I could totally see a corrupt Judge/politician/police force/etc. drumming up fake charges, or exaggerating charges, to get the death penalty if that's the only way for them to get a steady of supply of live people to conduct otherwise illegal experiments on. Definitely a dangerous precedent to set.

I don't know if I'd say that's ironic. Defending yourself or others means stopping an active threat. By being anti-death-penalty, you're not saying we should let the criminals go free if we don't kill them, so they're in no position to harm others either way, whether they're killed or jailed for life.

And it's only because we've been tricked into a false sense of duality that we see the two party system as inevitable and inescapable. Winner-takes-all states in the Presidential election don't help either, as you can have 1 less vote than the Republicans in a Red State, and 1 less vote than the Democrats in a Blue State, and end up with zero votes, even if you have WAY more votes than either party between the two. And I'm not talking a Trump 2016 difference; you can have significantly, massively more votes and end up with zero votes in this hypothetical scenario.

I remember reading it in the CDC guidlines, you can just assume someone has covid and its marked down as covid. Not sure what extend this is still being done but I do wish it was more readily separated.
