Interior redecorating for more efficiency. Shuffled a few things around, cut out holes in stall mats for rack to sit directly on concrete, reverse hyper in better spot.

Might swap the plate storage pins to the front of the rack instead of the back once I start using equipment for bench to counterweight it.

Off to work now I’ll wrap this up tomorrow am.

Yeah this looks great! Jealous, mine looks like everything is stuffed on top of everything else. I need the nice rubber flooring too, it makes such a difference.

Looks good!

Yeah, that is a nice setup.

Thanks! So possibly in July, I may move my equipment to a climate controlled basement below some shops that my buddy owns. Dirt cheap, tons of space, I could even get sleds running in that space.
I would miss grabbing sub zero bars like out in my garage though! 🤣
Pondering…..

As long as it’s close by so you don’t mind driving over to it.

That was also my initial thought. Just something about walking 5 steps to the garage as opposed to going to the gym.

Yeah it would be a short drive or bicycle to it. That’s my only downside. I’m just going to marinate on it as I have plenty of time

If you get interrupted some now, or find yourself quitting sooner sometimes because of X reason related to your house being right there, making that short trip can help insulate your training so you stay focused or do more while there.

Home gyms are best for shorter sessions IME. It’s harder for me to do the long agonizing sessions because I come up with some reason why I need to get back inside when I get very tired.

I do tend to go to the gym when I am not very motivated to workout. Something about making the trip, it makes me not want to cut it short. Even though it takes less than 5 minutes to get to my gym it has an effect mentally that makes me want to stick it out. However I have no issues pounding out 2 hours at home when feeling motivated and having a good workout.

Same for me. Home gym is great when you are feeling very internally motivated, but going to a gym is much better when you just need to do the work. More often than not, I do not want to really do the work, so the gym helps most of the time.

Yeah, I also know if I am at the gym and feel like I am just done enough to leave that for some reason or another I was just not physically ready for the work because the drive and the environment is normally enough to get me going to where finishing is no problem and sometimes I even want to do a little more.

I was the same, especially when my home gym only had some basics, but now that I have most of what I need I find it easier to get motivated. I couldn’t imagine spending time with the dogs then making the drive - and the wife complaining that the dogs aren’t wanting to go back to sleep.

Now that I think about it, every prolonged break from the gym was initiated by a new puppy.

That darn puppy love!

Very valid. Didn’t think of that. Haven’t thought of that since I went to a gym lol. Solid argument tho.

I dunno I feel like it sometimes goes both ways, but 95% of the time alone in my garage with music jamming and moving iron is therapeutic.

Damnit man, with the new place I would have space to bring the pups. I’m starting a pros and cons tally sheet at this point 🤣

Monster mini band hip walks x 40

Seated light band hammy curls:
25x2 sets

Reverse hyper w/ SS:
+135x10,15
+180x10

Hanging leg raise SS:
15,15,10

GHR:
7,10,7,

Inverted rows vs green avg band (feet on bench, band at bench height):
10x3 sets

DB alternating front raise:
40’sX20x2 sets

45° chest supported DB Cuban press:
15’sX10x3 sets

Haven’t done inverted rows in forever. Never have done them against bands (typically throw plates on chest while lying on floor). This setup is killer. I will be applying these regularly and highly recommend giving them a try for a good fry.

Oh I bet those are beastly!

Man I never even thought about that; just bodyweight is hard for me - must be why they’re also called Fatman Rows!

I’m proud of you for conquering the GHR

Dude I’m telling ya, there’s something to these banded ones.

Haha thanks man, baby steps!

I beleive it. I do my inverted Rows so low my back almost touches the floor and they kick my ass, not a high rep activity for me. Maybe 3-4 sets in the 10-12 range. If I added the band I would definitely be dropping the reps!

No joke. Yeah I wanted 4-5 sets but was thoroughly smoked after 3 sets of 10. More practice :)

That’s a really cool idea….I like that better than adding plates on the chest, very innovative…simple, yet effective.

A bit jealous of your home gym setup. I've thought for years about building a shed just for a gym. I do lift "better" when I "go" to a gym, especially if it's the right place with that dungeon feel of bros doing bro things but all to often life and long commutes make it exceedingly difficult and it would be nice to be able to at least go pound out those working sets of the major compound even if I don't have enough mirrors to watch myself do bicep curls.

It is nice just being at my gym already, can’t deny that. Ease of getting in a session amidst the chaos of life is a plus. I fully support your shed gym

And you don't have to wait on a bench or squat rack

600 test/ 300 trest currently. But ya never know how it ends lol.

Horny steronz is right! She loves it just as much as you do 🤣
Thats a decent amount of trest! Did I read correctly earlier, you are using a trest deconate? Or were you referring to the decca...?

Yezzir, 600 test, 300 trest decanoate. Next blast is gonna be a trest bath. Wanted to check this source to see how it stacked up. So far so good!

They are bigger than my bis

Spent a few years with tin snips and sheet metal. Think that’s where the real grip and forearm growth began. Bastards were fully pumped Monday-Saturday lol

I don’t mind bucking some rivets here & there, but I never understood how guys could do that day in and out longterm.

sheet metal and snips = me bleeding all over the place. even if I was wearing leather gloves I'd just find SOME way to bleed all over the place. half the time I come in from doing yard work and find blood and I'm not even sure where it came from lol

Dude no joke. My hands were a bloody mess. Still carry some scars lol

Justified the purchase of a bench bar and bench shirt yesterday. Thanks state tax return lol, now gotta send some to the fed because I ask what I can do for my country.

Equipped bench has been dominating my mind training wise. I want to get to learning the movement. Hoping next week to spend a full session in the widowmaker just learning the groove. Unless someone talks sense in to me before then 🤣

I have this happen a lot ?????

I hear ya, standing seam and copper work was all I did and it paid well. My back would blow out hunched over a roof all day now lol and I’ve seen how those boys look after 30 years in the bizz

I'm still trying to figure out why I can walk into the gym and pick up 400 lbs every week with no issue but when I stack a couple loads of firewood at home my back wants to freeze up 😅😅

That’s the same mystery I deal with…. Tear it up in the gym, then go split some firewood to bring in and boom, something gets tweaked or pulled.
