so I has been on dat der TRT for 6 yrs. It truly does make life better for me. admittedly I never in a 1000 yrs would have guessed 2020 would be what its been. I finally pulled the plug a couple months ago on my TRT for several reasons but mostly financial. I wanted to discuss some of the things I'm witnessing after all these yrs of being on. feel free to tell me about likewise musings or experiences. so with no further ado..

things i am noticing (this will be updated):

waited about 3.5 weeks to start PCT in those first weeks i actually felt fine.

began 20/10/10/10 protocol of nolva. almost an immediate wet noodle effect. no cialis no woodro.

3rd week. no sex drive. no woods. no fucks given! mind is a little cloudy... depression is getting a little better now that I have been working a little again.

i will switch to clomid 25 EOD on week 5 and stay there until i feel like the gyms are going to open and i will be stable enough to afford gear again.

over fat now but with the depression lifting I have been eating better and leaning out a bit.

Did you use any hcg prior to serms?

I am not on trt but still need hcg to have a successfull recovery. I tried without hcg and felt like death.

Depending on how long you have been on, you will have to adjust the dosage and length of time on hcg,

Also, no need to torture yourself. Run some hcg alongside a low dose of test (up to 100mg a week at most) before you come off completely.

I have been on test for 8 months last year. What i did is added hcg at 1000 iu per week to my 100mg test a week for the last 6-8 weeks. Then continued hcg only for 10 more days, waited few days and started clomid.

^^ i find this protocol amazingly effective

If its just a short cycle up to 6 weeks, then some hcg perhaps for like a week or 10 days post cycle.

I didnt even feel the transition, hcg makes me feel pretty darn good.

From my experience, trying to kickstart the testes with serms is a recipe for a complete failure. I need hcg for that 1st.

i didnt mention it but yes. hcg the last two months before i came off. to be clear i was using a cruise of test about 80mgs per week on the last 2 months as well. almost negligible imo. literally not much at all.

The serms work by blocking estro from binding to the pituitary and then create a lh/fsh release which acts on the testes. If it’s been 6 years I wouldn’t expect the pituitary to restart right away with serms. Hcg is extremely close molecularly to LH and thus would act on the testes independent from the pituitary. Big thing with HCG is that is causes intrateaticular aromization in an environment that AIs can’t work in so it can raise estro. Some people say it can desensitize leydig cells with long term use and quit working but I don’t think that has been definitively proven.

I think you guys are missing the point. i am not asking how to pct. Just wanted to share my thoughts on it as its so crystal clr, after all this time of not doing one.
also, i am not looking for anything to restart in any hurry. I am sorry if i conveyed that. I am almost 50 and have used a clomid restart several times with great success in the past.. but that takes time. I am aware of the timeframe and am ok with it. remember guys... when i started this sh!7, people didn't know what a pct was. hell a lot of the guys from that time period did lots of cycles with NO pct.

Not medical advice but...I think the larger scale studies of people coming off of HRT more or less support that even in the absence of a specific restart protocol (that of course doesn’t take into account things like nandro, trest, etc)

From reading hrt forums extensively including ones of well respected trt clinics the protocols for restart seem relatively similar to yours. Based on the amount of time you were on I would suspect it will take a time frame of weeks to months for the pituitary and leydig cells to wake up.

Thanks for sharing bro. To be honest I’m planning to get on prescription trt next year and would like to think I wouldn’t come off but it’s interesting to hear what your are experiencing.

just from what I’ve heard and read I’d be expecting a year plus for natural levels to get back to whatever you had when you started (not sure if you where low when you started?)

I know plenty of people who have came off trt using hcg and serms and never fully recover. I'd personally stay on. Not worth the depression and low sex drive feeling

sorry bro, I know you’ve said your decision is mainly financial and I’m not gonna start suggesting that test is ‘cheap’ as that’s a relative term but isn’t there an option to get on prescription trt through insurance (genuine question as I don’t understand the American healthcare system fully - in the UK we don’t have to have insurance but they really don’t like prescribing something like trt as obviously the Government carry the cost).

