Donald Trump running for president

i don't know how anyone could function in todays society without some form of id?

i mean how do they cash their welfare checks? even if it's direct deposit the bank is going to require id!!!

how about driving?

how about applying for food stamps?
Im not disagreeing, I’m just saying that the best thing to do is pass such a law a good bit of time away from major elections so it isn’t perceived as an attempt to stop some people from voting last minute, and to minimize the people it does stop from voting. What is the harm in passing it right after a major election as opposed to right before one? Sort of a “ if you don’t have any ID and you want to vote, be warned that next election you will need one. You have plenty of time, so plan ahead” situation. Best way to do it as justly as possible I’d say.

How about when they spend their stimulus checks on cigarettes and booze?
there you go---how they gonna be cashin them stimulus checks with no ID?

then they try and say it's racist to require a ID to vote....racist my ass!!! that is the most fucking retardedest thing retarded fucking excuse democrats have ever come up with, in my honest fucking opinion-this truly pisses me the **** off!!!

i think voting laws vary from state to state and democrats won't pass it in blue states...the excuse is it is racist?

If you want a laugh, do an internet search for "ethnomathematics oregon" and you can learn how the Oregon Department of Education is encouraging middle school teachers to register for "ethnomathematics" training.

The ODE argues, among other things, that White supremacy manifests itself in the focus on finding the right answer. This training is designed to "dismantle racism in mathematics", and includes a list of ways "white supremacy culture" allegedly "infiltrates math classrooms." Those include "the focus is on getting the 'right' answer," students being "required to 'show their work,'" and other alleged manifestations.

Yes, perhaps one of THE most objective and non-controversial subject possible, mathematics, is allegedly racist.

And all of the quotes above and below are all ODE's quotes, not mine. This is not some sarcastic SNL skit.

"The concept of mathematics being purely objective is unequivocally false, and teaching it is even much less so,"(***) the document for the "Equitable Math" toolkit reads. "Upholding the idea that there are always right and wrong answers perpetuate objectivity as well as fear of open conflict." The "Dismantling Racism" workbook identifies "objectivity" -- described as "the belief that there is such a thing as being objective or ‘neutral'" -- as a characteristic of White supremacy. Instead of focusing on one right answer, the toolkit encourages teachers to "come up with at least two answers that might solve this problem."

(***) I have read this quote several times, and I still have no idea what it is supposed to mean.

Seriously.

Are any of you familiar with the scene from Orwell's "1984" in which Winston ponders if 2 + 2 really sums to 5? "In the end the Party would announce that two and two made five, and you would have to believe it. It was inevitable that they should make that claim sooner or later: the logic of their position demanded it. Not merely the validity of experience, but the very existence of external reality was tacitly denied by their philosophy."

Again, I am agreeing with you. It’s a logical law. You need a license to fish lol. I’m just saying that as long as it’s not done really close to an election, claims of racism are not valid IMO, as if you give enough time, even very poor people who had no ID will have sufficient time to get one and still be able to vote. Some people will still cry racism, but it will be nonsense at that point. You follow my drift?

all i know is here in indiana a ID is required to vote...it is the blue states that don't require ID's, imagine that.....do you have any speculation on why red states like indiana require a ID but blue states don't?

what we need is across the board voting laws!!!!

I have never been able to go to a bank, liquor store, DMV, etc without showing identification and in most of the places, a drivers license is required. And I look like the most upstanding, clean cut, white boy you could picture- albeit, an Eastern European one, but still. If I can't do anything without one, how does anyone else?

Soon we will have to show proof of a vaccine to do a lot of those things

My dad, when he was around 60 years old, white, bald, with a grey beard, wanted to buy one can of spray paint at Walmart, he needed to show ID. Not because he looked young, but because it's policy, and if the worker didn't do it, he could have gotten in trouble, as they supposedly bring in undercover compliance checkers from time to time.

It's already happening. In some areas, my consultants can't go into any of the accounts without proof of negative test results within 72 hours or 2nd vaccine. I have no problem with it, but it is difficult to do things.

As this is day 22 of covid for me, I don't wish this **** on anyone.

Not being sarcastic, but who doesn’t have an ID these days? You have to have an ID to get welfare, cash a check, withdraw money from a bank, donate blood at the Red Cross, get your veterans discount at Lowe’s Home Improvement even if you have your My Lowe’s card electrically on your cell phone, plus several other things. So why is it unreasonable to have to provide an ID nationwide to vote? That makes zero sense to me.

