So there was a recent thread by @rascal14 where we discussed how much protein we supplemented each day Invalid Link Removed and I got the idea that it might be interesting to see how we struture our foods as well.

So the question is straight forward, how much fruit and vegetables do you consume each day?

I eat a Big Salad M-F for lunch everyday with some type of protein and I might have some green veggie's with dinner ?

I’ve been really bad about this until the past year or so and I’m probably still not eating near enough.

I’ll have 1-2 pieces of fruit a day, banana or apple.

at dinner I typically have a normal sized salad and about 1.5 cups of a vegetable in addition to that, usually broccoli and cauliflower. Then once or twice a week I will have quinoa as the main dinner carb in addition to that, which I didn’t know was a fruit until now, if that tells you how bad my nutrition is lol

I don't weigh my fruits and vegetables but il use a measuring cup.

It varies depending on my diet but I try to include fruits and vegetables with every meal.

Typically every day il eat 1,banana and 3-4 clementines, il also most days have roughly 1lb of watermelon and some pineapple chunks. 1-2x week il also use a bag of frozen fruit to make protein ice cream

For vegetables il have broccoli, asparagus or green beans daily. Il eat green onions and spinach daily and il have things like peppers and carrots a few times a week.

Now that the garden is in bloom il be having cuecumbers, tomatoes, zucchini and squash all pretty much daily.

Il start weighing but I'm gonna guess 2-3lbs of fruit and vegetables daily

Just had some very sweet, very cold cantaloupe, it was so good!!

Quinoa is a vegetable? Pretty sure it's a seed and a grain

Yeah its "technically" a vegetable:

While quinoa is often prepared like a grain and considered by many to be in the grain food group, it's actually a member of the spinach, chard, and beet family. Quinoa is the seed of the Chenopodium plant, a green leafy plant that sprouts numerous flowers.

corn on pizza is real and good. some parts of the world its normal. just get some frozen pizza and put frozen corn on top
My son loves corn on his pizza, I myself want pineapple on mine!

I myself want pineapple on mine - We can no longer be friends !!

I’m surprised I have never heard of that, I googled it and it saw it was common in other places.

and I thought I was a pretty big pizza guy!

I'm Italian, I was bout to say you can't put no fukin corn on pizza, but I like pineapple on pizza and that's a no-no also so I gotta sit this one out ,😆🤣

Geez Louise...I thought my 85g spinach at breakfast, 100g cauliflower at lunch and 100g broccoli at dinner was doing good 😆

imo if you like pineapple on pizza you would probably like corn. it's a little sweet but not as much as pineapple. I like both

I have never heard of corn on pizza, but I would try it ???

Had some fresh corn on the cob and grilled zucchini last night, Yum !!

Fruits and vegetables both are good for your health. I eat 2-3 pieces of apple and banana a day, and at dinner I eat different vegetables. I also eat salad in the evening.

Daily:

Some fig or raspberries
30g dried cranberries
50-150g blueberries
30-50g strawberries

Alternating: banana, pear, or apple

1c Cabbage or brocoli
1c green beans or Brussel sprouts

Often:

Legumes
Salad
Never corn on pizza

I'm basically a toddler and hate veggies. So I just use a greens drink 2 x daily.

That's Funny
Haaa its true. Salad I don't mind (but nothing but lettuce and tons of meat and cheese haa) I also don't mind some nicely grilled asparagus with garlic etc. Other than that I drink them.

And you get a TON of veggies in a grr3ns drink, the one I use requires 11kg worth of fresh greens dehydrated into a powder per 100g of finished product. So figure avg serving is 10gm, thats 1kg of veggies. That's insane.

Granted you lose a lot of roughage and fiber but all the beneficial nutrients are there. And I get plenty of fiber elsewhere.

I think I need to up my intake now 😳 I’d eat strawberries and raspberry’s 5 times a day if I could but here in the uk it’s very expensive.

OP - you don't get gas from all those veggies? I actually love broccoli, asparagus, carrots, etc but I'd have some serious stomach discomfort if I ate that much veggies every day. I have at least 1 citrus fruit and 1 veggie every day but that's about it.

I have a shake every morning with:
1cup blueberries
1 cup mango, pear, strawberry mix
1 banana
1/2 cup dragon fruit
greens mixture

I generally always have a veggie for lunch and always 1-2 different vegetables for dinner.

My breakfast every day is baked oats with a bunch of fruit in it, lately it's been pumpkin as I'm on a pumpkin spice kick.

For lunch I'll usually have an apple and a banana alongside my protein source.

And for dinner I try to get a lot of vegetables in. Sometimes I'll blend a bunch of them into a pasta sauce (kale pesto is really good) but currently I'm having a chili full of peppers, tomatoes, beans, and sweet potatoes.

I eat more fruits than vegetables which I am not sure is a good thing or bad thing. I will then catch myself after eating a lot of fruits and say I have to seek out more vegetables. Like you, I just got more serious about it when I got older. A light bulb went off and said why don't I eat more foods that are naturally grown from the earth. It just happens those foods are so good for you. After you start eating them for a while you realize your body really likes them and adapts to them very well. Since you grow up with poor nutrition you really don't know the difference and are already programmed and addicted. Once you start reprogramming yourself to more natural nutrition. I have now become a nonGMO food addict. So fruits and vegetables I consume everyday but I will eat more fruits than vegetables for the most part. Which is high in natural sugar but the other nutrients I consume usually balances it out as I am not on a strict die of fruits daily, like I don't eat just fruits all day.

I'm just the opposite I eat a lot more Veggie's than fruit.

Can’t really tell about the vegetables but yeah I eat a bowl of fruit salad on alternate days. Come to think of it, the bowl does contain some veggies too.

Since being in the hospital I have been having fruit and veggies with every meal
