A lot of people who protested something that over 99.9% of Americans survived.

Very cool! I think I saw Air Force One on the runway one time in I think it was Boca, and I think I also saw the motorcade either in Boca or Palm Beach.

Shove that pill up your a**, you have zero idea what you’re talking about. Pretty much ever. Yeah, let’s take advice on a pandemic from someone who cant do basic math.
Please keep it civil bud.

Yeah, it is misleading. You use the entire population of the country/world as the denominator. That's bad math. It assumes that literally every single person in the country/world already had the virus. You can't say the survival rate is 99.96% when most people haven't gotten it.

That's like saying the survival rate for 9/11 was 99.999%. Or that the odds of surviving a given car crash is 99.82%, because only ~606,000 out of 328,200,000 Americans die of it each year. You have to use people who had it as the denominator, not the entire population.

If you don't get that concept, and you call me a lost, little man, then man, you must have an amazing view from that glass house of yours.

Except reporting more cases than there actually are would DECREASE the death rate. In your meme example, if the death rate was actually 1% given 448 cases, but that 448 became 4416 due to misreporting, then the death rate goes from 1% down to 0.1%, which means you think the government is telling us the virus is LESS deadly than it actually is.

Your logic is all over the place, and self-contradictory...

Dude, I’m a registered republican. I didn’t vote for Obama or Hillary. I love that everyone who disagrees with you is a hardcore liberal.

And I’m voting for JoJo (the libertarian) BTW. ;)

I only read the first sentence in this reply then decided to reply. Typed out what I was gonna say then realized it was essentially the same thing as what your last sentence was lol. It’s unbelievable you can’t tell someone theyre saying unsupported, crazy shît without having them come back at you about their assumptions on your political leanings. Its insane.

judge halts execution of wesley purkey because he has dementia.

purkey has a history of mental illness, i think the scotus might rule in his favor versus the ruling to execute daniel lee.

Maybe I just think that Biden and Trump both would make bad Presidents and I want to vote for someone I actually support? If everyone voted that way, third parties would have a chance, it’s only this self-imposed duality they perpetuates the two party system.

And YOU asked if I’m voting for Biden, as if my criticizing you means I’m a liberal. I’m a registered republican who leans libertarian, so nice try bub.

Pentobarbital is what we use to euthanize animals. Just thought that was interesting.

Had to euthanize a dog yesterday, a beautiful neo-mastiff that it's owner had neglected to take to a vet for years.

You'd think so.

The saddest part is that those less likely to be impacted are those enacting these types of legislation. It impacts those who need to work for their own and their families sake, so they get stuck with needing to work, but their employers not being liable for if they get sick.

That's crazy.

yes, that was the reason for daniel lee's original injunction. last minute he wanted to be executed by firing squad, but scotus sided with doj and allowed lethal injection...

i think in purkeys case scotus might side with him due to advanced dementia---but like i said local news station says execution is now scheduled for 7pm rather than original 4pm---never seen scotus act this quickly?

When dealing with a sick minded person like that, I wouldnt be surprised if all he really wanted was more of a show and to make people clean his bits up afterwards. A single dose of a drug to cause respiratory cessation & a quick death with very little mess involved or a bullet that may or may not immediately kill you and cause tissue to blow out the other side. I can see why the justice system chooses the former...

also, the way unemployment works here is if you refuse work you can't collect unemployment. plus the crappy insurance alot of employees have won't even cover all the medical bills let alone the deductable.

witnesses said he didn't know when drugs went in and his breathing became shallow then it was over.

i am against capital punishment but his death was much more humane than what he did to the family he killed.

Yeah, it would be very quick I imagine. I've read some of the back stories to these executions and it really does send a shiver down your spine to think what people are capable of doing to each other.

all of the 4 scheduled executions involve deaths of children. these guys are true scumbags, but i have committed to opposing capital punishment---in large part due to your compelling arguments against it.

The only thing I can add is if nothing was done for what appears to be a highly contagious virus that millions and millions of more people would have had it. Its pretty obvious. What does that mean? Well thats another topic.

In NY all you have to do is say you arent working because of Covid, and thats all you need to over-ride all the other stuff. That includes the additional $600 Pandemic on top of State unemployment.

Huge respect for that.

I struggle sometimes with justifying my stance on it. I still am against it, but I'll admit it can be incredibly difficult.

The thing I remind myself is that I'm wishing humanity on someone who didn't show humanity to someone else. But mostly my mind focuses on the small percent who might actually be innocent of the crime.

I have to go against the grain. Not only am I for the death penalty, I think it should be equal to or less humane then the murder they committed. Perhaps let the family of the victim choose the punishment. Their only way out of death would be experimentation.

it's ironic that i am against capital punishment but would not hesitate to defend my own live or my family and loved ones, or even a stranger who was in harms way.
