymore after unless you want to but do atleast one that way you'll know how far you can go and you won't have to wonder later in life what could've been

I don't know if a contest prep is good for mental health lol. But it will definitely give you a piece of mind and it's exactly why I still wanna squeeze in some fights. 5-10 years from now I won't have the option outside of masters over 40 and that dosent interest me nearly as much as fighting huys under 40 or even under 30

Yea that's what her and my uncle both said. They were shocked that I'm under 200 pounds. It's hard for " normal" people to grasp that I look bigger at 200 pounds than I did at 240

Short term mental health obviously no. Lol. But i think she was more getting at progressing in the grieving process of losing Em. So long term mental and emotional health it woukd probably be good. When I was really into bodybuilding in my late 20s early 30s they were kinda weirded out by it or indifferent to it, I was also living in San Diego so they didn't see me as much. But I think now that they're around it more and they see what it has done for me these past 2 years, now they're a lot more supportive about it. My stepmother always has been supportive and helped me because she's into working out and eating right

They have masters mma/ boxing like they do bodybuilding? Like 2 dudes over 50 throwing down!?! That's wild

Yeah, I knew, I got it…in the South they use it for built, but same premise. With guys they’ll say he’s built like a Brick Sh** House, and for women they’ll say she’s a Brick House, taken way back from the Commodore’s 1977 song. But either way, definitely one of the best complements you can get.

I think you could win a Classic Physique now. I think the weight limit on Classic Physique at under 5’11” is 212 lbs, but after a bulk and then a contest prep., you coming in even bigger at this body fat percentage, then obviously that would open up even more doors.

Just like guys who played baseball or basketball might like to play senior league or whatever after they retire so do fighters. And some of these over 55 guys would still kick my ass. Sure you can probably knock them out easier in there oldvage but this is some of these guys lives. There's 55+ fighters with 200 fights or more.

Idk about you guys but I'd rather fight a 30 year old with a handful of fights then a 55 year old with 147 fights. Some of these guys have been in fight shape for over 30 years in a row!

that's a great way of putting it, minimum 30hrs per month of cardio on your cut.
I wonder if a long 3-5hr hike fasted on say a Saturday morning would help cut some cardio sessions down to say 30minutes instead of 60+. the amount of time you are putting in is awesome, I think that's one of the things that sets a lot of people back is finding the time for quality work

that's an awesome compliment man
I definitely would not put it that way. You can absolutely get contest ready with less cardio than that. I started with 135, and ended prep with 180 minutes a week. A very strict diet took care of the rest. I was easily in the best condition of anyone at my show.

Now if you are trying to do it transformation style and lose weight as quickly as possible then this is the way, You just have to be willing to accept some additional muscle loss, or be on enough gear to maintain the muscle in such a catabolic environment, I would agree.

Keep in mind John Meadows was big on minimizing cardio and using shorter rest periods with people he worked with. He used the shorter rest periods, and nutrition to drive most of the fat loss otherwise. Bottom line though, you don't get uber ripped without some serious sacrifice regardless of the methods used.

Where I am from it just meant sturdy AF! If someone was yoked they got that comment, but they had to be leanish too. Not just big, they had to look muscular and fit or "built". The bigger burly guys were either Corn Fed, Bubbas, Big ol Boys, or Oxes.

I feel like you all can guess I was raised in Appalachia just by those names for big dudes. LOL

It seems to me the more shows you do the less cardio you have to do. All the guys we follow talk about how they're not doing as much cardio whether it's nick walker or big Paul

It's because they stay leaner then years past I believe. The fatter you are the more cardio you need. Probably why Lee priest was doing 2hrs a day 7 days a week lol

My little diet pause or maintenance period of sorts is about done. 188 and I'm pretty happy honestly. I'm gonna do some last minute things I normally do leading up to vacation and IL take some progress pics end of the week.

Moving forward after vacation I gotta start my morning walks and jogs, double down on sparring and mitt work too. So diet is gonna just stay on cruise control that first week or 2 just to see what moves. IL have about 5 weeks of really hard conditioning/training with very little weights. Probably no hypertrophy type work at all during this time, anything that may hinder the boxing will be out the window. Honestly I'm hoping they don't find a opponent till the following event in November so I got more time but whatever IL get it done

It's weird how you want something soooo bad and I'm super confident in my ability on this lower level of boxing but I still got butterflies and doubts in my endurance. I can keep up with the best of them on the cardio stuff but I have a very hard time keeping pace when boxing. Im built for short explosivemovements. So I either slow my role or just do cardio out the yingyang. I'd ideally be doing 10 rounds on the bag 1 week out. I'm only good for 5 right now, 3 solid and 2 half ass. Luckily it's a 3 round fight but still. I want a cake walk, not a struggle buss

I’m going to need a lot after this meet in 5 weeks 🤣

I don’t think a lot of people realize how going a few all out rounds on a heavy bag will absolutely wear you out. I swear a heavy bag will make you sweat like nothing else, but I’ve always loved beating the crap out of a bag.💪

That’s because that train has more weight to move at the meet. That engine has to be big.
Those PRs are found at the kitchen table as well as in the gym.

It’s just the truth. You don’t have to be big to be strong, but getting bigger makes you stronger. And when you have been doing this for as long as I have, nothing comes that fast or easy - you need to look under every stone you can to find ways to raise the bar.

