Hi,

Recently I took a 120 foods intolerance Food Igc Antibody blood test,

To my much shock the elevated food levels where mostly around dairy. The below where the highest elevated foods!

This basically means Im screwed to take protein shakes, whey and even veg-pea based, Eggs are also on the list :( so what alternatives one has?

1 - Milk - Cow/Sheep/Goat
2 - Egg White
3 - Pea
4 - Brazil Nuts

On this list they’re all **** source of protein that are far from optimal except white eggs/eggs. Do like everybody else and go for meat and fish.

Seeing how protein shakes are absolutely not necessary for anyone and there just a convince I don't see how your screwed. Chicken, beef, pork, seafood.

Problem solved.

If you buy beef protein powder make sure it's really from beef and not from beef beef collagen and crap like that. You can also by protein powders made from wheat, soy, even bugs. You can use one of those and add some eaa's to it to make it complete.

Finally is the dairy products because of lactose?

Lactose free dairy products usually have more protein and less fat than their lactose counterparts

I'm pretty sure beef protein isolate is just collagen. there might be one that isn't, but I haven't found it yet

I know milk protein is usually considered mostly caseien protein, but whey is in there too. I have a hard time calling whey protein trash, but I'm open to info

Oh well to me milk protein I considered he meant protein coming from milk. So I meant milk isn’t the healthiest source of protein. I consume iso protein in my pre workout meal with oats or cream of wheat every day and post workout having a shake with my carbs! I think it’s a great tool I thought he meant milk sorry

I do take a shake post workout with my cereals if off season or oats / rice cake if in prep, but if I couldn’t my coach probably would have me eat chicken with my oats or rice cake, exactly the same result at the end of the day.

Markus Ruhl, Derek Poundstone, & Blaine Sumner are 3 incredible champions from 3 different sports that all show chicken breast or tuna shakes are absolutely NOT going to hold you back.

Exactly. Hey I was operated directly in the mouth 8 months ago and they told me I couldn’t eat for 3 and a half week. No pressure to be applied before that. I wasn’t super deep off season at that time but still eating around 4600 calories of clean food. I blended my meals including chicken, rice , red meat, sweet potatoes , oats , eggs or whatever was on my plan and drank it. There’s always a way to make it work 🤷‍♂️

Most ppl are use to having a shake post workout, I use to always. Occasionally I still do if I'm in a rush. But now I prefer to have a solid pre-workout meal, some eaas and a carb source enter workout and then just have another meal post workout like an hour later. I definitely don't think there's any drawback to not having the shake. These days the majority of the time I use protein powder is to make healthier desserts or add protein powder to my oats to boost up the protein content. But replacing shakes with real food is definitely not going to hurt you, it will probably help

dried meats did come to mind, but finding good ones that aren't super expensive can be a pain in the ass. might consider learning to make your own or find a local butcher who makes them.

Jerky is super easy to make, all you need is a little dehydrator, they start around $25 but for about $125 you can get a nice extra large one

I got a question for op,

It sounds like you've been regularly eating all these things for years, and it also sounds like you've been regularly taking in a post-workout shake. What are the health concerns that made you get a food intolerance test, and these foods you found out that you're slightly intolerant to or even maybe majorly intolerant to who knows, but what effects were they having on you what problems were they causing?

My reason for asking all this is if you've already been taking in a post-workout whey protein shake for the last say 5 years or whatever,

Do you really think that if you eliminated all the the foods deemed intolerant but kept a post-workout protein shake four or five times a week your going to have massive problems?

Unless I was crapping my brains out every time I drink a protein shake I would still continue to have my protein shake post-workout if I felt like it

I don't understand the All or nothing approach with food, just because some stuff came up on a food test doesn't mean you can never have it again.

For me, I’ve found whey/milk and to a lesser degree, egg white, protein bloats me pretty significantly. It no longer digests well; I have to use a product with added digestive enzymes and I keep the whey isolate to a scoop postWO. But I also take 10g each of collagen peptides and EAAs intra, & another 10g peptides & 25g beef isolate (comparable amino profile to gelatin) with that scoop of whey postWO. This has been excellent for recovery since I switched to this.

Everyone worries how collagen and gelatin are inferior protein ratios with insufficient EAAs…but they are the ONLY proteins you aren’t getting significantly from your diet! If you are eating enough protein & cals from food sources, the muscles recover fine - it’s your connective tissue that might not be getting the building blocks you need.

Vigorous Steve did a video on this recently and it solidified my initial opinions on this. If you are eating whole proteins and add some EAAs to complete the protein profiles in your amino acid pools, the collagen becomes much more usable AND provides the necessary raws for joint repairs.

A newer lifter may not care about this as much, and just want a whey shake to supplement food, but a longtime vet is going to have the discipline to eat enough food and will also need to worry about preventing injury.
