Well having coming off of opiods and having 3 herniated discs I disagree.... It's another form of bondage for me personally. Ive been on 3 years and I hate it. When I try to come off I have withdrawals. And I can't sit around for 3 days so I continue to stay on at as low a dose as possible. To say that for some it isnt destructive is incorrect.


I connect with people and relationships much much better wothout it. There's even a thread here of people who have shared the same struggle trying to come off. Many of them unsuccessful. Make no mistake about it, for some it may be helpful and they may get a lot of benefits. For others after a period it stops working and youre left with only the negative. Not as bad as rx opiates no doubt, but a hook nevertheless.

Only a hook if abused.. Like anything you have to take time off. And take in moderation. You can abuse anything .aas, preworkouts, supps, caffeine. If your someone who has a problem with addiction no matter what the product i recommened it with caution.. You cant substitute one addiction for another.. What good is that..
My son uses this daily for his tarlov cyst growing out of the nerves at the base of his spine.. Much better than opioids safer and according to him the relief from kratom is way better than any prescription drug(perc,vic,oxy) has ever provided and the kratom allows him to function near normally not get him buzzed or high like opioids.

Well I started taking it after 7 years sober for exactly what you proposed. But at this point id rather be off and live with some pain than continue on. I hear you and I agree. But the compound itself is addictive, so even people who were never addicted to anythi g have taken it and got addicted to it.

I do believe the plant in itself is not bad. And has the potential to help others. I agree with you there. To say that it isnt at all destructive just isn't true, regardless of what type of individual is using it. I work 50 hours a week I'm a full-time grad student in a master's-level program and I take care of my son 50/50 custody. Now I can do all that while I'm taking Kratom however I believe my quality of life would be better and my relationships would also be better if I wasn't on it. That said I can function just fine on it I would prefer to be off and I will be getting off shortly.

Kratom can be abused like anything else.. All dependant upon the user. But when you cannot function or have a normal life or productive life do to extreme pain and would rather die Then keep living this way.. Kratom can be used to help the pain and will not give you the side effects associated with opioids.. Kratom is not gonna get users high like opioids also..
I understand believe me I understand. The question for you is what can you take that is gonna help you and yoir pain that your not gonna get hooked on. Or cause other more harmful issues..
My son doesnt wanna take kratom. He doesnt like kratom. But. He takes kratom because it gave him his life back and he can function normally. Something opioids couldnt do. Something spinal injections didnt help but cause more pain and disability. They would make him high not take away the pain.

And deal with the pain. As it grows and gets worse.. Depression sets in also.. Kratom has allowed him to at least move around and be productive. Go back to college. To function to as normal a life as possible.. to have hope for a future.. Like i said i hope for the best for you and wish you well and hope you find what your looking for.. But please be careful and checkout the side effects to these other drugs or opioids.. And what they may do to you and your liver and kidneys. And make sure they are not gonna cause you manic issues or depression.im routin for ya.. The problem is big pharma.. They dont make cures. Only patients... They wanna give one thing for one issue but it causes a slew of other issues and side effects that now you need other medication to counter .. So you end up taking more than you originally did in the beginning and now have other issues you never had and have to treat them.. It sucks

It get you high exactly like an opiod because it is a partial mu-opioid agonist. Meaning it hits opiate receptors but not to the same extent a full mu-opioid agonist would. It does have a ceiling meaning its only going to get you so high. and then the sides increase the more you take.

I do hear you bro, I think kratom is much better than prescription pain killers and is natural. I know you rep and I think kratom has great potential to help people. For a lot of people its a crutch. Dont be naive to what your taking when you take kratom. Its properties activate opiate receptors and its why people use it recreationally. It gets them high especially in higher doses (greater than 5g).

I'm sorry about your son man I have a 3 year old boy that would crush me man. And I do agree its works well for pain and helps some people get through hard things. This is the reason I believe kratom can benefit as well. Everything in life has pros and cons. Theres no such thing in life as something with only positives and no drawbacks.

If your getting high Then your taking to way much.. Ive taken percs oxys viks.. Ive torn labrums and rotator surgery ,in both shoulders. Ulnar surgery and a bicep tenodesis. For beginners 2-3grams is plenty. Taking 1-2 days off every week or 2. What i consider a max dose is 6gr.. Ive never had to go beyond this. Ive been using this for yrs now. Kratom to me has the withdraws of caffeine..
Dose 2 maybe 3 time a day max..
But never has it gotten me high or weirded me out like percs. That made me itch or even after having labrum surgery yrs ago on my left shoulder and then ulnar surgery on my left elbow percs i was up trying to fix stuff high as kite. Anxious.. Acting crazy...
That was from only the dr recommended dose... Thia last yr. I had right shoulder surgery and bicep tenodesis.. Screw the pain meds.. Ice and red kratom.. Helped me tremendously through the pain and no jonesing or withdraws..
Everyone is different. What works for me may not work for you.. Like drugs or alcohol.
one person can go drink or have a little fun and not think nothing of it.. Never need to use them again.. While another person will have a totally different affect.. One drink may be all it takes and your hooked or someone may get high once and their hooked...
So if someone has that addiction type of problem. No matter what it may be... More than likely they will suffer the same addiction for anything they use or try...

Absolutely miserable.. Im. A hero cause i had a k cup in my desk... It was literally like i saved her..lmao the next day she brought me in like 10 different types of k cups.. I just keep cause i know it will happen again.. But for the record pumpkin spice is nasty...ugh

I guess we're just seeing things from 2 different perspectives. For me kratom is a mild opiate and ive done a lot of opiates. Yes youre right coffee (and caffeine) is addictive. I never said kratom gives bad withdrawals like other opiates. But I do know what it does ive been taking it on and off for 3 years. Theres times in that 3 years that its prob helped me tremendously. Other times I didn't really need it. So I think we agree on more things then we are apart here.

It can be helpful if used properly. It has mild opioid properties. It can be addictive if abused.

These are the facts I think we can agree on. If not then were just coming from 2 different places.
