Hyde’s Strength Odyssey

Just recently hopped on then daily astragalus and tudca wagon as per your post and digging around.

TUDCA is overrated, I prefer the liver damage, personally. I get uncomfortable when I can feel my liver healing. That’s why I drink so much. Gotta train that liver just like the rest of the body.

The liver is evil and must be destroyed! And then rehabbed, so I can destroy it again!

Very good! Probably qualifies as a hot rod cruise lol. Are you pinning test sub Q with more frequency or just splitting dose 2x per week? I noticed sust sub Q eod was my sweet spot for cruise in terms of sides.

Test or no test, road rage and rood rage are one in the same. Fuggin non drivers on the road everywhere!!!!!!

Shallow IM twice a week . Been putting my Saturday test in the shot with primo in a lat or vg (0.9ml total volume), and Wednesday’s test I throw in a delt head since it’s 0.3ml.

Just recently hopped on then daily astragalus and tudca wagon as per your post and digging around.

Just kinda makes sense for the blast/cruise lifestyle. Astragalus is very cheap, and one cap per day is more than enough for the TUDCA so it’s affordable relative to the general health benefits.

Can’t argue with that logic

Really enjoyed this one; beautiful day outside. I feel like I need to raise my base of fitness, so today’s focus was on getting a lot of light posterior work done in a timely fashion.

This your home gym? What’s your pec deck look like?

Out of curiosity, what is the difference between regular IM, shallow IM and subq when it comes to test shots? I understand subq may be more stable — same for shallow IM? Thanks!

Shallow IM means Hyde is 25% bf & has 26g 5/8” luer lock needles & 27g 1/2” slinpins, and however far it gets into the muscle is where it ends up without me worrying about it

Some guys make a fuss about putting oil deep, but with these smaller volumes and considering it’s still absorbed fine eventually subq it just doesn’t really matter. What matters is adjustments to the release rate, if you care. So a bigger total volume in certain locations with less bloodflow is going to release slower & more stably than somewhere higher blood flow and smaller shot. Pinning 0.1ml in the delt will release at a faster rate per mg of same drug than 1.0ml in the glute.

But the results for growth generally come from total drug exposure over longterm I believe, so unless I’m trying to time a preWO administration specifically of an acetate/propionate ester I don’t care. Long esters will still take time to cleave off, and no ester drugs won’t take much faster or longer to act.

So say a guy pinned Tren Ace first thing upon rising each day and then trained before work. In that scenario I would be sure to pin a smaller muscle since I want it releasing ASAP. Everything else, whether test e or TNE, it’s not going to make a difference. TNE if you put even 2cc deep in the glute, okay just take a little longer warmup with some glute bridges and it will be rolling before you know it.

How often do you de load or do you just go on feeling? Still a pretty strong workout!

Every third week I deload specifically my squat, bench, & deadlift work. Everything else generally stays full tilt, but I will skip stuff or back off more if I feel the need. So I am always still training to retain skill & capacity.

I was watching today the Jeff Nippard and Dr Mike Israetel interview on training volume & hypertrophy and listening to them talk de loads so I was just curious.

Israetel is a smart dude (and funny). His training would be focused on hypertrophy though so it wouldn’t really be comparable to this; my setup is basically a continual wave to keep my joints and nervous system from getting overworked.

RIP Louie Simmons. Quite a shock to hear this at the end of the session from my wife, but I suppose it’s fitting this entire training was exclusively his methodology. I probably owe my entire powerlifting obsession, and all I ever learned to get better & shared here, roundabout to his existence. The people who got me into powerlifting and influenced my early learning were all his students. It’s hard to put into words how much he’s indirectly affected my own life, and so many others.

Lou, you were the man. Thanks for everything.

Just started checking out your log. Your killing it big man. I really like the design of your routine. Very nice balance between powerlifting concepts and hypertrophy volume. I’m going to take some time and try to read through and catch up. I really appreciate a good log.

Bet you had a wicked lower pump after that one!
Do miss me some hack squat machines

I rested a lot working up on hacks, but I had taken a scoop of Vicious Labs’ Daft Pump preWO so both the back extensions and GHR had the hamstrings seriously inflated!

