Hair loss. Is fin worth it???

I'd definitely stay away from topical fin if you're having a kid on the way it can easily get absorbed trough skin contact and its well known to cause birth defects

I don't understand the whole birth defects thing. Does this mean if the woman is exposed to finasteride it can cause birth defects? If that's the case he can just use oral finasteride. I don't see how using it orally would cause any birth defects (unless there is something I'm missing?)

Been on 1mg daily oral of fin for 6 months now, no erectile disfunction, buuuuttttt.....
My libido has taken a hit. Just not very interested, which is noticable becauze im natutally a hornball. Im in my pct for test-1, that may have something to do with it. But ivr noticed that my hair isnt getting any better, it just slowed it from getting worse. Fins not a wonder drug. But i do believe its helping

I’m on oral finasteride (1mg) and oral minoxidil (2.5mg). Topicals were a nightmare of itching and irritation. Have to use two different providers because they won’t prescribe together. 0 libido and ED. Hair seems to be getting better though. Oh well

Are you in Europe? I don't think oral minoxidil is available in the USA.... not sure why.

Semi related, I seemed to notice an accelerated rate of my hair thinning out at the start of 2021, which was about 3 months after having gotten OG covid in the fall of '20 (just felt like a few days of bad allergies but lost taste/smell for nearly a full year) so wondered if anyone else noticed that as well...?

Im in the US.

Interesting... I just looked it up and noticed it's available in the US now. For a long time the oral version wasn't approved in the US and only available outside the country but it looks like it's now approved. I wonder if there are studies comparing the effectiveness of the oral vs topical version.

Oral seems to be just as effective from what I’ve read. Aside from viagra or similar, not sure how to fix the low libido and ED

(Didn’t see the need to start a new thread)
Anyway….just watched the latest hair video from MpMd….Kind of interesting, he’s got his own derma needle thing…Looks painful lol.
My question to you all is, does anyone think he got a transplant? The before and after is just too damn good to be rogaine and scratching up your scalp 🤷‍♂️

If he got a transplant at one point he would have had to wear a wig for all his videos for probably a year. I doubt he had a transplant, unless he had enoughhair to get the transplantand style his remaining hair so that you can't see it? Normally they shave your head forva transplantfrom what ive seen. I also doubt his "new derma needle thing" was something he actually used since he fixed his hair several years ago. I would go watch his old hair stuff. I remember a big portion of his original protocol had something to do with caster oil

Honest to God, I must have Baan half asleep because I don't remember posting ☝️ lol

Use this to safely block DHT. Massage a dime size amount into the scalp, allow to sit 5+mins. Rinse

Use EOD at least. This can thicken hair. Don't confuse this with what you buy OTC at the store, aka Nizoral 1. This is not the same animal.

I’d be careful with this stuff, it can dry your scalp to a crisp. Using every 3 days I had scales after a few weeks and took awhile to get back to normal.

I don't know the guy we are talking about so I can't really comment, however I know a few people who have gotten hair transplants they did not shave all of their heads. You can certainly hide it after a week or so if you wanted.

And if the guy does YouTube videos it's possible he can just film them in advance and release them while he's recovering.

No he couldn't do that, he was up to date, multiple videos daily for years and on multiple other people's podcasts all the time. He would have had to pre film probably 900-1200 videos to have made it through a year without posting

It doesn't take a year to hide a transplant though. A lot of it would depend on whether they shaved his head, where the hair was transplanted (if it was to lower the hairline it would be more obvious), how long it took for the redness on the scalp to clear up, etc. I've seen them where you can't even see they've had a hair transplant after 2 weeks. It depends on the person's recovery from the scabbing and redness though but it definitely doesn't take a year to conceal a transplant.

For the sake of not beating a dead horse on a irrelevant topic go look through his YouTube videos. It would be damn near impossible for him to have hidden a hair transplant while making like 10 - 20 videos a week for years on end and going on other people's podcasts snd YouTube channels while documenting every step of his hair regrowth in a daily to weekly basis.

And if he did get a hair transplant, good for him, they did a great job. I got a full head of hair so I'm not too worried

Maybe you're right. I'm just saying that I've seen guys take 2 weeks off following their hair transplant surgery and when they return back to work you wouldn't have known they ever had a hair transplant. I don't know the guy and wasn't really referring to him. I was just saying it's extremely easy to hide that you had a hair transplant nowadays.
