We have to appropriately scale for Police force size. US has about 700,000 cops. (65/700,000)*100= 0.009% of total police.

We have approximately 10,000 sworn police staff and have had 1 killed this year, which is (1/10,000)*100 = 0.01%.

And we gave him full honours and mourned him as a country as we should.

The real question is, how many people have been unjustifiably killed by our police?

But it's not equivalent, you know that. Even losing 1 was devastating for us. Again, you keep applying a false dichotomy. I can be sad for losing a police officer just as much as I can for someone who lost their life unjustifiably at the hands of police or someone else.

Being sad at someone shot unjustifiably by police doesnt make me anti police, it makes me human. Even police mourn when they take a life, even if it is justified. That's the way it should be.

Im watched totally way apart from both conventions, but the RNC threw the most energetic and optimistic convention I can remember.

Last week I was almost feeling dark and depressed after the DNC, I feel a little better now, lol

That's weird, when it comes to covid deaths you guys are quick to point out how small NZs population is and how big yours is. All of a sudden 1 person = 1 person. In that case, I'd feel disgusted if 181,000 people were dead from a disease if it was in NZ instead.

Those numbers arent really telling. You nor your police forces have to live in the same high crime, drugged, gangbanging and violent culture that we have to live through and that our police have to work with.

I'm all for justifiable shootings if it is deemed necessary. Again, it's more than a hunch that is required.

If all these shootings were justified, you wouldnt have these cops being fired and charged with gross negligence or murder.

No, not all the cops have been fired because of gross negligence or murder, there are those that were fired simply because of politics.

And hardly any of these have anything to do with race, which is the leading accusation that is causing this protests so I cant get on the same page with the mainstream supporter.

You do realize we have cities with far more density than the entire population of your country packed less sq-miles???

Also, the most populated city in the USA is the doors of the globe, and from there people go everywhere else, along with the other side in Cali with their Airports. There hasn’t been near as many unjustifiable homicides by law enforcement than law enforcement has been murdered.

Don’t even compare NZ to the US. You all have lost 34 officers in the history of the country. We lose than in a few months.
