My family is just beginning to weight train (wife is 37, son is 9, daughter is 8). I've got them doing a 30-10-30 program once per week. 8 exercises, one set of each exercise, targets most of the major muscle groups. Rest of the week is spent resting. Only been at it for 3 weeks with them so far, but I figure it's a great intro for the kids and my wife has been looking to start working out again with something that fits our busy schedule.
