You can find examples of every kind of bigotry. They all exist, for sure but again, if you believe in empirical evidence, white supremacy is the most prevalent form of bigotry in this country.
show me the empirical evidence on number of white supremists? i bet farrakhan's followers outnumber that number...from what i have seen there are not really that many white supremists whereas farrakhan had a million man march?

I dunno the biggest form of bigotry I see these days isn’t due to skin color, but simply political ideology....and most hardcore from the left this current day.
Ok, a bit of a dodge but again, I'd ask to see empirical evidence in case your personal lived experience is the exception rather than the trend.

being born poor definately puts one at a disadvantage. but it doesn't mean you can't escape poverty, it is just like beating a addiction, imo. very difficult and few succeed.
Unless you have a disability the majority of poverty is a mentality or being in a bad economic situation that holds you down which we don’t live in Iraq so for the most part that’s not a problem.

So instead of questioning the ethics of the metaphorical addicts doesn't it make sense to invest in the equivalents to drug prevention and rehab?
what do you think the success rate is for rehab? i went thru the process, i agree giving a week in rehab to get over the physical addiction, but AA and NA are free and available to anyone who wants to get clean.

Yeah, I think a lot of people are in a bad economic situation that's holding them down.

Saying we're not as bad as insert 3rd world country here is also a dodge.

If you need empirical evidence to see that the far left started the cultural revolution then I give up lol

It’s not a dodge at all, you view things are leaning all racially when I judge society towards individualities.

We've broken the metaphor at this point but ok. This why there should be equivalents to AA and NA to help get people out of poverty.

Drug rehab doesn’t work until one starts to take personal responsibility for their faults and gets up their arse and makes a tireless effort to get help.

That’s what YouTube is for....there is so much free information out there of high quality it’s incredible. There has never been a better time in history to self succeed in America.

The rest is all up to the person to take action.

we need to start kicking kids who are disrupters to schools for disrupters so kids who are at school to learn can learn.

Go to a public library...or invest in yourself take out a loan and go to trade school....or home schooling. You don’t need broadband internet to succeed.

You are right but if poor people always wait for people to help them and solve their problems rather than making an effort to work around and overcoming their personal shortcomings they will never step ahead and always stay poor. Give them broadband and complainers will find another excuse.

Life isn’t and never will be fair, but we really have it good here in the USA.

LOL because people in abject poverty can get a loan? Homeschooling typically requires broadband nowadays.

Yes absolutely, I was dead as broke and poor with a horrible credit rating and put myself into college at the age of 22. I graduated and did better in college than the rest of my entire school career. There is no reason you cant get a college loan and go to school.

Why?
Bad credit or what's often worse, no credit history. A lot of the poorest can't even get a checking account.

My understanding is if you want to go to school take out a student loan. I was broke, in debt and had bad credit and I had no problems taking out a student loan and putting my butt into school and even getting some financial aid and small grants.

I would need to know a lot more details about your situation when you applied for your student loan in order to elucidate some of that. However, my guess is that your credit score while bad was not the worst. Did you have a co-signer?

Kinda like bank accounts, if you overdraft lose your account because you didnt pay the bank back you cant use "poverty" as an excuse to open a bank account. You do what I did when I was a financial screw up, you go through the system and find out everything you did wrong and set up a short and long term plan to pay it back..... then open a bank account. If they always let me open a bank account because of some rights that I was "poor," I would never need to get a job because I can always take out free money from a bank.

I fit the Federal Criteria for student loans...there is nothing about having good credit score or credit history. You cant show a history of fuqing up Federal loans though, if so thats on them and I dont blame a denial. Its really not hard though, being poor isnt a legitimate excuse. I worked part time 20 hours and used loan money to help with rent/food so I can focus on school work.

Criteria For Federal Student Loans
If you’re looking to get a federal student loan here’s the criteria:

  • Have a valid Social Security number.
  • Men must be registered with the selective service. Male students between 18-25 have to register with the selective service to receive loans.
  • Be a citizen or eligible noncitizen. Undocumented immigrants are not eligible to receive federal or state funding. Permanent residents with green cards can apply for aid. Immigrants with T-1, battered-immigrant-qualified alien, or refugee status may also be eligible.
  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent, such as a GED or certificate from a homeschooling program.
  • Enroll in an eligible school. Students at unaccredited schools might not qualify for federal aid. Some schools also choose not to receive federal aid.
  • Fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Any high schooler interested in financial aid needs to fill out the FAFSA, a form that asks for your family’s financial information to determine how much you qualify for. Even those with little to no demonstrated need can be eligible for student loans, so officers encourage everyone to apply. Without the FAFSA, you won’t receive any federal loans, scholarships or grants.
  • Be in good standing with federal financial aid. Students can’t be in default on other federal loans or owe money on a federal grant.
  • Maintain a 2.0 GPA. Students need to maintain a 2.0 cumulative GPA or risk losing financial aid until their grades improve.
  • Be at part-time status or more. Students must be considered part-time to be eligible for loans. Each college determines what part-time and full-time status means, so ask your financial aid officer how many credits you’ll need to take.

Muhammad Ali’s son says dad would have hated ‘racist’ Black Lives Matter

By Chris White
June 20, 2020 | 8:34am

194929

On the fourth anniversary of his death, Muhammad Ali’s only biological son says that his father would be against Black Lives Matter, calling the movement “racist” and the protesters “devils.”

The legendary boxer and activist stood up against racism throughout his life, but Muhammad Ali Jr. says his dad would have been sickened by how the protests have turned to violence and looting after the death of George Floyd.

“Don’t bust up s–t, don’t trash the place,” he told The Post. “You can peacefully protest.

‘‘My father would have said, ‘They ain’t nothing but devils.’ My father said, ‘all lives matter.’ I don’t think he’d agree.

Of the BLM movement, Ali Jr., a Muslim like his father, said: “I think it’s racist.”

“It’s not just black lives matter, white lives matter, Chinese lives matter, all lives matter, everybody’s life matters. God loves everyone — he never singled anyone out. Killing is wrong no matter who it is,” Ali said during an hour-long interview with The Post.

On police brutality, Ali defended law enforcement in general.

“Police don’t wake up and think, ‘I’m going to kill a n—-r today or kill a white man,'” he said. “They’re just trying to make it back home to their family in one piece.

Speaking of Floyd’s killing at the knee of a white Minneapolis police officer, Ali said, “The officer was wrong with killing that person, but people don’t realize there was more footage than what they showed. The guy resisted arrest, the officer was doing his job, but he used the wrong tactic.”

He agrees with President Trump that Antifa fomented violence during the Floyd protests and should be labeled a terrorist organization.

“They’re no different from Muslim terrorists. They should all get what they deserve. They’re f–king up businesses, beating up innocent people in the neighborhood, smashing up police stations and shops. They’re terrorists – they’re terrorizing the community. I agree with the peaceful protests, but the Antifa, they need to kill everyone in that thing.

“Black Lives Matter is not a peaceful protest. Antifa never wanted it peaceful. I would take them all out.”

What was your credit score at the time? How old was your oldest account? Had you had any other loans? Any assets? Car? There are a zillion factors. You're really saying no one could have had worse credit or more obstacles to getting a loan?