I'm curious how you math out 135 minutes. that's a little over 19 per day? lol
is that 3 x 45 minute LISS sessions per week for you?

In years past I've always found 30+ minutes of liss takes me from maintenance to absolutely melting fat off. even if it's 10min prewo and 20min post.

Probably some truth to that. I know Layne likes to cycle his cut/bulk cycles lately at like 4-6 weeks each.
Hell at 197lbs I'm feeling about like I normally do at 185lbs in terms of leanness, but it took me 1 year to carefully (sorta) put on about 14lbs. I have no idea if that means I'll get back to my 10% over 180 or sub 180lbs like it used to be (probably sub) but the lean mass growth definitely gives the appearance of being leaner at much more weight.

Sorry I haven't b3en super active past week or 2. I honestly can't remember where I last updated but IL recap. Diet break is over, I'm 193 this morning with a full set of abs (dehydrated) by noon there gone lol. Not gone but not as crisp.

Saturday I did a bodybuilding push workout, yesterday I did a bodybuilding pull workout, today I jogged 3 miles and walked 1.5 miles, carbs were 100 yesterday and will be 100 today, I don't think I really need keto carb numbers with how active I am. I'm just kinda floating like this till Saturday or Sunday and leaving for Florida Monday. The following 30 days when I get back Is balls to the wall (gotta make 178 and be conditioned) and twords the end of October IL make new adjustments and new goals. (Thinking about staying in a maintenance Stage for November and December to be honest.)

Still on 8 pumps of Ursa in the morning and yesterday I started triton back up 4am/4pre workout. Had great pumps yesterday too and quite a few compliments so hey🤷 can't complain.

Almost forgot this update, my outdoors plants Invalid Link RemovedInvalid Link Removedstarted budding!

I didn’t know you were a horticulturist too. By the look of those buds you have a “Green” thumb.😎
I have 3 gardens, I'm "ok" at gardening. My daughter is in charge of a greenhouse at school and probably knows more then me already but I know enough to grow some veggies, and pot lol.

I like to think of myself as a jack of all trades and a master of absolutely nothing lol

What's up fellas..so i left my phone at my mom's house in Vegas. The one time I was stone cold sober and I forget my phone lol. Just got it back in the mail today. Did I miss anything?

I was just wondering the other day if you got stuck in all that flooding out that way.

Cbum retiring.
Iain Vailliere retiring.
Big Paul says maingaining is best way to get lean and huge, and IIFYM > chicken and rice.
Dr.Todd is switching to Mens Physique class.

I'm about 3/4 of the way through Ursa and there some air bubbles or something making the pump not evenly distribute unless it's perfectly upright. Would a hot water bath help? Or should I just pump the bottle upright into my hand and then apply.

I been getting half squirts so I haven't been counting those twords my 8 pumps, im probably more like 9 pumps a day considering that

Soooo........ my muscular endurance or ability to grind out reps has really improved even tho my weight training has kinda been mediocre at best. My pulling strength is fantastic given my weight loss I'm 100% cool with that, my pushing strength on barbells and dumbbells is way down.

This time last year here's a push session I did 6 weeks out from the bench press comp. (The chest portion)

Flat bench 320×3,3,3 back off set 225x24
Close grip bench 225×12,9,8
DB fly 50's 15,15,15

Yesterday

Flat 245×3,3, backoff 185×15, 135×21
Db fly 50's ×15,15
Clean into a close grip incline and then sit back up with the weight and put it back on the floor
135×10,10,10

Significant loss in pushing strength. I will say I have been very tight on form and slow negative exploding up so there's more effort in the set but that is a mighty strength drop.

Oh ya, there's the gear factor. I'm on 125 test every 5 days vs 900mg a week last year

i have had this with a bottle or two. Just keep it up wright and add that extra pump is about all u can do. Its not a gelling problem it's like a bad nozzle or something. your good though by adding that 9th pump.

Aight, honestly it's not a big deal i just figured I'd ask if there was some kind of quick fix. I'm aiming to finish this up over the next 1.5 weeks and add the 6oxo product in for the last 30 days. I haven't used anything with 6oxo in years but I remember liking it as I use to use it quite often in my mid 20's

Obviously the solution is to take 9,000mg/wk. If 900 was better than 125, 9g will be 10x better, of course. It’s science.

That’s only 30cc of 300mg/ml gear each week. Think of the site enhancement potential from all the chronic inflammation.

Makes sense to me

I can cram it all in my glutes and do Brazil booty shows, for straight men only of course...

Jokes aside, over the past few years I've noticed my overall bodyweight and my training at that moment seem to be more important then my gear load for my strength numbers. Obviously adding gear at a given bodyweight will increase my strength but I've always noticed a direct link between bodyweight And my pushing strength vs. Other lifts like deads and squats that don't go down as much. My accessories or secondary exercises are actually the same stronger right now tho.

Today is pull and heavy bag work

Sounds like you have a good plan.

Correct, 3x45 a week. I started with 3x30 and went up from there.

I think if totally depleted you might see 180 again but probably closer to 185. I think a 5lb increase in LBM is very likely and doable considering you just now started focusing on strength and hypertrophy.

Well...... I ended up doing like 8 sets of box squats and I was gonna go into deadlifts and chins ect. But I got talked out my workout into a sparring session. I got worked by a guy half my size lol. He gassed me out in 2 rounds and I had to take a breather lol
