What do you guys think about Statins?

I’m still scared of Cardarine…
I remember reading the study that showed a higher incidence of cancer had them using it for 100 plus weeks straight and used mice which had a genetic predisposition to getting cancer. I couldn't find it now but remember reading it at the time and wondering what else they expected if using mice that 50% get cancer anyway. However there concerns of brain cell damage due to increase interleukin and other things so its really difficult to say how safe it is

Careful with that "Leo" guy. Anyone can make YT videos. It's kinda scary he has so many guys online now talking about whether a statin is right for them. I can't help but think that's a conversation you want to have with a real MD.

Leo offers a mix of good and bad advice with his channel. Eventually people will see through him I hope.

All I'll say is that I wish there were these kind of discussions occurring on social media 5 years ago when I was first starting into AAS. I guess I don't see guys like Leo, or Steve, or Derek as reckless Rx-pushers at all, but safety/health advocates. And if that's a stretch, well I think its great that they're making people aware of options beyond the typical bro ancilliaries and such. But like any advice or recommendations made on this board, ultimately it's up to the individual to make any decisions and do their own due diligence.

You make it sound like he has some malicious agenda or intent, that he needs to be "seen through"...?

I know what you mean, but pre-clinical trials always involve megadosing as part of establishing safety data. It's required.

You can see why, every day on these boards (and it's not unique to here, it's human nature). In the supplement section, and in the anabolics section, people double dosing, triple dosing, and whatever-the-fuk dosing. Lol.

Look at MENT or trestolone for example. The human clinical studies dosed that stuff in the micrograms. MICRO grams. But bodybuilders dose it in the tens-to-hundreds of MILI grams.

Thank god for the rats.

I agree, don’t trust his corny ass face at all, it was just a interesting discussion I wanted to bring here to see what others without a agenda had to say about it.

I don’t think he has a malicious agenda/intent but he definitely say and push things to get likes, he wants to get paid after all and I get it.

I agree, not malicious (intentionally at least) but clearly a bottom feeder of the industry.

I still consider myself fresh to this scene and I could tell right away what he was. I'm sure industry leaders/vets just LOL at him most of the time.

Steve and Derek on the other hand seem more intelligent, but I still take what they say with a grain of salt. Anyone on here could make a YT channel and come off like you know what you are talking about.

I agree discussion is good.

Oh yh i get why they use large doses, and its sensible to study long term effects, what threw me was them using mice that had a genetic predisposition to getting cancer, I'm sure it was like half of them get cancer without any intervention, but I'm no scientist so there probably a valid reason to use them I'm unaware of

Ahh, OK. I'm more wary when those guys start talking benefits of particular supplements and go on to mention specific brands, Leo claims he doesn't get kickbacks but I just don't believe him lol. And some of his interviewees regarding the "bad coach" series are questionable. The basic message is good, but these anonymous clients talking sh1t about specific coaches...

I think he actually shares a lot of interesting info.

The problem is he’s also doing it as entertainment for money, so you literally have to sift the useful leads on things from meaningless fluff, sensationalism & posturing.

I feel confident in my own ability to do this, but I do worry just based on the Youtube comments section how many folks just hear whatever and believe it.

I feel the same way about Tony Huge. Very entertaining, always learn a teeny tidbit of gold or interesting info, the other 80% is straight poppycock/bropinion that will greatly mislead someone without more context or background knowledge.

Yeah I dislike that a lot, especially him not even going through any of the claims prior or trying to read other stuff from the coaches to form an opinion on them before hearing a horror story. All about the views, but nothing to back up the mudslinging.

I think it was good he had Alex Kikel on to at least let folks see him and make their own opinions, and I still don’t get why he hates Broderick Chavez - if you don’t want to use someone because you don’t like their personality or drug use style, don’t do it, but he’s exactly not hurting anyone with his moderate usage stances or swindling folks out of money.

Lol the witchuntering and fickleness in the comment sections is incredible, but kinda not surprising. Before Kikel appeared, on another video viewers were bashing the fuk out of him, he's a tosser, pseudo intellectual, sh1t coach, etc etc. Then the video where kikel is a guest, viewers are like oh he's a nice dude, really like his style, etc...fuking lol

What do you guys think about PCSK9 medicine?

The teeny bit I’ve been exposed to seems exciting, but I haven’t done any reading that would let me give an educated opinion.

Lol I noticed that. Kikel has some great tips, tricks, and practical working knowledge of enhancement. I get he won’t be for everyone, and his podcast is going to go over some folks’ heads inevitably or bore them to death, but the amount of practical health and performance facts I’ve learned from him is worth it’s weight in gold. I mean stuff I was able to actively apply with myself or my wife and see obvious payout in better bloodwork or performance.

That’s what I got from it also and like you I haven’t done enough reading about it but from my understanding it’s healthier than statins and is the same/if not better at lowering bad cholesterol.