Again, I am not disagreeing with you guys. Requiring SOME form of ID to vote is not at all unreasonable. I am just saying that it would be wiser to pass such a law well in advance of any major elections as not to make it seem like it's an attempt to keep some people from voting. Even if it already should be a law, for the sake of giving people as little ammunition to cry racism as possible, passing it well in advance of a major election seems like the smart thing to do, right? And guess what, now is right after a major election, so plenty of time for people to get an ID for the next major election(s). So now is a good time. If Biden did this, it could actually go a good way to helping show he is committed to fair elections in the eyes of many people on the right, right?

Excuse me, but I will NOT be holding my breath for Biden to do this. There is no way he will.
Yeah, you're probably right about that. We agree he should though? It would do a lot to silence critics of election security, and especially people who think there's intentional shenanigans or fraud going on.

They give free ID cards to illegal immigrants in NYC so they can collect their free socialist shyt from working class people. So getting free stolen shyt requires ID, voting is racist if you must present ID.

Their way of silencing is that when election fraud works to their advantage they just label skeptics tin foil terrorists and silence you via censorship on silicon valley platforms.

They could care less about critics.

Wtf.

Blatant misuse of the word racism weakens its actual definition and impact.

Preventing Black people from being buried in a white cemetery is racist.

Wanting someone to show their workings in math is not racism.

each individual state passes election laws....it would require a act of congress to pass a law requiring all states to have a ID for voting requirement.

since the democrats are the ones against showing ID to vote and they control both houses it aint gonna happen.

time for you to get busy and show us the many hundreds of thousands of white cemeteries that don't allow blacks to be buried.

In America preventing white people from being buried in a black cemetery is social justice and equality.

To the extent (if any) this is the case, I am with you. The same for any other exclusion or condition based on race, etc. (excluding certain gender-based sports, the intent of which is to equitably allow competitors to compete with others having similar physical attributes). But exclusions based on race, religious, etc. - I am not currently aware of any, at least not in my life (although I do not dispute that they may exist, my statement is only that I do not know of any first hand). When I was a young kid, I was aware of sperate schools in Oklahoma - where I would go to see my Grandparents. But other than that, fortunately, I've never had exposure to this type of thing in my own life and, if I had, I would have been intolerant of it. On the other hand, I am also aware of certain international "games", such as the Maccabiah Games, that are historically based (I believe) Jewish and Israeli multi-sport events. I take no exception whatsoever to those games, even thought I cannot qualify, because I accept and appreciate cultural and religious history, and therefore I welcome those cultural events. The intent is to maintain something of their heritage, not exclude me because mine differs - and I am 100% OK with that.

Almost as racist as assuming black people are too stupid to get an ID? Or that black are all impoverished?
yes, i have to assume that this is what democrats are assuming? why else would democrats say it is racist to need a ID to vote?

I think you missed the point lol

I am a C Level who oversees a large team of corporate Attorneys and Contract Negotiation Specialists, and am the sole signatory for my Corporation and each business unit. I am also responsible for policy development, implementation and compliance. I have dealt in IP, FAR, regulatory, and legislative matters for 35 years and have negotiated with many, many Government entities and presented in professional forums and negotiated with a lot of fortune 100 companies. I have also been extensively involved in mergers and acquisitions. Although I am fairly crappy at a bunch of things, I know what those things are - and I have seen to it that they are not part of my core responsibilities. Regardless, I do not lack confidence in things with which I have experience. I have a lot of familiarity in the issues I described above (otherwise I wouldn't have said anything). I learned long ago that opinions are like a$$holes, everyone has them, but you usually do not need to make that apparent. Clearly, I couldn't do my job unless I am surrounded and supported by very competent and capable (and really good) people, who I am very loyal to.

Did I get the job (kidding)?

Edit - BTW I usually do not talk about stuff like this because doing so trends to make me sound like I am a pretentious and hierarchical jerk. I am not pretentious or hierarchical. The other part is open to interpretation.

P.S. - I realize that not everyone may be familiar with the projections afforded under Section 230 - so I pulled this directly from Wikipedia: Section 230, as passed, has two primary parts both listed under §230(c) as the "Invalid Link Removed" portion of the law. Section 230(c)(1), as identified above, defines that an information service provider shall not be treated as a "publisher or speaker" of information from another provider. Section 230(c)(2) provides immunity from Invalid Link Removed for information service providers that remove or restrict content from their services they deem "obscene, lewd, lascivious, filthy, excessively violent, harassing, or otherwise objectionable, whether or not such material is constitutionally protected", as long as they act "in good faith" in this action.

By almost every standard, social media platforms that edit/restrict content are, indeed, publishers and should not be subject to or benefit from this immunity. Selectively applying restrictions fails the essence of the standard of barganing in good faith and fairly.

