Did a little midnight workout in my garage. Man, I’ve gotta get my ass in gear. My whole Body has slacked on resistance training since all this covid st1t started, but my core has taken the worst from just sitting so much. My abs get a burn doin push-ups.
Ask me to go run 13 miles, and I can do it, no problem. Ask me to do 13 unassisted sit ups, and I’d be in trouble. Wtf.
people think cardio is hard. Na, that’s easy. It’s lifting that really burns calories.
I’m in the best cardiovascular Shape of my life, but I’m also the fattest I’ve ever been since I stopped lifting seriously.
it's the combination...i can't imagine doing just one without the other.

i like to drop and do situps immediately after my run.

Alright! Nothing really new to report. Wife has been holding out as she’s mad at me for exercising. 🤷‍♂️
Saturday, went for a swim. Swam 2600 yards.
This morning went for a short bike ride. Almost 25 miles.
I feel like my estrogen is dropping too low, so I’m going to reduce it to 2 pumps per day.

planning on starting a resistance training routine back up tomorrow. We’ll see. I got kids... well, that’s just an excuse for my laziness. 🤦‍♂️

Yea, it’s really just a bs excuse for me being lazy. I’ve yet to start a new routine being out of work due to gym closures again since June.

I’ll get back on it eventually.

Hit up some heat training yesterday with a nice trail run outside. It was hot, not even going to lie. 115 outside.

2.35 miles in 115 degree weather. I'd say that's a cardio workout if i've ever heard one :)

Not even half that. It’s just lack of consistency. I’m starting to get back on a routine though. I’ve only rested Monday since last Friday. So just gotta keep up doing something everyday. I’d really like to drop 15 pounds and race at 165.
ill be able to finish the Ironman.
The training will just determine how much suffering there will be. 😆😆😆😮

Once you get more consistent I’m sure you will see the difference.

Yup. Tomorrow is a swim so I think today I’ll do a bike/run.
It’ll be tough as it’s going to be 116-117 when I go.

You have to get up at 5 am to not get the extreme heat! :)

The only way to describe how it feels outside when it’s 117 and higher is to turn on your oven, once it’s fully heated, open the door and stick your face in.
that’s exactly how it feels stepping out of the 78 degree house into a sunny 117 degree day.
Literally. No exaggeration.
Wanna feel what the wind is like on that day.
With your face in front of the oven, turn the blow dryer on and point it at your face. 😎

that’s the biggest difference in the humidity and dry heat.

Agreed. It's probably through roof for the summer months.
Yea, not only does it jump, but the electric company actually charges more during the summer months too, their reason they claim is to get you to use less energy......not a money grab....🙄
Usually the bill goes from $80-$100 a month to
$200-250 a month

It's nuts! I'm from phx/Glendale originally and moved to San Diego in 2004 - if I run my AC here for 4 days in a month, my bill jumps about $40 per day..my normal bill is around $120-150 per month (ridiculous considering I live in a condo and don't really use any appliances/etc during peak hours. But, if I run that AC for a few days...my bill is $300+. That's more than my parents in phx, running the AC in their 2700sf house everyday in 110 degree heat.

This is why I use balance billing. Charges same amount every month.

The nice thing about Rocket's Cave being in the basement (Totally Underground) it stays about 70 with no heating or cooling, all it needs is a dehumidifier !!
That's nice! i bet in the fall/winter it's about perfect in the basement in terms of temp. I need a gym basement these days!
