Donald Trump running for president

People are mad about the Epstein scandal.

If scandals sparked up protests everytime, we'd live in perpetual chaos. Not just with Epstein, but pharmaceutical companies jacking prices, lobbyists controlling legislation, media being controlled by lobbyists and government, the powerful and rich getting away and with murder etc etc etc

Individually, those things seethe and simmer until people just cannot take anymore. With BLM, people LIVE that everyday. The opportunity for a ember to create a firestorm is much greater than isolated scandal.

BLM is slowly becoming it's own worse enemy...people were sympathetic at 1st but now they run the risk of being looked upon as responsible for lawlessness...the vast majority see police as vital to their community and the country as a whole.

the democrats pandering to BLM and it's calls for defunding the police is helping trump, imo.

I personally couldn't even back an All Lives Matter group if Blue Lives weren't a part of All Lives.

Videos showing the 'true colours' of both sides makes it hard to fully support either. Videos of the police using force against that Navy protester just highlight that there are issues with some policing, and equally videos of rioters and looters highlight there are issues with some protesters.

People need to work together to create change. This "us vs. Them" mentality isnt productive

He was attacked by Federal agents though, not police.

the majority of this country feels the police are vital, at the same time most don't feel that rioting and looting are vital.

biden and democrats are shooting themselves in the foot by appearing to support lawlessness.

Defunding the police doesnt mean abolishing them. It means evaluating whether things like this are necessary:

These is our AOS vehicles, for example:

no, i think you need to re-evaluate what they are calling defunding....

this is the USA the most heavily armed citizenry in the world [well maybe 2nd after afghanistan]...what is necessary here is not what is necessary in NZ.

Thousands of children are abducted every year, and there are pedophile rings....these families live this everyday...this is bigger than some "scandal."

The point is more people are "prostesting" against systemic racism which doesn't even exist anymore. The U.S. is probably the least racist country in the world.

This bear cat vehicle would be necesssry against a suspect armed with an assault rifle...trust me..

I think it's 100% reasonable to ask the police to give up something like this to have more social workers respond to non violent situations.

It depends on who you talk to, there are plenty of groups that just want to completely abolish police and just put the funds into communist ideology in minority communities.

Get out there and start the revolution, brother!

Agreed. Different needs. But when you compare police funding to mental health funding or restorative funding, the others fail in comparison.

The US has 4% of the entire world's population, yet it has 22% of the world's prison population.

Lol I dont think you're the metric for whether racism exists anymore.

Maybe ask the people impacted by racism whether or not it exists.

it's kind of ironic for blacks to be complaining about racism when few of them seems to raise their hand about racist comments about jews--made by blacks. i give jabbar credit, he did speak out against this. the nba also seems to go mute when confronted about human rights in china.

Except it isnt. Maybe against a small unit of armed people. But not a single armed person.

We deal with those here in NZ and we dont feel compelled to run in with an APC

We also have alot of crazy unconstitutional laws, the focus should be on big government politicians, not the police.

I bet if you actually can obtain official records of prisoners in China and other countries that 22% number would dramatically decrease. We are very transparent with our prison population.

'A little better than China' shouldn't be the standard, though.

I would think its alot better, who knows how many millions are in concentration camps.

They reduce their population rather quickly though through organ harvesting. Many of them have their organs on the market, its a billion dollar industry. There is no place on the planet you can access organs faster than China.

Ok. My point is if China is so awful saying we're better than them ( a little or a lot) is not very compelling.

If you're relying on 1 country to dilute the numbers in US prisons, you're missing the point.

Some people have lost the right to walk free, but some people are doing hard time for things like possession

How do you know what race I am?

Are you in law enforcement?

a whole bunch of people want to come here though....just saying.

Yes because they live in the 2nd and 3rd world usually. I just don't think saying we're better than China or Columbia or Iran etc is the appropriate bar to set for the USA.

Maybe I'm the biggest patriot ITT?

No one is doing hard time for possession anymore lol...

Seriously, though. The "far left" in the US is the moderate left in the rest of the 1st world.
What is your opinion of A.O.C and her ideas?

Also I'll just clarify - it is absolutely a problem. But what your implying is: "theres so much bad stuff going on in the world, why protest just one thing?" That misses the point.

If people keep moving the goalposts by saying "ok, you care about BLM but not paedophiles?!?!?" Then what's the point in protesting anything? People will protest child sex rings next, and people will still say "what about human rights abuses in China?" So then people will protest that, and the same people will say, "so all of a sudden BLM doesnt even matter?!?!?!"

How do you know what race I am?
What race are you? I'm white. I'm certainly not the metric for whether racism exists, but even I can see it.

Of course, thats why Im voting for Jo Jorgensen and other Libertarians who want to pardon those in for victimless crimes. However, most of these people being the loudest and complaining the most that are being pushed in the media are going to continue to vote for little to no change and vote in more big authoritarian government.

Is this fair to you?

A $31 pot sale got her a stunning 12-year prison sentence.

why do 2nd and 3rd world countries pick here instead of europe then?
