Unanswered Can anyone explain dental procedures?

Hii,
My child is 15 years old. Recently, she has been saying that she has tooth pain. I thought it might not be a serious issue, but the pain is increasing day by day. So we decided to consult a dentist. He told that this pain is due to tooth decay and even the nerve tissue inside the tooth is infected. My child is very much fond of chocolates and used to eat two at least daily. I think this had led to tooth decay. The doctor said that we should have Invalid Link Removeda little bit earlier, but we were too late to consult the doctor.
He told me that, tooth decay can be solved easily if we do the dental procedures at the initial stage. But now she needs to go through root canal treatment. I have heard that this root canal treatment includes many procedures. The doctor told me that the treatment needs to be done soon. But her exams are scheduled for next week. So I'm in a dilemma, whether to start the treatment soon or not. Does anyone here know about dental procedures? Please share your ideas.

Root canal is simple, they take the top off the tooth, scrape/grind out the nerves on the inside of the tooth, fill any cavities etc, and then they fill it with resin that hardens. If you don’t do it she could lose the tooth. Pretty much black and white

My dentist did my Root Canal in less than 4hrs. He does a hand file method and other than my face drooping for the rest of the night I was perfectly fine. No where near the pain of having my wisdom teeth out. The process is alot of easier than it used to be and I must say it didn't bother me during schoolwork in the least. The continuing pain from toothache will only get worse and I mean exponentially. Its an ache followed with headaches that honestly will blunt her studying anyway. Do it ASAP and have it covered. If the medication makes her too woosy just go to the school and ask for an extension.

Root Canal may lead to Crown down the road so be sure to address proper dental hygiene afterwards. My tooth actually cracked and I didn't notice how bad until it caused me discomfort. I shrugged that off and thats why I had to get a root canal. Only paid $130 with insurance as well. Didnt use painkillers and honestly was more than fine.
 
Listen to the dentist. The root canal is to eliminate the pain and save the good part of the tooth. They will likely put a crown over depending on the severity/size of the decay. As for the prevention, he is talking about going every 6 months for a cleaning. They will check for cavities and any damage at that point, allowing them to catch things much earlier to where it would be a small filling vs root canal or having to pull a tooth. As for the chocolate it is ok here and there - she just needs to brush and floss well. Your dentist may even recommend a special toothpaste that contains extra calcium/fluoride to help strengthen her teeth.
 
He may also recommend a electric toothbrush, and waterpik makes brushing for the mandatory amount of time, and flossing a whole lot better and easier.
 
I would recommend new parents, who don't feed their kids chocolate daily.

I've been through some rough situations with my teeth, and I'm here to share my experience. I've found several doctors from different countries on the Internet. Still, it wasn't easy to make a choice. Most of them could not fulfill all my requirements, and others even asked for money (I know it sounds strange, but it really happened). So, after reading several books and articles about dental implants, I decided to go to a well-known Invalid Link Removed with many positive reviews. I am very delighted with my choice.

The dentist should remove the nerve if the canal's infection is really severe. The tooth ceases to feel anything with nerve removal and eventually ""dies."" Most specialists have a negative attitude toward removing nerves, so they try to preserve them to the extent of their capabilities. However, I don't see anything terrible in getting rid of toothache this way. Depends on how much you trust your doctor. If my dentists from Invalid Link Removed gave me a similar rundown, I’d be inclined to see things their way. But if you don't trust him, try to contact other specialists. Good luck!