Welcome! I think this log goes back to ‘17 if you are interested.

I haven’t been doing any strongman since my bicep was reattached in ‘19. I have some powerlifting goals more important to me so that’s been the focus. Tried to compete in June of last year but my back went out close to comp so I had to rehab it last summer. Been building back up since.

Cruising 180 test, 120 primo weekly with 10mg GW0742 & 5 caps of turkesterone daily the last month, with my usual l-carnitine pinned 4x/wk & 10mg Pregnenolone sublingual 3-4x a week.

I’m sick with this yellow sinus gunk I’ve been working through. Heart rate was insane just on warmups, so I knew I wasn’t going to have the endurance for an appropriate training session. Between that exhaustion & feeling my pec some at 255 & up, I shut it down and just flushed a little blood to heal up.

Live to fight another day.

Yeah man, I hate trying to workout sick, especially if congested or have a fever. Sometimes shutting it down and taking a breather is the best thing you can do.
Hope you feel better soon.

Thank you. I figure I’m cruising, no contest imminent, and I like my pec attached to my chest, so it just seems like I need to go with the flow right now. It’s not time to push; it’s time to be healthy.

Training Smart, Good Move!

Amen to that brother. I’ve pushed myself too many times, when I was younger, and many times caused an injury or aggravated one, creating that one step forward two steps back scenario….not fun.

On the health note, got my blood draw yesterday morning for a CBC and Lipid Panel now that I’ve been on primo for 1 month. Results came this morning:

-Lipid Ratio down to a healthy 4.4
-HDL up from 28 to 35
-LDL down from 154 to 102
-Trigs down from 114 to 73

-Hematocrit down from 50.1 to 50.0
-Hemoglobin down from 17.4 to 17.2
-Platelets up from 309 to 322
-RBC up from 5.80 to 5.85

-WBC up significantly at 7.5, but obviously due to fighting the current sinus infection so it’s tough what can be credited to primo.

So metabolically my health has obviously improved, and I intend to continue trying to lower my LDL for now. As far as blood viscosity goes, I’m certainly no risk, and Hematocrit and Hemoglobin trended down, but I may need to donate blood eventually before I blast again with 3 of those 4 parameters just at the top of healthy ranges & RBC only going up (platelets are fine).

Great stuff on the bloodwork! Good stuff on the training smart. I am trying to follow more of this as well. I am tired of these injuries playing peakaboo and know that ony training smarter not harder is going to get me through it. The difference now is I am still getting out there on every scheduled day to do something and if it doesn't go well I call it if i need to. Helping with my consistency which has become obvious it is what is needed over weight on the bar for me to regain anything. Getting a bit of that from all of you who get in there and try no matter what unless just sick as a dog.

Yeah movement is still very important. That set with 285 helped retain some strength this week without a big risk, and the 3x20 after helped flush my pec to heal a bit faster. Plus the bird dogs and warmup set me up to move better/be more mobile the rest of the day, which keeps me out of back pain & capable of being a decent father.

the only two injury fears that ever get into my head when I'm leaning out are torn peck or torn bicep from deads. I've never experienced either but seen enough of it to just have it stuck in my head... always a good idea to be smart, live to fight another day. it's a marathon, right?

Man that’s some impressive weight, especially with a knee and ankle acting up. What do you think your squat max is when healthy?

February 10th I was testing lifts while finishing a blast to help rebuild some strength after back rehab this summer, and I took 550lbs in sleeves fairly easily. Felt like at least another 20lbs in the tank. But it’s not about when I’m most healthy as much as when drugs are highest lol.

My best ever is 617lbs in sleeves at competition in 2020, but I was a bit heavier.

Goal of the top sets of these workouts is to have about 3 reps left in the tank.

That is definitely some strong squats. I hear ya on the feeling healthy part. After so many years always seems to be something aching or hurting, that’s why BPC 157 and TB 500 are my friends.😎

Scott Smith gave us some awesome free instruction on how he does the Tate Press and it was a serious game changer; totally wrecked my triceps in the best way.

Whenever I can get Scott to talk, I listen. I will go out of my way to stop my training if I see him for it because it’s like panning for gold. Dude had serious bench records in multiple weight classes while still putting up elite totals in full power.
