Lifting after triple bypass heart surgery, gonna show you how its done!

Not as strong willed as it seems. Having "internal struggles with myself" daily -but guess what, I'm winning! :)

"They say that in the fire impurities are burnt off and what is tested becomes refined in fire like pure gold."

That sounds somewhat "bible-ish" to me, nonetheless, I like it!
Thank you brother!
Well I find it true that in our difficult moments its usually an opportunity for growth and what's in us will rise to the occasion when tested

That's a good workout! You're back to using resistance and getting stronger again!

As far as will - having a strong will doesn't mean that everything is easy. It means that when things get hard, you persevere until you get what you want. Having internal struggles isn't a negative reflection of your will - it is a positive reflection. When things get hard and part of you wants to quit - you have the will to say, "F this - I'm making this my b1tch."

I noted that my left forearm (the one they borrowed the artery from) turns blue when exercising.
In theory, that should lead to hypertrophy, right @HIT4ME (thinking of occlusion training) ?

That is mildly terrifying lol.

Allegedly, a moderate course of the one compound we aren’t permitted to discuss here most certainly can greatly restore insulin sensitivity. I’ve never used it, but I have been presented with enough info to believe it. Could be an option if things aren’t improved after months of exercise and good diet.

I think I know what you are talking about. Great idea, gonna think about it.

...or myocyte death from hypoperfusion. Occlusion training is to restrict venous return not atterial delivery.

Yup this. If it’s turning blue then it’s not getting the blood flow it needs and going hypoxic. Blood flow restriction training is more for limiting venous return as mentioned which causes a backflip of blood and metabolite build up

Could not find any info on that issue anywhere. Do you think that my body will grow additional blood vessels over time to compensate?

Its turning blue-ish -but not black. The difference between both forearms is clearly visible. Not sure if I should be concerned -and if its transitory.

Yup! You just have to give your body time to grow said new blood vessels. Arteries will be harder but as long as they didn’t take any major ones you’ll be able to increase the size in the smaller ones and stuff. Thats why Ronnie and them have such big fucking veins

I’d say when it starts to turn colors just give yourself a bit of a break and let the color return. Might kill your pump but you’ll be fine in no time. Just takes some time to dialate veins and arteries etc

I have never heard of this ?????????

I have never heard of this ?????????
Lets hope you never will!

Went Saturday too, that makes it 6 gym days a week.
Was mainly focusing on rotator cuff and stretching. Overall, I feel good.
I'm not confident enough to try a pull -or push up. In about 2 weeks I'll give it a try.
Will take a picture in case my sternum breaks open.

Nice gym consistency. Getting stuck in just as I've started bunking off. Work too busy for gym just now. Feel like I only see the wife and kids 5 minutes a day as it is. After new year I'm gonna try and keep up with you.

Good to hear you are getting it in regularly and feeling somewhat better. We all go through the struggles.

@Hyde we will just call it Valdemort.

Just saw this study and thought it may be interesting for you @hairygrandpa

Getting after it! Is the arm still turning blue?
Yes it does, its my official signature now.
Kid in the gym: "Who is the big dude with the blue arm?" Dad: "Its Hairy Grandpa son. See whats happen to your arm when you wank too much?"

Glad you are back at it !!

Son: Dad I know that's a lie... but I think I might be going blind...

Update on the blue arm:

A picture doesn't do it justice. Looks weirder in real life:

Capt. Blue Arm !!

Looks purple to me which is probably better, more red hue more blood... Definitely a very noticeable difference in color. Jagged cut scar make it look like you were attacked not operated on. You can make up some cool stories! Of course surviving what you went through and coming out determined to kick ass is plenty cool on on its own!

That forearm scar? When I was a pirate in the Streets of Gibraltar. The captain went overboard and I reached out for him: "Take my hand!" I forgot that he was an amputee and had this hook prosthesis. At first he tried to hold on by ramming his hook into my chest, see that scar? While he was hooked at my chest, his parrot was attacking my left arm, leaving that horrible purple scar.

True story.

That’s literally the best scar story I’ve ever heard; you win the internet

Lucky for him when he fell into the water he was eaten by a giant crocodile which save him from your wrath!

I think we have a Novel Here !!

I cant believe i didnt stumble upon this thread earlier!

@hairygrandpa i must say i admire you and your attitude.

I have been going through some heart issues (which are considered minor, some would say nothing compared to your situation) myself and i find this really encouraging and motivating.

You are the man!

Short update:

Feeling good/great. Strength is up, weight slowly going down. Working out every fugging day besides Sundays.
Getting more confident as I'm progressing.
Still not in the mood to post more frequent on AM. Will do after next surgery, when attacking the weights more diligently.

Glad you’re still at it :)
I am quite stoked for the next HGP log, but in due time. Family and self care first. Keep up the fight sir.

Great to hear you and your attitude are doing better !
