JIiigz - You seem very hung up on home ownership. Are you homeless?

If you do have a house, where did you get the funds for the massive down-payment needed, you have detailed above?
Here in NY at least you only need 3% down for a government backed mortgage. I put 20% down on mine to avoid extra insurance and got a regular mortgage but I can say there are alot of young people around here that waste money paying rent and then wasting alot of money on other stupid crap such as cable TV (I have it but can afford it now) and not willing to go through the extra effort to get it done.

My banker (a millennial) and his wife ate peanut butter jelly sandwiches for dinner and live a bare bones life, with time he was able to afford the house he wanted...now he drives 80k$$$ cars.

They characterized millennial as being up to age 40 lol.

I'm not surprised people up to age 40 are trying to buy homes, but a percentage tells you nothing without contextual numbers to back it up.

If 1 millennial in 100 buys a house vs 1 boomer in 1000, the numbers would still say millennials are buying all the houses vs boomers, but it's only 1% of total millennials.

That data ignores the 99 millenials who can't afford to buy because it's only capturing data of those who HAVE bought.
Did you know here in the USA you have to pay for kids to go to school even if you dont have kids just for owning a house or even just property? Even elderly have to pay for children to go to school, thousands every year even if their own kids are all grown up an they helped put them through college, and if you dont the government will kick you out of your house and thrown your furniture on the street....even if your 120 years old.

If your young and have to pay your own college, you still have to pay for other people to go to college....how the f' is that fair? Dont young people need to pay their own debt?

Socialism is a humanitarian crime, gives the government the power to destroy.

I pay a shitload of property tax. Approximately 7,000 per year. Last I checked, 70-80% went to the school system which used to be one of the highest ranked in the country. That’s why I am so brilliant :ROFLMAO:

My fiancé and myself chose to not have kids, and we firmly believe that bringing a child into this world we live in today is irresponsible and cruel…sorry. I would definitely love to not support our local school system that doesn’t even resemble what a school system is intended to be… thanks to the China virus. Much of it is online anyway, so let’s lower the taxes already!

I seriously can’t even believe this.

So Pfizer boosters are currently being offered to me for the next two weeks only. For now..

The biggest problem I have with this are there are a great deal of other vaccines and more specific boosters in development as we speak. So why get a booster that is more or less outdated and also, why are the other ones still in development if we opt to get this one? Why are we holding off on the boosters that could have a more significant impact for those of us that choose to receive vaccination. I realize they are not yet FDA approved, but that hasn’t mattered much regardless in the eyes of the public.

Basically I am just saying I would rather get vaccinated again with something that is more up to date with the current situation. Or maybe just get nothing! I’m just not sure what will be mandated in our future. I’m thinking I will possibly pass on this booster and see what we are exactly facing in the not so distant future.

We chose not to have kids either, wtf I need to pay $4,500 a year in school tax alone just because other people want to pop babies all over the place? And then those people who have them get additional tax credits?

And now they are pushing pre-k, community college and nursing care out of my pocket?

And people wonder why I vote Libertarian.

I dont buy it, behind closed doors most Republicans have no problem with it. Not talking all...and not talking the voters but just about most of them are all supportive of the same system in one way or variation or another and are different people behind closed doors.

I look at who set the "new standard" in the first place. It was Dump and the Republicrat party (backed by most Demicans) who started signing off on multi- trillion dollar socialist and waste spending bills. They basically just handed off the torch and continuing mostly the same process with different taste buds.

Thats just my honest assessment and why I would never jump on the Republicrat side, they completely devalued the dollar to where we are just starting to see the consequences of inflation today (and of course Groper is continuing the process) and desensitized the general public as a whole the value of the dollar and negative effects of irresponsibly paying for everything by printing money out of thin air.

If you want to look at it that way, this bill is really scary, nobody even knows what the F' is in it or how its going to get paid for. Its absolutely psychotic I 100% agreed. Im pizzed off as hell.

My bet is that this is going to be far more disastrous that Roosevelt's Great New Deal. At least Roosevelt had a way of paying things.

I dont exactly agree with the 2nd part of Republicrats standing in the way, a bunch are of course, but not totally really even relevant, they arent needed anyways in the position we are in....moving away from my previous statements and claims, from the area of the skin we can see the one standing in the way is a Demican by the name of Manuchin.

Manchin is only opposing the extra 3.5 trillion. He is perfectly fine if it was only spending an extra 1.5 trillion. So yeah, F him too.

Let's see who REALLY opposes any/all of the extra purely social spending spree...

I 100% agree, it seems like they are trying to label him as a "moderate" by setting the standard so high and scary that 1.5 trillion seems pretty ok,

Our country has really lost its mind, our Republic will fall, its not a matter of if but when, and that when is coming sooner and sooner.

lol...if republicans weren't united against the bill what Manchin does would be irrelevant...much as it pains you-give credit where credit is due...if georgia would have voted republican we wouldn't be in this predicament.

i do give manchin credit though-i wondered why a red state like w,virgina would vote to re-elect a democrat-i thought he would be like other dems and go with the liberals on everything-Manchin is the man [at least so far].

the 1.5T is WAY better than the 3.5T...manchin is holding tough, imo.

this is a crazy world we live in...it has become necessary to choose between the lesser of 2 evils...imo, attempting to hold out for what i know is right has become a act of futility---it seems half the country [democrats] are just fine with a socialist, authoritarian government.

i agree 100% but we both know that isn't going to happen...just like i don't always agree with republicans but they represent my views much better than democrats who i disagree with on almost everything--especially the 3.5 spending bill.

in my honest opinion we will be fortunate if the 1.5 gets passed and the 3.5 doesn't...biden and democrats are campaigning really hard for the 3.5---they will put tremendous pressure on manchin-just like biden is putting tremendous pressure to get vaccines.