Can I get a job, Beau?! Lol, kidding not kidding. 🤪

It's a very long time, I've had a couple of mental breakdowns during this which has been the roughest. Supplement wise: zinc, NAC, nattokinase, Vit D, B, K, and lots of OTC pain meds. The only OTC that actually worked was Alka Seltzer Severe Cold and Aleve for the joint pain.

I am in the mending stage now, just dealing with the lingering fatigue and loss of appetite. The worst part is looking in the mirror where there was a muscle filled 215lb man a month ago and now 195lb man that is starting to look like a teenager. Need this damn fatigue to go away so I can start lifting again!

i didn't miss the point, i took it literally that you were saying there are lots of white cemeteries that don't allow blacks to be buried there...i merely asked you for examples--there should be a whole lot of them-eh?

Invalid Link Removed
higher gas prices=higher consumer prices....biden signed executive order that did away with not letting immigrants into country until after hearing---i think it's called catch and release---i read that many were let into the country without even being tested for covid---i read that they have now started testing but not sure if they are holding them until test results come back negative...i would be willing to bet that those you are sick are being treated at American tax payer expense.

just think the damage that could be done if a thousand were let in with covid since they are being spread out throughout the country....yup, biden really knows how to stop the spread of covid-eh libbies?

Get better my friend. I just got home from a funeral service today, covid, for one of my clients and was a friend of my grandfathers also. Very sad, a healthy 65 year old male. Just really sad.

I overdosed on theraflu when I had it. It was the only thing I could feel a noticeable difference with. Ended losing only 8 lbs though.

That’s a great looking supplement list. You def fall into that “long hauler” sub population. I’m sorry you have had such a rough go and glad to hear you’re on the mend.

I just ordered a bunch of hydroxychloroquine, ivermectin, azithromycin, just in case someone I know has a rough go. Too much data on these meds to not have some on hand.

I wonder if adding some cellular energy supplements would help with fatigue. Coq10, l-carnitine, NAD+ come to mind.

87 octane up to 2.65 a gallon today, has been 2.15 a gallon the last 3 years

I got gas for $3.89 yesterday. Tank was a quarter full and still cost me close to $50.

The average price of gas in So Cal has increased approximately 6.8% since Biden was inaugurated.

As a point of reference today's Costco prices are $2.91/Regular and $3.03/Premium. Add about $0.50/gallon at almost any other station (i.e., increasing to approximately $3.41/Regular and $3.53/Premium).

Thank you, appreciate it. I will say that for how hard it kicked me down, and I am a healthy fit person, I can only imagine how it can devastate a good portion of our population- which lets face it, aren't the faces of good health. Sorry to hear about the loss for your grandfather- seems many of us will know someone that passes because of it.

Right now I am relying on rhodiola, ALCAR, and on days I need to sustain throughout for work and normal chores/errands- adding in 75mg of armodafinil.

gas is up 30 cents a gallon here since the great healer/unifier took office.

just heard that rush limbaugh has died....i started listening to rush back when clinton was pres. i haven't listened to him for awhile but prayers go out to his family and loved ones--RIP rush.

Thoughts on Texas' power grid? I'm reading that their desire to have their own grid has sort of screwed them over on this one. I even heard one small-scale Texas official say that it's not the government's job to provide electricity for the people, and they should figure it out for themselves. That's just nuts, and not even close to true. The narrative being pushed now is that the wind turbines froze and that's what's the cause of the problems, but wind turbines in other states and other countries operate properly in MUCH colder temperatures for longer periods of time, so if they didn't properly winterize their turbines because they thought it was unlikely to get that cold, well, failing to plan is planning to fail. Their insistence on separating themselves from a larger interstate power grid seems to be biting them in the a** right now. Perhaps a bit of a test-run for how overall secession would workout (good when things are good, but horrible when anything goes wrong).

If I was in your shoes (maybe your doing this already) I’d start lifting light even if it’s just the bar or 20% max for some high reps to help your body stay at least on some active shape and that you don’t hurt yourself when your good health again. Even if it’s a measly 30 minute session. A lot can be done.

Yeah, regardless of if we see eye-to-eye with a person's political views, we can all acknowledge that the death of a loved one is really hard for their friends and family, and the world we live in is already a stressful one as it is.

On a related note, I do hope that people continue to realize that smoking is not good for you. I know a lot of young people are vaping, but what was once a harm-reduction alternative to cigarettes seems to now be something young people who never smoked cigarettes are doing now. Less dangerous than cigarettes in no way means without any level of risk or harm, and I think some people are missing that distinction. Rush's comments as recently as 2015that smokers aren't any more at risk than people who eat carrots was just really irresponsible. And also saying that second-hand smoke has no meaningful negative impacts on health. Things like that are just really not cool to say.
