Time frame to reduce SHBG & feel normal again?

Have you figured out why your SHBG is so high?

Is it just a genetic thing?

Ok I see. Everything else looks great. Good work bro.

When you "7 day abstinence" are you speaking about abstinence from alcohol?

I never realized abstaining from sex increased testosterone so much...

Hmmm

Their was that study which showed a spike at the end of seven days. Invalid Link Removed

Interesting. Not worth it to me though; just for a higher test result

well it is actually no ejaculation. kegel long enough in life to have control over flow and it is possible to have sex without explosion.

You can find a study that proves anything Is right. There's studies that show higher test after sex, there's studies that show eggs are bad, theres studies for anything and everything that contradict each other back and forth. Long story short, studies mean shyt

lol...just stay on trt long enough and no need to kegel-there will be no explosion...trust me.

TRT prevents ejaculation? never heard that before

Ohhh lol. Gotcha.

Suggest Gimaps test for further evaluation of gut microbiome as preventative measures

Yes with zonulin and reflex
This is gold standard I use with all practitioners I train and consult
If you have a friend who is chiro or medical professional it’s $208 for “family”
I am also running Thyrve and microbiome labs stools for comparison to see if it provide clinical data. I wrote a huge post on Facebook a lot this and correlation. I going to be working with a few phd’ and md on redlight therapy and it effect on different pathways and parameters. We just uncovered EXCITING new data. I am on the research and development team of the newest companies with redlight owned by a friend. Jack kruse also endorses the machines as he bought 6 machines of them lol. Next few years I plan to be on a beach working at a center for chronic illness, anti-aging, autism. Currently we will be looking at locations out side US in next 6 months...

I am in Miami. I am interested in trying this option. My Dr. is very open to new tests and procedures. I would rather my insurance cover this.

I should say I feel wonderful, much energy both physical and mental and more than decent strength for age and body type. How much of an improvement would I see if shbg is reduced?

All has to do with shutting off the sympathetic nervous system.

It’s more of an awareness so that you do not get bite in the A$$ later on. High shbg is a red herring for this to come. You May feel fine as you may be running on dopamine as I see this commonly.

Can not shut down the nervous system when it’s unregulated by hidden pathogens. Just had case of this a few months ago. Severe anxiety nonreaponsive to medication due to source as idiopathic. I found his gut was loaded with parasites in the gut from a decade ago from heavy sushi intake. Worked with doctor by suggesting Alina with saccharomyces B. 2 weeks neurological symptoms decreased by 60%. Another 2-3 months will be peeling him off of psych meds. Testosterone was crap, but was not going to deal with it now as he is young and it will levels out as he body returns to normal. He had shbg of 65

Due to gene expression you may not be converting methylb12 to adeno b12. Look at your MCV if it’s 90 or greater then you need to use the proper b12. I see this all the time with doctors who do not have a freaken clue about genetic expression and what they mean. Too much b12 can lower potassium. American should be getting 4.7 grams which 90% or more are not even coming close to. Then factors in caffeine that depleted it draining adrenals glands further. I found licorice root liquid can pull me out of suicidal ideation in matter of hours. Once you understand the biochemical pathways and gene expression you can manipulate body in ways never imagined. You know your body the best

Annual fasting blood draw.
Labwork by Quest
Total testosterone 1320 on a scale of 250-1100 ng/dl
Free test 109.6 on a scale of 35-155 pg/ml
SHBG 103 on a scale of 22-77 nmol/L
DHT 71 on a scale of 12-65 ng/dl
AST 25 on a scale of 10-35 U/L
ALT 45 on a scale of 9-46 U/L
Glucose 103 on a scale of 65-99 mg/dl
LDL Cholestrol 156 on a reference range of less than 100
Remainder all within reference range

Mixed feelings about this.
Have been working seven consecutive days per week for months with sloppy eating habits and no nightly cardio, no weekend cardio bootcamp. Only lifting heavy in the mornings. Gained about 5lbs of extra fat. Feel very strong. Look very bulked. These are nice and would rather be overall healthy.

So looking at ditching extra work, back to more cardio, cleanup food. If some strength and mass is lost so be it.
Started yesterday, ditched morning eggs+ meat breakfast for quinoa and green apple. Same today. etc.etc
Retest in 6 months.

as i've gotten older i've increased cardio by a large margin and overall health has become my primary goal...when i was younger to be as big and as strong as possible was my goal.

What do you feel is optimal time and intensity as we age?

I do think there are people that overdo cardio and it’s counter productive to have elevated stress hormones for 1 hour+. I actually think it ages people to extent. Like when you see the old person “jogging” and they look like death and are going so slow that all they’re doing is adding more stress to their joints when they could be walking and happy lol

Are you on TRT? And if so, what is your protocol? Sorry if you already addressed this earlier in this thread..

Damn....those are extremely high test results

Had my annual physical results and using same scale my total test was 729. 250-1100 range.
Usually 950-1000 or more test result.
Blood draw at 1:46pm instead of the usual 830am. I was not fasted and had eaten breakfast. All the previous ones were fasted.
I admit to doing much less training the previous decade plus since late 2024 physical. Results then showed typical high T as you see here. I have put on belly fat, now 34w instead of 32w, and lost muscle mass. I suppose related?
Dr. said to get back on my old regime and test again in April.

I should add feel terrible, no energy, depressed, etc. A sloth. Had life changing episode a year ago. Depressed since

Have you ever figured it out why shbg has been so high? I’m in the same boat- no liver/thyroid issues. I have normal total T but free T is single digit.

Are you prediabetic or diabetic? Fasted glucose on the 2023 paperwork is pretty high. I know it's in range but is that a fluke or are you always around 100 fasted? Prediabetic can make you tired, unmotivated and lower free testosterone

No.
I finally got my act together and have been training hard as before. Mental outlook better. Energy and obviously build. Disregard my recent posts. I was depressed. Back on the right track.