Its all out of my control thats for sure. I know I did my part to get the word out (not just here) to get people to stop voting for both Demincan and Republicrat parties.

Now my eye is to help my party get control of this country by building our way up to getting 10 Senate Seats hopefully over the next 10 years. If we get 10 Senate seats the power is all on our hands as we will be in full control of the swing vote. If we dont, well I have no choice but to sink with the ship because neither of the other 2 parties are going to do anything to restore it.

just got back from grocery store--ouch!!!

thankfully i hunt and fish, and know a good butcher---good time to buy a cow, or pig.
I’m about to go to the grocery store, and I am not looking forward to it. 🤨

So I just got an email that every additional shift RT’s pick up will be an additional $350 on top of regular pay and overtime. Nursing is getting $500 per extra shift. While I know we deserve this and more, the healthcare system is simply going to implode.

It’s karma for not paying us hazard pay from the beginning of COVID.

Which comes back to the base pay raise I received a few months ago which was $2/hr. They acted like it was a big friggin deal on their behalf. It means nothing and was an insult given the current state of the economy/inflation. It would have been a respectable raise 2 or 3 years ago…

The car crisis is another thing. So happy my lease was up a year ago when we still had cars available. I can’t imagine trying to get into a new or used car these days. I have seen new vehicles being priced at anywhere from 5,000 to 15,000 above MSRP termed as a market adjustment. Simply ridiculous!

I think the plan is to make owning your own vehicle a luxury item, while making more people rely on public transit.

here is the truth---what percentage of 25 year olds own home?

at age 25 the millennial, generation x, and boomer homeownership rate were ALL ROUGHLY 30 percent.

this blows your theory all to hell...thanks for playing :)
You read this fact on a random website called apartmentlist.com, didn't you?

That's not exactly credible now is it?

BTW I read that 99% of Republicans are Nazis on the internet as well.

Seeing as we take any websites word for it, I'll consider that 100% true.

"
Why are younger Americans less likely to own their home?
The generational differences in homeownership can be explained by the fact that younger generations typically don’t have sufficient savings for down payments yet, whereas older people have worked for longer and have more savings. Student debt is a major obstacle to buying a home for Gen Zers and Millennials, because they often don’t have money to spare for long-term savings after they have made their student debt payments. According to a 2019 analysis, the existence of student debt prolonged the down payment savings process by several years."

And more analysis for you:

However, in recent years this has shown signs of changing. Statistics have shown that Millennials, often defined as adults born between 1980 and 1999, are not buying homes as frequently as their parents or grandparents. In fact, an increasing number of Millennials have given up on homeownership in recent years

And more here:
And so on and so on.

You also need to remember that a house in bumfukville might be worth 10,000 whereas an average house in a major hub is 800,000. If 100% of millenials in bumfukville can afford a house, but only 1% in California, then that skews the percentage to 50% of all Millennials can afford a house.

How you can be so out of touch is incredible. The housing market is going tits up globally, and yet you are very firm in your belief that YOU had it tougher. You had it relatively easy because you didn't have 100k student debt to pay off at a $15 per hour job then somehow find money to pay your $2000 a month rent while trying to save for a house that keeps increasing in value.

give it up--take your ball and go home, lol....if a person runs up college debt just to get a $15 a hour job then they are too stupid for me to worry about...i told you my wife and i saved for years and we were almost 40 before we bought our 1st house AND I EVEN HAD THE GI BILL....and as far as having it tough, my generation had a draft-and if you were poor your ass was going to nam

if more people from my generation were able to buy a house it was due to the GI bill--look it up..MONTGOMERY GI BILL, also known as 'old gI bill' the cut off was jan2, 78.

not everyone was born with a silver spoon in their mouth---RICH BOY.

there is a desperation for truck drivers because obama said those jobs would be gone by now--i know guys driving trucks who are making over 80K...look at the wages of welders, electricians, plumbers---WAY OVER $15 a hour and trade schools actually pay you while working towards a license.

next time you go to get car worked on ask the mechanic if he makes more than $15 a hour, lol.

i know several nurses who work at local hospital who got diplomas thru midwest technical institute and ivy tech-which are trade schools--much cheaper than going to a regular college-and most healthcare facilities hire student nurses, so you can work while earning degree.

so if you racked up expensive college debt just to make $15 a hour sorry bout you!!!

Hell yeah! Football has always been incredibly boring for me. Ironically, my GF just put the game on as the Patriots (I suppose our home team) are playing the Buccaneers. She hates football every bit as much as I do, but she loves the fact that Tom Brady is no longer the New England golden boy.

Nonetheless, just hearing all the bullsh*t in the background is killing my mood. Which isn’t all that wonderful to begin with