I guess I’m just wondering why your putting yourself through coming off to go back on in 3 months?

the other part of the equation was the lock down. my wife an I both have become quite depressed. for me it happened early on as the gym is such an important part of who i am. I have a nice bench and sweet power locks. but its not the same for me. I just love the bright lights, whirlin fans, the pre game, the pre supps... the whole fucking thing i could have without the gym and yet... without the gym, none of it made sense.
when they keep shutting us down its hard to justify supps and peds when i cant even get to the gym. let alone try and guess where or when my next paycheck might be coming. as far as the whole insurance thing.. well would be an even longer story but i will leave it at: I started a business last yr. and we are hangin on by a thread. I cant quite get over that first couple of yrs hurdle with the current climate which has left folks like me in between a rock and a hard spot. i dont have insurance and i dont qualify for unemployment.

ah ****, I’m sorry to hear that bro. Like I say I never comment on what’s affordable for people as to be honest in my business we deal with hardship grants etc and I’ve seen the situation that good people end up in when the system and/or luck screws them.

Dan ‘the bodybuilder in Thailand’ (that’s actually what he calls himself rather than me being descriptive) says he will sometimes come off everything completely For 2-3 months to let his body reset and doesn’t seem to suffer from doing so (doesn’t make sense to me based on what I know but I’m also far from knowledgeable) so it’s not like this isn’t done elsewhere.

on the business side I hope things sort themselves out brother. All we can do is keep fighting the good fight - the more you come through the sweeter the success will be when you achieve it

Tough situation. Depression is one of the main factors keeping me on TRT. I get extremely depressed without it. Quality of life factors in too. Anger and anxiety like to join the party.

How much are those PCT meds vs the testosterone you were using (rhetorical)? Hcg and Clomid have skyrocketed in general lately from my latest bill. It's much cheaper for me to stay on TRT.

Emeric Delczeg uses 10mg EOD and maintains mid 600s on blood work. That's pretty cost efficient. Just some thoughts.

I was on test cyp for 5 years. Last year I decided to try getting off because I was getting too paranoid with constant bloodwork etc. Doc halved the test dosage for a month and begun clomid at the same time. Been on clomid for a year now getting off clomid. It was rough but now my test is at 454. I would like to do a 3 month cycle but with gyms being inaccessible i think i will wait. Nothing beats being in TRT as far as the way i felt.

i like how i can stay much leaner with exogenous test. even when i get mid 500's from clomid, it doesnt feel as good or help me stay lean. anyone notice this also?

After one month of test .25 per week, I stopped the Test and kept the Clomid for 1 year. Then I started cutting down on Clomid after 6 8 months, taking 25mg every other day. This is my second week completely off. Not feeling great but given the circumstances with everything happening I am ok. I have not really been training either since COVID hit. Either way, there is a big difference in the way I feel from when I was on TRT. Nothing beats that.

Of course you don't, you had alpha teen numbers. You should get a blood test in a month and if still around 450 ask if you are happy with that. Lots of dudes thrive on 500

Exactly, my experience too.

Thats because you have consistent good levels with exogenous test...it doesnt drop to borderline low throughout the day / evening like natty test.

Also, exogenous test seems to end up a bit less bound up by shbg then endogenous test, so more free T with exogenous test.

I was on 50ml per week and my T levels were always around 550 600. What I didn't like about being on T was thinking of sex and being horny a lot of the time. The clomod raised my triglycerides like crazy , what I am hoping to do is to cycle and then do clomid to restart, but I was getting the T from my insurance and unless the doctor prescribes it through the ins I won't be doing it because it would be too expensive.

certainly i can attribute the gym shut downs to my shoulder having this time to heal. it by no means is all better...... I do feel like the better rest and higher estrogen levels have helped grandly. sleep continues to improve. also my prostate is working better. another thing you dont notice on trt is the slow changes in piss performance.
